However, when it comes to notifications it is a hit and miss for when it actually vibrates to let me know I have a notification. The fit bit also always seems to want to keep the app running and not closed on the phone to stay "synced". In the past I have never had a fit bit that insisted to stay open for the app to continuously sync.

If it's not running, you may experience delayed notifications, syncing issues, GPS disconnection,and incomplete firmware updates. 1. In the Today tab, tap Devices.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. For each item, review and adjust your notifications settings.

The band itself if very comfortable.
