    Great Concept, Lacks Execution

This little fitness tracker has plenty to offer. Combined with the app, it allows you to keep track of your calories burned and consumed. It also tracks sleep water and weight and other health statistics. The first problem is the accuracy of the calories burned. A lot of times you have to manually adjust this number is you want it to be accurate. The app lacks real integration into workouts and other aspects of your fitness regime. The quality is also an issue. The charger doesn't make great contact with the device. There were lots of times that the device should've been fully charged, but was still low on battery due to a bad connection. Lastly, my unit has quit holding a charge all together. When these issues are remedied, maybe this will be a worthwhile product.

    Great tracker

Weight Watchers cancelled my meeting location so I cancelled my Weight Watchers membership. My Fitbit Flex is an excellent and LESS expensive replacement. I've been using it for two days and it accurately measures my food intake and calories burned. It not only tracks my activities, but it also tracks my sleep pattern. It is much more accurate and provides much more information than the tracker I was using with Weight Watchers. The only problem that I have had with the Fitbit is that the charging cable is defective and you have to tape the tracker on the cable in order to charge it. Reading the "HELP" section on the Fitbit website it appears that this is an ongoing problem, but I emailed Fitbit customer support and have requested a replacement charger. Based on what purchasers have posted on their website, Fitbit will exchange the charger free of charge so I am not worried about this issue. Highly recommend the Fitbit Flex as an accurate/comfortable tracker.

    Got one for X-mas

I'm not usually a wearable tech person but got this for Xmas. It's been both frustrating and interesting at the same time. I think the LED's are a bit off at times and you have to use the dashboard/app to keep track of it. Sleep mode is what I find interesting so far, somehow tracks your movement and sleep pattern.

I recommend the Flex to anyone looking for a good quality product that will sync wirelessly with your smart phone. Great for tracking steps and calculating calories burned. The FitBit dashboard on the website makes it easy to track your meals, workouts, etc..

Best Activity Tracker For The Money

After researching many of the top fitness trackers in this class, I chose the Fitbit for several reasons. First off, it looks nice, and they even offer several different colored bands. The small electronics portion of the device itself is slid into the band and not built into it like many of the others. This makes changing the band color easy and you don't get tired of wearing the same and only color. It includes a Bluetooth USB dongle that allows you to sync wirelessly to a PC or laptop (which it does automatically when you get within about 20 feet of it). This was a big feature for me as my smart phone does not have the new Bluetooth 4.0 that some of these trackers will only work with. It has compatible apps for both Android and Apple and if your smart phone does have Bluetooth 4.0, it will sync automatically to your phone without having to plug anything in. The app looks nice and isn't cluttered or silly. It also has a web presence that allows you to log in and see expanded details of all your stats (steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled, etc.). It's a well thought out site that allows you to see your trends as well as current stats and also offers a social aspect that allows you to see how your friends stats compare to yours. The Fitbit also has a sleep tracker, and while I didn't buy it specifically for this feature, I found the information interesting enough to make me want to keep wearing it to bed. I'm very satisfied with the Fitbit and enjoy the information it shows me about my workouts.

I wear my FitBit Flex everyday. love checking the smartphone app for steps taken, calories in/out, sleep logs, food logs, all easy to do. I also love earning badges for accomplishments. It takes dedication and commitment to get healthy. the Flex helps make the work a little more tangible and enjoyable.

I have bought mine flex almost 2 weeks ago now. I was also very excited about this product as I have not worn a fitness tracker yet and after all the research I found this one and decided to wait. Syncing through my iPhone and not being tethered to my computer to sync it up was exactly what I needed since I am on my phone all day for work. I thought it was a little inaccurate at first, but after just waiting and playing with it daily, it seems to be ok. I know tons of people are giving negative reviews so far, but not here. I left the app open and walked a bit, it did lag a bit in counting the steps but for the most part it was spot on, nothing is 100% perfect. At no point was I missing hundreds of steps or miles as it may be in some cases. I did get the step count thing while i slept but that seems to have stopped. I wear it on my dominant hand and clicked the appropriate options in the settings. I was concerned about the calories burned while sleeping, although I knew that this was true but really unsure about over 500 calories when i sleep sometimes less than 7 hours. Apprently the average person burns about 77 cal/hr while sleeping. So i guess the math works. If you are not moving your arms while say on an eliptical trainer, it is not going to count every step. If you pay attention to how it works, you can make small adjustments to compensate. I am thoroughly satisfied and would recommend to anyone. I like how most people don't even notice it, so i don't have to explain what the hell it is and why i wear it. I don't need to advertise I am trying to lose weight or even secretly scanning barcodes to count calories on myfitnesspal. great product, look forward to the updates on the dashboard.

    Awesome Product - Extremely Durable

This is an extremely good product that I would recommend to all of my friends who are looking to stay active. I left my Fitbit Flex outside under the snow for 3 months and it still worked in the spring when the snow melted. It has allowed me to be a much more active person while at the office because it is a reminder that I shouldn't just be sitting around all day.

Must read directions on how to use it

So overall I am okay with the purchase. Price point is solid, website and tracking is solid. I ran 7.16 miles this morning and when I came back to sync it, it only showed 6.7 miles. So not as accurate as it should be to be honest. Slept with it last night and I would say the sleeping part of it was accurate. When I awoke I remembered to look at the clock to remember those times and when I looked at the report this morning it was spot on. Again overall I like the purchase but do not expect dead accurate results. I don't think you should ever expect that from any of these devices to be honest.

I got this device to help me get to the gym more regularly and it does that.Being able to track my steps makes me conscious of how much I have r have not , exercised in a week and as a result, I am going more often. While it does not automatically track calories (you can manually enter them in the app), it does serve as a gentle reminder as it sits on your wrist.

