Great tracker for normal user. Best Tracker App

The tracker is great for all around health monitoring and motivation for normal users. I have had it for 3 weeks and am still getting used to it. My wife and 4 friends have also purchased the Fit-Bit HR Charge and we all like it. The design is small and easy to wear 24 hours a day in addition to or instead of a wrist watch. Some dedicated exercise monitors might be more accurate for Heart Rate such as some chest-band units, and the Fit-Bit is not fully water proof, but those other monitors don't allow you to monitor your health in so many areas: sleep, weight, stairs nutrition, water intake etc. For someone who wants to get motivated to loose weight, stay active or just monitor their physical routine, this Tracker is great and very inexpensive for all it does. The Fit-Bit is motivating and sends encouragement to meet a goal of exercise or other activity that you set within the free App, and it sends you reminders or "Awards" as you near or reach those goals. It allows you to set multiple silent alarms to remind you to take pills, walk the dog, would remind teachers to prepare their class to got to recess or clean-up to go home at the end of the day. So many ways to use it and easy to customize to your needs. There is also a feature that links to your Cell phone and silently lets you know who is calling. Very cool.. We bought the Fit-Bit Arie Scale that automatically syncs our weight (up to 8 individuals) to the App. We like not having to record our weight by hand and it monitors and displays progress. If you do not have the scale, you can enter weight in the App without it. The Fit-Bit App is the best one I have found. You can quickly view an overview of the various areas that it monitors and it allows you to get a detailed view of that area (Weight, Sleep, Steps, Etc.) with a click of the mouse. The App links with many other health Apps. We have linked it to "My Fitness Pal", a free app for entering meals and exercise. Since we have been using "My Fitness Pal" for years, and can't imagine anything could be as easy, we were happy that links to it.. "My Fitness Pal" learns, remembers and/or transfers meals you eat on a regular basis, in addition to having a huge database of foods and allows for easily adding new ones. I believe the Fit-Bit App has a similar feature, but we have not used it. I would buy again for myself or as a gift, and may even upgrade to the Surge when or if my Samsung Gear Dies .

This fitbit was easy to set up, and has been easy to use. Good feedback on the things I'm interested in--tracking steps, stairs, calories, and sleep. I haven't done much with weight ;yet, and probably won't in the near future. So far, it's been surprisingly accurate in measuring distance traveled. It sometimes takes a few minutes to sync with my ipad, and in the best of all possible worlds, the battery might last longer than the 3-4 days it has been charged.

I exercise 4x a week & considered myself an active person until I realized how inactive I am the days that I don't exercise (avg 6000 steps). It helped motivate me to take my dog on longer walks so I can reach my goal steps per day. It monitors my workouts. The calories in vs out helped me monitor how many calories I was consuming. I've had this product for a month and lost five pounds. The only negative thing I can say is the battery doesn't last 5 days but every othwe day charge it for 15-20 mins while I shower and it is good to go. It never died. It's also a plus that it alerts you when it needs to be charged.

    Love the Charge HR

I had issues with previous versions of the Fitbit (I was allergic to the Force and the Charge died after one week), but I was very interested in getting the Charge HR when it came out. I got mine as an early release in December directly from Fitbit and bought another for my wife from Best Buy. We both love the features, continuous heart rate monitoring, distance, stairs, and of course the step counter. I don't like wearing watches, but this is small enough that it doesn't bother me. The data displayed is just right and vibrate feature for the alarm clock and incoming calls works great. One of the features that many may not think of is the watch-style wristband. This was the main reason I selected the Charge HR over the Charge, Yes, heart rate monitoring is nice, but at the end of the day, I could have passed on that. The fact that I no longer worry about losing the Fitbit because I accidentally rubbed the clasp against something was worth the extra $20. I would say the only downside I see with the Charge HR is battery life. They say that it will last 5 days...I have never seen it go more than 3 days since I got mine last year and my wife's is the same. It isn't the worst thing in the world, but it would have been much nicer if you could have gone a week without charging like the old Fitbit Force. Overall, I really like this and have recommended it to many people. I will be purchasing another one for my daughter for her birthday.

