Fitbit Charge HR versus Polar A300
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I kept Polar A300 for 10 days and returned it to get a Fitbit HR Charge Pros for Polar: 1. the watchface gives lots of information at once (time, heart rate etc.) the heart reate monitor is accurate since it goes around chest. (The fitbit Charge HR I replaced it with has a tiny screen and you need to push a button multiple times to get heart rate. time, and other statisticis (Fitbit also has the Surge model that has a full watch face but it is much more expensive than this Polar HR watch.). 2. Polar watch and chest strap are waterproof--which i really appreciate and lack of waterproofing on the fitbit is a big disadvantage to me. Cons for Polar: 1. To get Polar heart rate all the time (necessary for accurate calorie counting) you need to wear the chest strap. In warm (upper 70's) weather, wearing chest strap all the time gave me a rash and I had to move it up and down on to spread the rash out so it didn't get too bad. 2. I had trouble syncing with the phone app 3. I already have a Peeble smart watch (also bought from Best Buy) that I love because it gives me vibrations and informatiion on the screen for call, calendar appointments and text messages. I think this Polar watch gives at most (if at any) notification of cell calls and .without vibration (but maybe I didn't learn how to do it. )I didn't want to wear two watches so I returned the polar. I replacde this product with a fitbit charge HR sfor the following reasons 1. I didn't need to wear the chest strap since fitbit HR does heart rate on the wrist. 2. Thie fitbit charge HR is much smaller than the Polar watch so it dioesn't look so funny to wear it in addition to my Peeblle smart watch. 3. Synching to phone app was much easie for Fibit Charge Hrr than for Polar app. I reccommend buying this Polar from Best Buy or other store rather than online, because there can be issues with getting the Polar synced with computer and phone, which is essential to made effective use of the watch.. The Best Buy staff helped me. Fitbit was easier to set up the syncing on computer and phone.

Not happy with it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fitbit was misrepresented by the sales person. He told me on the cheaper ones it counts steps just by the shake of you arm. But the expensive ones are not like that. So in the end I paid more for somethings I didn't need. I don't feel this is the Fitbit fault but a sales person that had no idea about the product being sold.

Best heart rate monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an 8-inch circumference wrist. The large fits my wrist using the 5th of 11 holes. To make the Fitbit sit flat an inch above the wrist bump, I wear it with the screen facing from the inside of the wrist. I've worn chest straps, two-finger wrist watch heart monitors, the original ePulse and the latest ePulse. This FitBil HR is as accurate or more accurate than I've known. I don't do running or jumping exercises, so I don't meet problems with readings. The Dashboard makes it easier to see heart rate results than a cardiologist or MD have ever told me. The Dashboard shows a running graph of the heart rate though the day and tracks sleep hours, even with breaks at night. I've tracked ordinary household duty activity calorie intake food vs output for the 3 days I've used it. It is very comfortable, less noticeable than wristwatches or ePulse, even while sleeping. The FitBit HR is worn loose enough to see the light through my skin at the sides in the dark, The ability to tap to see my heart rate and lift the wrist to see the time makes all very easy. As a computer savvy, it was easy to set up on my Android 4.4.4 Motorola bluetooth and on Windows 10. I can now keep track of food intake to plan weight on the Dashboard. My phone and FitBit HR have needed charging once when I started over the 3 days and show half charge now.

Excellent Tool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellnt tool for tracking your activity and motivate improvement. I have found my self at 9500 steps near the end of the day and walked around the house until I hit 10,000. I started walking/running after buying it and my resting heart rate went from 71 to 68 in a month. I just charge when in the shower and it keeps me at half charge or higher. It is comfortable, even to sleep in. I love the sleep tracker data. The only problem is phantom steps when driving my RV. It bounces a bit and requires some sawing on the wheel so it registers as steps. I hit 30,000 on a 4 hour drive.

Everything I needed...and more.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 weeks after I bought the FitBit HR-Charge...enough time to honestly provide a rating/review: Very happy with the purchase. While not EXACTLY accurate on step-count & HR (do you REALLY need the exact count?), this product does what I need it to do: Monitor and encourage my activity--syncs great with my phone (LOVE the Caller ID & vibrate call notification) and PC (via dongle, provided). Dashboard reports are very graphical and customizable...tracking what I need to track. Bonus benefits--Sleep monitor is interesting and accurate...I think. :-) It identifies restlessness versus awake. Tallies 'restful sleep' hours each night. The wake-up alarm (vibration) does the trick...quietly, without waking the person next to you. The HR monitor uses your age to display if your rate is above/within/below your cardio-zone...handy. Highly recommend the product.

Didn't like it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Fitbit HR, but had to immediately return it. When my Fitbit HR was on the charger, or sitting my dresser, it was still recording as if I was walking or excercising. I heard a lot of great things about the Fitbit HR, and that is what made me want one. I was very disappointed.

Original charge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially I thought it was a good product but the clip on the charging part of the band broke. I took care with this device especially when I later read that others were experiencing the breakage and no replacement available. I wished I had purchased the product replacement.

Great Investment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this 3 weeks ago and love it! I was concerned about the battery life after reading some of the reviews, but purchased it regardless. It only lasted 3 days when I charged it the first time, but since then it goes for 5 days easily. I am currently on day 6 of the last time it was charged. The heart rate monitor is fairly accurate also. I really enjoy seeing how many steps I do in the course of a day and how I am sleeping! This was a great investment!
