It tracks your steps and miles each day. It will also store the data so you don't have to sync every day (of course you will want to for your progress).

Makes you self conscious of moving

I love the flex because I wear it on my wrist and really forget that I have it on.

excellent motivation tool for walking

Also it is great how when you log your food eaten, it knows the number of calories, protein, etc.