This thing is pretty neat. I like the fact that the interface is so easy, I mean you just press a button to scroll through the menu (I think a recent update made it to where the motion of bringing your wrist up makes it flash to whatever you have preset to come up - mine is just the time but you can change it to the steps, heart rate, calories burned, etc.) or you can double tap on the top of it and it will pop up as well. You can change what you see and the order you see it on the app or the dashboard on your computer. You can change your goals and set up a weight loss plan as well. There are databases that you can use to keep track of your food (based on the country) or you can add your own foods. I have had to get in touch with customer service to try to fix an issue regarding the accuracy of the food database, but they weren't all that helpful so I said to heck with it. So now I just add my own foods and stick with that. My battery life is around 4-5ish days and that is without the automatic syncing. You can change it to where it syncs automatically when you are within a certain distance of your phone or computer, but that really killed my battery on my phone. There are a couple things that really get on my nerves though: 1. it is not waterproof. Yes, its water resistant, but not water proof. 2. The underneath where you plug in the charging cable does not have anything covering the port. So when you are active in any way, sweat and other nastiness gets in that area. I wore it when I played volleyball and sand was caked in it. When you sweat it says to take off the band and let it dry completely. Ok cool. But it doesn't say that sweat mixed with electricity makes a bad something or another that can actually burn your skin. It has not happened to me personally, but it would just be better overall if there was a covering right there to keep it as clean as possible. Its not the most expensive activity band on the market, but hard earned cash was spent on it, so I would like to keep it as long as possible. Anyway, I am just beginning a more active life journey, so I didn't need anything was too high tech. I've started into running and I think the surge would have been better for that as the GPS would be a great deal more accurate than just going by your steps (there is an option on the computer dashboard where you can change your run stride). But, minus the two issues that I spoke of up there, this thing as been great. You look down and see your progress for the day so you can give yourself that kick in the butt you need or give yourself a pat on the back. Really helps you see what you eat in a day as well. This has definitely helped me change my lifestyle and I feel all the better for it. I hope this helps anyone that was in the same position that I was in. Good luck everyone!

I really like the tracking features, especially the ability to arrange them in the order I want to review them. I bought the HR to track my pulse when running and tested it against a few gym machines. The rates pretty much always synced up, which was encouraging. There are two things for which I do not care. First is the short battery life. I feel like I am always taking it off to charge. Second is the little loop that holds the end of the band down when the band is clasped. It has a nub to make it more secure, but is annoying when taking it off to shower or charge. Happy with the product overall.

I truly enjoy the fit bit hr. Prior to purchasing this I rarely wore a watch, and this band does not bother me, that was a plus. It seems to be fairly accurate in the readings that it gives me, plus along with the aria scale it keeps track of everything for me. The biggest pro for me is simply because there is a large community of fit bit wearers that I get into challenges with, this motivates me to continue to move and stay in the lead! Over all I give it 4 out of 5 stars, the minus 1 star is because I can not get 5 days out of the battery as advertised. If they would have advertised 2 days I would not complain because that is what I get!

    Keeps Me Motivated

I have been waiting for the next iteration of the Fitbit ever since it was originally recalled due to skin irritation from the wrist band. I can safely say there is no skin irritation with this version.I purchased the HR so my wife and I could help motivate one another to keep more active during the winter months. For the most part the tracker is fairly accurate. I have compared the distance and heart rate tracking to the readings I get from the treadmill at the gym. Both readings are within a reasonable range of one another leading me to believe they are fairly accurate. However, the Charge has a more difficult time tracking heart rate during normal day to day movement compared to running on the treadmill. I also enjoy tracking my water consumption using the app for my phone. However, my favorite feature by far is the sleep tracking. With this latest version, the Fitbit automatically knows when I am laying down to fall asleep. It records the time it takes me to fall asleep, how many times/minutes I was restless/awake, and determines the amount of sleep I got for the night. It is interesting data to use when looking for patterns or sleep behavior. The silent alarm is also a much nicer way to wake up in the morning compared to an annoying and loud alarm clock. The app is basic and easy to use. The data collected is not the most in depth, but it is nice to track patterns and overall progress. I use it as a guide rather then an end all be all. If you do not have a smartphone, you can also use the included bluetooth USB connector to sync data to your computer. I need to charge the device typically once every 4-6 days with the heart rate monitor on. My main complaint is that it doesn't track activity other than running/jogging all that well. I typically go to the gym to lift weights and the tracker does not recognize this activity. Not to mention the stairs climbed tracker is VERY inaccurate. Just today as I was cleaning the bathroom, I managed to climb 23 flights of stairs just from my up and down arm movements of cleaning the mirror. Bottom line: If you are looking for an activity tracker at a reasonable price, fairly accurate, small profile, and easy to use app interface, than the Fitbit Charge would be a good product for you. Just go in know that the data collected is an approximation and should be used as a way to spot trends and overall fitness growth. Day by day stats may vary in accuracy, but tends to average out over time. It does keep me motivated to hit my step goal and water intake goal on a daily basis. I have even been known to pace my house from time to time before going to bed if I am close to my 10,000 steps.

The good: tracks steps, sleep, exercise, variance in heart rate, food, weight, etc. the Fitbit HR will motivate you to set and hit goals. The interface with the phone app is very well done. Besides, it's a cool watch too! The bad: no battery indicator on unit, does not stay plugged in properly when charging, have to take off for water activities like doing dishes, no GPS for walks Overall: this product does what it says and is keeping me focused on my goals.

