Very infomative but....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first band broke within 30 days so I bought a 3 pack for $27. I hope these last a bit longer or this thing is going to get expensive. Still a decent product with regard to info provided in the app but it needs a more robust band if you are meant to wear it 24/7

Love product but band broke after just a week.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this and was very happy that Best Buy had in stock. Online ordering and store pickup a breeze. Set up easy. Works like a charm- until I was removing from band after 8 days and the band snapped ! The seam near the window is flawed. Fit bit offered replacement on the band- in 10 weeks. Insane- terrible service. It is a shame that a great product is ruined by cheaping out on the band. No thanks- I am returning. No thanks fit bit- I'm returning.

Clasp is horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the most part the product does what it says, my biggest issue with this Fitbit flex and the fitbit ultra is the securing mechanism. I owned a fitbit ultra before this and it fell off deplaning. The fitbit flex fell off several times over the first three days of owning, ( once it fell off and I did not notice and was luckily turned into the lost and found) the clasping device is poor if not useless, I have resorted to using duct tape around the clasp in order for band not to fall off. Looks kinda bad but I have not lost since.

Good, accurate but missing some key features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is great as long as your expectations are strictly for a pedometer. I find the product very easy to set up and use, and the steps are pretty accurate along with distance (you can even set your stride to make it more specific and accurate to you). Some nice extras that are passive (you don't have to do anything) is that it will estimate your distance as well as the "active minutes" based on how much you are moving around for a given time; proactive (you have to actively log these) extras include ability to track how much water you are drinking along with your caloric intake. For the latter, it seems that they have a pretty robust selection of options to choose from but I would think it would make sense to have the ability to scan a barcode from the app instead of having to manually type and search for an item. It is light and stylish and it is great that it is waterproof/resistant so I can take it into the shower. I do wish it had a clock on it like the Force model had...i do find myself looking at this thinking it is a watch more than I thought it would. All in all, this is a good product provided you have the right expectations. For me, I realized that my realistic method of exercise and activity was not going to the gym or classes (I've tried those before with no results). I am, however, willing to walk, especially with my dog and I do find myself pushing myself harder when I walk knowing that I want to hit my target as well as the fact that I want to get a workout. I've had this for 3-4 weeks and I think the overall package (steps tracking, manual tracking of calories) has helped me already about 2-3 pounds.

Very good product, easy to use, loving it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As of 5/07/2013 I have only owned the device for a week now but I am liking it quite a bit so far. Set up was easy, plug in device, recognize device, sign up/login and you're off and tracking. Nice looking dashboard online, iPhone app is great for quick stats and entering water, food, activity, etc. I linked MyFitnessPal app so that I could better track my meals and again set up was very quick and easy. The Flex will track and monitor your daily burn along with calories consumed and give you up to date net results. I walk quite a bit between a full time job and a part time job so tracking my daily movement was huge for me. It seems to be pretty accurate so far after having tested my movements with the Nike+ devices previously. I am still figuring out the tracking and just how accurate it is though. The biggest surprise for me in liking the Flex is the sleep tracking. I wanted to test this out but I didn't realize how much I would like this function of the device. Wear it to bed and when you wake up you log in when you went to bed and when you woke up and it gives you the time it took you to fall asleep, times awake during the night, how long, and sleep efficiency. It's not incredibly detailed beyond that, but that is very nice information if you have trouble sleeping or are just curious what type of sleeper you are. When reviewing your sleep activity it would be nice to be able to expand your timeline to view the awake times a little better. The bar graph shows lines and you hover the mouse over them to view awake time, but the lines are very small and you can easily jump from one line to the next. I wish the timeline could be expanded a bit more to really comb over the details. You can edit almost all the settings for your device such as steps goals, calories burned goals, but you cannot set water consumption that I have seen and the default 48oz is way too low. Syncing is very easy on the Flex. You can either open up the app on your phone and it will auto sync, or the device comes with a USB device that will detect the Flex if you're within 20ft of your PC for any length of time. You an also manually sync with the PC device. The device is very comfortable which was my biggest concern. I have the Nike+ Sportband and I found that when I wore it to work anytime that I did heavy lifting it would pop off my wrist. The Flex has not done this once. It snaps in nice and tight, stays high enough up on the wrist so that when I bend my wrist to does not get strained like my Nike+ Sportband did. The flex also looks nice too, not flashy or over the top at all. Hoping for small display in the future, but not a huge deal if they don't come out with one. It's only been a week so the device is still figuring things out, but I like it quite a bit so far and have very few and very minor complaints that will most likely be fixed in future app updates. Edit: After going to the gym a couple times I've noticed the Flex definitely tracks more movement, as far as it being an accurate representation of your movement in the gym is based on the individual. The hour and a half I was in the gym the Flex dashboard graph shows solid red lines, whereas the lines before and after that time are yellow for moderate and blue for regular movements. I also added the activity into the activity tracker so that I could match the spike in movement with the correct activity.

