It's not a old style pedometer, it syncs data instantly via your mobile into fitbit cloud app, it has really helped me to monitor and track my input calories vs output calories... Data is all I needed, about my intake and consumption, and I started sticking to 2000 calories deficit to see results, if I eat more this product says me how much I should shed, directly linked in my smart phone, it is also fun to use, a kind of motivating personal assistant... But this product does not use pulse to calculate calories burned, so accuracy of the calorie calculated is subjective to body metabolic rate based on the activity performed. This is a good product to start as a beginner... Certainly not for advanced and athletic users...

Bought this for my wife as a gift and she loves it. This Tracker is easy to use , looks great and has a long battery life.

so fitbit customer service is top notch, the software tracking on your mobile and web is also very easy to use and well built, i do like this device as i am able to pull the sensor out and place it in a 3d printed holder on my watch band and not have multipule bands on my wrist so its comfortable and still gives me all the use i need. i have owned every fitbit device made, and still enjoy this little device for it does exactly what i need it to. and i do enjoy pairing it up with my pebble time.

Very easy to use and very easy keep charged. There are a lot of high tech ones out there, but sometimes basic is good enough!