Overall I am very happy with my Fitbit charge hr. It gives me a lot of useful data on my daily activity and sleep. It gives you a good a good motivation to stay fit. I believe it is most beneficial for people who want to use it for daily life and normal activities. I do not do heavy workout sessions but I think it is not best for that. The other downside is that it's not water proof but sweat hasn't damaged it so far. I have recommended it to many friends.

This fitness tracker has been great. I've never used one before but it is awesome to be able to keep track of your steps, heart rate, calories, etc everyday. Everything seems pretty accurate except the stair counter. Always states I've only climbed 2 stairs when I'm using the stairclimber in my gym. Also only lasts 3 days in between charges but that works for me. I would definitely recommend this to anyone not needing built in gps for long runs.

I have had more than one Fitbit device as well as the J.....e. I have to say that when it comes to the app this device trail behind other devices that are more user friendly and provides you with challenges to help you achieve your fitness goal. The battery life is very poor, lasting only 4-5 days depending on your usage and or how active you are. The heart rate monitor is excellent and provides you with your resting heart rate as well as your max rate when you workout. It is pretty accurate. It also tells you the time spent in fat burning mode which can be helpful for those who want to loose weight. I love the fact that you can start an activity if you're away from your phone or bluetooth device that it is attached to. It also allows you log what you were doing when you're finished. The calorie counter is excellent as it tells if you over, under or within your your daily recommended caloric limit. I also like the breakdown of the food I eat so that I can tell if I'm sticking to my daily limits of fat, protein & other important nutrients. The band only comes in a small or large and I have difficulty with both as one is either too big or too small. They recommend wearing it certain way when exercising but no matter how i try to follow the recommendation I still have issues with it falling down.

I had the Fitbit one and liked how it was able to track my steps and activities, but wanted to see what kind of shape I was actually in. So getting the Fitbit Charge HR was the perfect item for this. It easily tracks my steps, floors, calories burned and my heart rate. It also has a function to be able to keep track of your exercise periods, basically a stop watch. The silent alarm works great too. I initially thought no way would a vibrating alarm be able to wake me up, but it does. The bonus is that it has a watch function so there is no need to wear a watch and the Fitbit at the same time.

This is the first time I have used one of these fitness trackers. I was primarily looking to get something to monitor my heart rate as Im mountain biking. It works as expected. The step count is a neat feature that pushes you a little to walk a little extra. An unexpected bonus is the caller id. Im guilty of laying my phone down and missing calls. This vibrates on your wrist and displays the caller ID. The only negative is the battery life. It can probably go 3 days with out charge. I have a routine of plugging it in while I take a shower and that is plenty. I have never had it go dead.

Does everything it's supposed to do so far, I was waiting for a heart rate montior to come out on one of these things, so as soon as this was released I bought it (AND of COURSE it went on sale a week later. :) ) The heart rate monitor has been surprisingly accurate, I've tested it 3x, and it's been pretty close to actual numbers. The apps use and integration has been nice and overall pretty seamless, although I am having problems with the battery lasting the noted 5 days--usually I can get it about 3. Overall, I'm enjoying it!

As one who has struggled with getting AND staying healthy, I found this to be extremely helpful for me. I have been able to link it to an app on my phone which allows me to see my daily, weekly, monthly, and overall stats of everything - from sleep to steps. I've been able to see where I "fell short" and where I've been strong in my routine (so I can adjust my routine as needed). I've been using it for over 2 months and it has completely exceeded my expectations (and the expectations of my personal wellness advocate as well). I would definitely recommend this!

I was hoping there was a setting that would allow me to see my HR continuously without pushing any buttons like the Mio does. Not show it all the time but while I am working out so I can keep my HR in the zone during a workout but it is not possible. It does about the same job as the Fitbit One for steps and sleep but it is nice that I don't have to turn the sleep mode on. It does a better job with steps. Had problems with the original Mio Alpha keeping my HR one I started to sweat. It would lose it and would have to reset it and then it might not find it again. So far I have not had any issue with it finding my HR anytime I press the button or tap the display but it is a pain doing this during a workout because I don't like having to let go while I am on a machine because I am afraid I will lose my balance so I probably would have been more satisfied with just the Charge since I will probably give the Mio another chance since they have come out with another version or go back to fighting with a chest strap.

I have had my fit bit Charge HR for a week and I think it is a great product for monitoring your activity with the intention of keeping fit! It pairs well with the app and encourages you to take a few extra steps a day by monitoring your activity all day. I love not having to wear the heart rate monitors and having an accurate device to measure my activity. I only wish it were waterproof that's why it didn't receive 5 stars but I am very happy with my purchase and it does what I thought it would!

This is my first tracker, and I have to say I love it! The different things that this can help track along with the app make this a very user friendly device. I did my research on different trackers, and while this is not water-proof it is the best device for what I wanted to do; track my daily steps, flights of stairs, and track my sleep patterns. Bonus for me was the silent alarm which I wasn't sure would actually wake me, but I haven't slept through it once in four months. Love this product and will be getting one for my kids and spouse.