Could be a lot better, Downgraded device..

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Previous Fitbit owners be warned.. This device is very much a downgrade from both the ULTRA which is what I used and the ONE. This device only allows a single "goal progress" to be set and monitored in the device at a single time. In order to change the goal monitoring you must log into your Fitbit account and choose what goal you want to be able to monitor within your settings of the Flex. The progress options you have to monitor are steps, distance, calories and very active minutes. It would have been ideal if they would have programmed in a tap sequence to allow you to at least change what goal progress you wanted to view within the unit itself rather then going into your account and changing device settings. Regardless its very minimal upfront quick reference information that prior units easily displayed and you will quickly miss. One other thing that lacks in this device is the ability to track stairs, I'd assume because of arm swing the unit would probably not be accurate at all and that might be why it didn't have this feature, but it was one that I grew to like and now miss a lot. For accurate tracking I did have to log into my account and input my stride distance in order to make the device a lot more accurate. New users of Fitbit may not mind this device as they will have no base line to go from but prior Ultra and One users might not care for the lack of features this device has upfront and the overall "lack" of thought into the development of the device. A few fixes to improve future Flex bands which I would guess might happen would be to minimally have a small screen rather then just LED blinking lights to display information and direct goal display changing. Lastly if you do not own the newest of devices for syncing count yourself out from utilizing the devices boasted easy quick syncing. The device will not sync with anything other then Bluetooth 4.0 and select devices within this 4.0 category so you will be using the USB sync provided which takes away from what should have been a backwards compatible Bluetooth sync device. I own a Ipod 4th gen and Galaxy Tab2 and of course the device cannot sync with them because of the "future 4.0 " device outlook that Fitbit decided to go along with thinking everyone will purchase new phones, ipods etc. Regardless your stuck going back to your base computer to sync. Overall I would have expected more from Fitbit and the device is not worth the price, this unit is basically the Fitbit ZIP in a smaller water resistant wrist band. We all know that fitbit can do programming upgrades but at this current time the device has fallen way short of what you might expect.

I have had my Fitbit Flex for about a year now and have logged 4,410,556 steps. The flex is pretty simple to use, the website and the application are also easy to use. This is a great device because it tracks sleep patterns/steps and the only real time you have to take it off is to charge. The only negatives I have are that the band breaks after a while I have purchased 3 in the past year. Also The Flex will no longer charge. I do not know if my issue is isolated or not, however, I do not think I will buy another Fitbit. I will probably try another tracker instead.

This is a pretty neat little device, but as one other rater said, don't expect much out of it. It's an expensive pedometer. My only complaint is that it isn't interactive. I feel like it could be sold for much less than it is, especially compared to trackers like the Nike + Fuelband. I liked that it synced with my MyFitnessPal app, and it seemed pretty accurate regarding the number of steps I took. I do not like that I can't see the number of steps I took right on the band. I am returning this device today and have already replaced it with the Nike + Fuelband, which costs the same as this device but is more interactive.

I originally purchased the Fitbit Flex since the bands were interchangeable. This fitbit came with two bands which was great -- I traded with a friend so that I'd have two small bands. This is also the only model currently that works with a certain luxury brand. It logs what I need. I wish though, that it could display my steps when I tap it, rather than just dots. The alarm feature is also great. Since using this model, I'm actually on my second one. The first one died on me and fitbit was able to send me a whole new one under warranty even if I didn't purchase it from them.

You must be 18 to create a profile through Fitbit. Great product for my niece. She likes the interaction through the lights and vibration and then tracking her steps through the day. Great tool to provide an interactive activity motivator for a preteen. Band snaps on tight and stays on.

So far I'm loving the FitBit Flex. It keeps a good count of my activity during the day (and promotes me being more active during the day) as well as helps me with tracking my sleep patterns, an area of improvement for myself. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family member.

I picked up the Flex from Best Buy. So far I am enjoying the thing and attempting to test its accuracy. In general, it seems pretty accurate, but it definitely adds the occasional steps when sitting down or moving your arm. The software itself is great. It has a real-time mobile app that tracks activity and a web interface to match. Be aware, this will only sync with certain phones with Bluetooth 4.0. The list is pretty limited right now. If your phone isn't compatible, you can always have it sync up to your computer with a bluetooth dongle. I also want to mention that you can set a silent alarm. The Fitbit Flex will vibrate at the time you set. The sleep monitor is decent and shows when you were awake and asleep. It is not as detailed as other apps like Sleep Alarm on iOS. It appears to be very accurate from my use with it. The downsides? Well it doesn't track stairs. On the web interface it always shows "Curious about your daily claim?" but the Flex doesn't track this while many other Fitbit models do.

Comfortable & stylish, but lousy band & clasp

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Overall, Fitbit Flex is a comfortable, stylish, and very compact activity tracker. It provides good basic information without needing a bulky display, and provides more complete information through its computer app. But the Flex has several problems and limitations that preclude my recommending this otherwise spiffy device. Worst of all is the LOUSY, hard to attach, and easily broken plastic band. Its snap-on clasp can be very hard to fully close with just one free hand. It's so tiny that it's easily lost. And, if not fully engaged, it's easy to detach with risk of dropping or losing the device. There's also a very weak glued joint at the light window that WILL fail after just a few months of use. It cannot be effectively re-glued. Frequent replacement bands significantly ups the overall cost of ownership. There are much better after-market bands available, but good ones are quite expensive, often costing way more than the device itself. Also, while the flashing lights display is very compact and stylish, it presents quite a learning curve to understand what they all mean. Particularly annoying is the "sleep mode" which engages seemingly randomly and is complicated to get out of. Overall, I recommend opting for the slightly larger Fitbit ChargeHR with its digital display, advanced information, and far superior band, or selecting another brand such as the comparably priced Jawbone UP2.
