I bought this from Best Buy in Jan 2015, and now it's pretty much dead. I had it on when I took a shower a week ago, and it just stop working. I thought this product is waterproof. Definitely wasted $150.00 since it's out of warranty, and I did not buy any insurance from Best Buy.

For the price point, you can't beat the features this thing gives you. Sure, you'll argue the dashboard interface and other items like that, but overall you can't beat the value you get from Fitbit. I previously had a jawbone and I got used to their UI. However, the social aspect won me over with Fitbit as opposed to Jawbones.

    Inaccurate when used on treadmill

Overall, I like the Fitbit Charge HR as a motivational tool... provides reasonably useful information on activity and sleep patterns, and aids in setting goals and just getting up and being active. Its major flaw is that the step counter is grossly inaccurate when walking (and presumably running) on treadmills, even if your arms are swinging normally and you're maintaining a normal gait. I found it to be as much as 50% low in recording steps, rendering it nearly useless for this activity. If you're looking for a tracker to provide directional information on how much activity you're engaging in from one day to the next, the Fitbit is a solid choice. The app is pretty good, too. However, if you need a high level of accuracy for recorded steps/distance, I would NOT recommend this device at this time; I would expect that this could improve with some algorithm changes and a future firmware upgrade.

I feel like sometimes it did not accurately count my steps. Was hard to connect the charger in and it would keep popping off... I am a heavy sweater in Florida so I feel it caused a malfunction and now it doesn't work. Did like it when it was working

    Do not buy total garbage

The device picks up normal activities like driving as walking and climbing steps. When you enter that you were driving for that doration, it does not delete any of the badges you may have earned for your progress climbing steps or walking. On a 60 mile trip to work I climbed 400 steps and walked 7000 paces. Fitbit customer service was not helpful at all. Until they make a drive mode to turn off the pedometer while driving I will never buy another Fitbit product. I returned my Fitbit HR charge.

    DO. NOT. BUY. EVER.

I bought my initial device in August 2015. About every three months or so, the textured covering would begin to peel off just underneath the display. As Best Buy only has a 15 day return policy, I contacted FitBit support and each time I received a new device due to their 1 year warranty. With the latest device, which I have not yet had for 3 months, it went dead after less than 3 days since it's last full charge. Unfortunately, this seems to be a problem within the FitBit support community. When this happens, it no longer syncs to your device (I have an iPhone 5S). I even tried to reconnect the devices as you would with a new tracker but to no avail. Now fully charged, it sits with a half empty software update bar but with no internet connection and no further progress. After exploring this situation, it seems that when this occurs, it's dead. Useless. Like the blue screen of death when a computer crashes. I've had nothing but problems with these devices in the past year. For $150, you expect it to last much longer if you take reasonable care of it. I never wore them in the shower, swimming or even washing dishes. Other than when charging, I wore it always, except in the previous mentioned situations. The concept is a good one, the execution is terrible. I wanted to upgrade, but now I'm concerned with spending additional money on a repeatedly failing product. Next time, if there is one, I'll choose a different brand. I'm very disappointed as this kept me motivated to move more, whether in the gym or outside exercising.

Good product, app needs bug fixes

I really like this product. This particular model can have a syncing issue with the app, which I guess they're working on. I did have to reset the tracker within the first few days, but now it usually works fine. Occasionally I have to try syncing more than once to get it to sync.
