Absolutely love this thing... keeps me motivated and challenged, and striving to keep my activity on an acceptable level. On more than one occasion, I've found myself walking around the block before turning in for bed so I could reach a specific threshold. Oh yah... and it's helped me to lose just over 30 lbs in the last two months.

I have found this to be very accurate for measuring steps, distance, floors (their name for climbing 10' inclines) but not calories. No matter how many times I have asked them how they calculate calories expended I always get non-sensical answers or they simply copy and past what is on their web page. On consecutive days I will walk similar distances but on one of them I will have climbed many more inclines or actually climbed more flights of stairs. Yet the calories burned does not seem to reflect this greater effort. So I asked them if they use any factor for floors or rate of walking. All they ever tell me is that they measure the 10' elevation change with an altimeter, and they calculate calories based upon BMI (body mass index). Both are interesting topics and I often marvel how such a small device is so accurate on step counts and elevation changes. But their calculation of calories is a mystery to me and does not follow logic. Maybe the person that set up that part of their software quit and did not leave them the algorithm used.

Great device. easy to set up ... the app/website work terrific. Very intuitive interface. It's nice that it works with many different third party apps so you can go beyond the capabilities of the device. I was debating a wrist band but decided on the one because you can essentially "hide" the device. It has worked out great for me so far !!

    Better than the Jawbone UP

I previously owned a Jawbone UP that I had to have replaced 3 times. After it broke for the fourth time, I thought I'd try something new. I saw that a number of people I know used and recommended a Fitbit and I'm glad I listened. It's very easy to set up and use. I carry mine in my pocket throughout the day and switch it over to the sleeve to track my sleep. One of the things I really like is that you can enter everything right from the app. I can enter my weight, body fat % and water. I knew I drank a lot of water throughout the day, but now I see that I drink more than I thought. I also like that it tracks stairs climbed (the UP does not), but it's not completely accurate as it said I climbed over 200 flights of stairs when I went hiking. There is an exercise tracker in the app, but I don't use that. It's limited on the activities and I prefer to use RunKeeper instead. I also don't check my numbers right on the device, even though I can. The device is always in my pocket and it's just as easy to look at my iPad/iPhone.

I love my FitBit One. I got one for my mom, sister, and myself. It has really made me see how active, or inactive, I really am. I can definitely say that the FitBit has encouraged me to use the stairs when I would normally use the elevator. The app is easy to use and setup. I look forward to being more active and tracking my progress.

Simple, accurate and easy to use activity monitor. I prefer the clip on feature, as I do not like bracelet styles. Would recommend to anyone interested in gauging everyday activity and exercise. Probably not detailed enough for the true exercise enthusiast.

This tracker is awesome to help me stay in line with my fitness goals. It syncs with MyFitnessPal which I use religiously and it also syncs with my Walgreens account for which I get extra points/cash for meeting my steps goal. Has a great sleep tracker but I choose not to use that part. Also love that my fitbit syncs with my iPhone completely hands free and automatically with the Bluetooth capability. I had 3 of the previous version, the Ultra's and I lost all 3 due to its design then. The new "One" design is grippy and smaller and that sucker is definitely NOT accidentally being pulled off my waistband easily. Other than it not being waterproof, this tool is absolutely amazing, especially all the data and stats that will be at your fingertips, I'm a geek when it comes to that!

I love my fit bit. It keeps me motivated to walk!!!! I have owned small step counters but they never give this much detail and always seem to be off. You have to keep track of this one, due to it's small size, but I absolutely love it. I can see how many steps I take and how many flights of stairs I make. I love being able to track it on the web site and even more so that I am able to use the fit bit app on my Samsung galaxy 5 phone to update it. Works well and my charge lasts AT LEAST 5 days, often more. A must have if you want to count your steps and even watch your sleep. I now know why I am not so wide awake in the morning, as I don't sleep well at night. Flip flop is my pattern but knowing that means I am finding ways to sleep better!

I love this item. I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to get more active. I try to out do myself on a day to day basis. It truly motivates me to keep moving. It's been fun to see my sleep patterns also. I always slept a little restless, but this has helped me to see that it happens the same time each night. Amazing product.

I purchased the FitBit for my wife as a gift and now she's in love with it. She's been challenging herself to complete daily challenges. I believe that the FitBit provide motivation for people to exercise. P.S. My Wife did prefer the "One" model over the "Flex" because she can still have it on even when she's wearing a dress.

This is my second Fitbit One; the first went through the washing machine and didn't survive (word of advice; get the BBY protection plan)! Since having the fitbit and just using the built in recommendations for my age and height I have lost 50 lbs by just walking and watching what I eat! Get this device you wont regret it.

Handy gadget with multiple features. Unobtrusive and integrates well with "My Fitness Pal" that I've been using for the past 2 years. Should have had at least a minimum of written directions in the package. A Quick Start Guide would have been nice. Not everyone is highly tech savvy or clairvoyant. What seems obvious to some is not obvious to all.

I have been pleased with the fitbit so far. The only issue I have had is that, on occasion, syncing the tracker with the phone app or desktop app doesn't work if the app cannot talk to the fitbit.com website. Otherwise, the tracking seems to be very accurate. It tracks basic activity functions, and I am especially pleased with the sleep tracking and silent alarm. The alarm isn't enough to wake me if I am overly tired, however. It has helped me get a good sense of my quality of sleep though. Overall the tracker is giving me a nice way to set activity goals, and track my progress towards making those goals. Being able to connect and compete with friends only enhances the experience. I definitely recommend the fitbit for basic activity and sleep tracking.

The old pedometers never worked with my body (morbidly obese) - so I never really knew how many steps I would take. This works! I've tested it (counting steps, then checking the number). My only complaint is the night time wrist holder... my Fitbit has fallen out and gotten lost in the bed! I wear it inside out now, so that has "fixed" that one small problem! Otherwise, the only other thing I'm frustrated with is my low numbers!!!

Overall, I think this is a great fitness tracker. I love that you don't have to wear it on your wrist. I clip it to my pant pocket every day. It stays discreet and out of the way. Only thing I have noticed is that if you workout to a DVD it doesn't really give you much credit as far as 'steps' and calories burned. So, basically, it's strictly based on actual steps you take...not workouts that consist of push-ups and what not.

I bought the fitbit one because my original Force was starting to fall off my wrist due to age. I thought the One would be the next best option since it can be worn on the bra. Unfortunately, the one day I wore it on my pants, I lost it. This tracker seems to be more accurate but I would recommend not wearing it on or around the beltline.

I decided to try this out after an acquaintance told me about it. It is really easy to set up and use. The battery lasts over a week without charging. I really like how it tracks the number of flights of stairs throughout the day. The wristband that comes with it to wear at night is actually quite comfortable, and I don't notice it at all until the silent alarm starts going off. The silent alarm feature is quite nice and effective. I was able to set it for just Monday through Friday, and I have found that it is quite difficult to ignore a rhythmic buzzing against my wrist in the morning.

I have used step counters before, but they fell off my clothing. The Fitbit One is easy to conceal and has a long rechargeable battery life. Even though I know the messages are computer generated, something about using my first name and saying something encouraging is motivating and gives me the impression I have a personal coach.
