This is a great starter item for someone wanting to know how much activity they have during the day. It gives a fairly accurate picture of steps taken during the day but it can give false step information based on arm movement. Overall, I am happy with this fitbit.

I'll keep my review simple and focused on one critical issue: the snap clasps which hold the device to your wrist are too easily opened. I had only had my Fitbit for a week or two when, while strolling through a store, I noticed it missing from my arm where it had been 20 minutes before. From what I can surmise, it snapped off as I pulled a shopping bag over my hand. A stronger method for keeping the band attached to your wrist, for example any of the types of clasps used on watches for hundreds of years, would make this a better buy. I'm sure the snaps were chosen by the designers for convenience of removal and frugality of manufacture, but anything intended to remain on the wrist during miscellaneous physical activities and sleep should have a clasp designed primarily to hold it on the wrist, not for easy removal. If I had had the Fitbit longer, I would be able to review more of its features. In this instance, perhaps uniquely, the fact that I lost the device speaks more to the value of the device itself than would be true of a device not meant to remain on my person.

My 11 year-old saved the money to buy this for herself. She and her friends get into competitions to see who is more active. At the end of the day they compare stats. This is a great way to get them to exercise more.

I earn wellness incentives through my work and this is great because it does the work of tracking my steps for me. I like the silent (vibrating) alarm too.

The fitbit is great for people who are just starting out.

The flex is easy to use and helps to motivate me to exercise. I also like that it tracks sleep. I've been eating better and exercising more since I bought it. I've had it for 2 months and I've already lost 20lbs!

Unit works fine with my fitness pal , helps you stay focused and track your goals. It's durable and stands up to workouts. The only negatives are the calibration is off, when driving it actually track steps. Also the band clip could be a little sturdier

I love my fitbit! It works very well and tracks my steps.

I bought two of these, a black and a pink, and the black works great and never has any issues. However, my pink one WILL NOT let me put it in sleep mode by tapping it like you're supposed to be able to, EVER. I have to start sleep mode from my phone every night. Other than that, it's excellent! We have contests of who can take the most steps in a day, or a week, and the fitbit actually logs the contests! It's SUPER easy to track literally everything we eat because most all of it is already in the fitbit system. I love that I can also access the fitbit from my web browser. No real complaints here!

i love that this tracks how many steps you take, your sleep cycle, calories you burn, food you eat (manual input). it really helps me see how i need to better take care of myself. my husband and i try to compete with each other! :)

I didn't realize how much this really could motivate someone!!