Really strong product, could use a few adjustments
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product has been instrumental in me losing weight over the last few weeks. Over 3 weeks I have lost 24 pounds, and it's largely thanks to the motivation that this unit provides. I should state that count of "steps" is partially inaccurate depending on what you're doing, but it's all motivation in the end. It's easy to wear and non intrusive, and the unit is waterproof so it's great in the rain or even if you're taking a shower. Battery life has been as promised, and usually lasts about 5 days. Charging is very straightforward and does not take very long. I've worn it consistently for 3 weeks and it still feels solid around my wrist. The 5 LED display is easily visible. I use the silent alarm and I really enjoy that feature. I usually leave my cell phone charging in the living room at night, so it's nice to have an alarm clock around my wrist. The fitbit app leaves a little to be desired, but it does sync and display the most vital information. The only thing stopping me from giving this product a 5 star rating is the lack of a display. Every other fitbit tracker has a display with a readout, so you would think the most expensive one would also have that feature. I bought this because the Nike Fuelband doesn't work with Android, and the display on the Nike product is really nice to have because it functions as a clock and shows a count of your activity. With the Flex I have to get my phone out every time I want to see how I'm doing since the lights only give an estimate of where you're at. Overall, I really enjoy this product and it's definitely helped to keep me motivated and active. I would recommend this for the person that is just trying to be active or get motivated. The inaccuracy of the steps may be a little off putting to the avid runner or enthusiast.

Provides Very Useful Information
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I both got one and we are very happy with it. It seems to be pretty accurate. Even the sleep tracking. It looks very nice and most of the time we don't even think about it. We don't have to worry about losing it either. The online profile is very nice and it is helpful to be able to log our food intake and track our calories in vs our calories out. It's also nice to be able to see everything in a graph. I can look at the graph for my steps and see during the day when I'm at my desk and then I get up and walk somewhere. It really shows you how little you move around sometimes and can help motivate you to take a break and go walk around.

Good Activity Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good - it's overall a good size... small on wrist and fits well. You can still wear a stylish watch if you choose to do so. It does a good job of calculating steps overall. The battery life is pretty good as well Bad - Not waterproof. No notifications, you have to open the app to see how many steps you've taken... it doesn't have a display that tells you how many steps you've taken. It also doesn't calculate steps while you are pushing a grocery cart. You have to put it on your shoe or around your waist. Overall, it would recommend this for someone who isn't looking for much other than a standard pedometer.

First-Time FitBit Buyer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The FitBit is very motivating. It's easy to use and encourages you to meet your daily goals, and it interfaces very well with other apps, like MyFitnessPal, to track your diet and exercise. The battery lasts a long time, but you have to be proactive about keeping the battery fairly full so that it doesn't run out on you without notice in the middle of the day. I rated it only a 4 on Reliability because there needs to be an alert to tell you when the battery is within a day of running out. I also find the price to be a little on the high side.

Great Little Activity Tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my FitBit Flex a few weeks ago and so far I think it's a great little activity tracker. For the most part it tracks my steps and calories burned as accurately as any pedometer would, but what I like about the Flex is that I wear it on my wrist and don't have to worry about taking it off and possibly loosing it. It is truly water proof, I wear it in the shower with no problems at all. I know it is very accurate when it calculates my sleep pattern because sometimes I make note of the times I get up at night and check it against the Flex the next morning. it's always on the mark. If anything it's a cool little device that will help motivate you to beat your previous days results. It's cool to see how many steps you take in a day, week and even for the month. It syncs on its own and has a great App for your smartphone. I haven't had it too long so I really don't know how durable it will be for the long haul. At first it's a little tough to snap it closed, but in time it loosens up and snaps on your wrist with no problem. I would recommend it

Fitbit Flex with ease
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Fitbit Ultra for a year, and the part that clips to your shirt, eventually broke in half, so I decided to get the Fitbit Flex seeing that it's a bracelet I figured it would last longer, I LOVE IT. I forget I'm even wearing it, the size is easy to adjust, it stays charged for a few days, has the silent alarm so I don't wake my husband, and vibrates when I've made my goals throughout the day. The only down fall is that it doesn't count stairs climbed, but honestly that'ts not important to me. I love how it tracks my sleep and how I cant sync it with a free Fitbit account, or I in my case I have it synced with my SparkPeople account to count my steps and exercise. It is waterproof, but I haven't tested it only because I take off all my jewelry when I shower out of habit. No major complaints my way!
