Not sure how they calculate the calorie count, though I would imagine that it's based on some formula that factors in walking speed and weight. Overall great experience with the product. A really cool feature with the product that really helps motivate me more are the "Weekly Challenges".. Nothing like good old fashion competition with friends/family.

Easy to use

There are a few times I have seen it's not picking up my strips, but generally it's good. The battery life is good, it needs charged every 3 days.

I use this for when i'm exercising in the evening and at work while counting my daily steps and other job duties. it's light weight and the color is rich.I would recommend this to anybody, even for someone like me who is not gadget smart.
