Decent fitness equipment but shortish battery life

It's been a good watch/fitness tracker. It took a few attempts for it to sync up to my cell but has worked fine since. The only real complaint (as with most fitness trackers and smart watches) is the battery life. On a full charge it usually lasts at max 5 days without using recording activities.

Its not as pretty as an Apple watch, no color screen or addition apps etc, but to monitor steps, get a decent heart rate reading, and not be dependent on your phone for gps, this does the job well. It also alerts you to and lets you read text messages on it and alerts you to phone calls! One day if Apple watch gets thinner, becomes less dependent on your phone and does heartrate better, and has a waterproof solution like this is all for under $300 maybe I will change over, until then this cheaper alternative gets it done. Satisfied with the purchase!

I got my Fitbit for Christmas, and I have enjoyed using it since! I keep up with my caloric intake and my water intake all day. It has helped me get my daily step count up, didn't realize how stagnant I actually was at my job. I also really like to see how restless I was or wasn't while sleeping. Helps me to actually see it with me up and down some nights with 2 kiddos.

I did much research before purchasing this. Love the GPS system in the Surge compared to the Charge, The Heart Rate monitor is great for keeping up with movement all day long.

No issues with this product other than the recharge requirement. This is the first "watch" I've owned that requires me to remember to charge it every 3-4 days. But even when you're running low it still has some juice. If you forget the charging chord somewhere that's a problem. Otherwise fantastic!

The only thing that isn't completely accurate is the heart rate monitor. It usually takes about 3-5 minutes for it to catch up if you are putting your body through a high intensity workout. Other than that, it's a pretty awesome smart watch and I would recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale. Don't believe the really negative reviews, it works as described.

The watch performs as advertised. It tracked my resting heartbeat (64), my sleep, my fitness and activity levels, and it was very comfortable! I'm a person who has never worn a watch before. So there was some adjusting to now having something on my wrist. But I believe the Surge fits well.

I read thoroughly and went through all the claim of several similar products. I bought the Surge because my son has one and likes it. After my purchase, I learned the truth. I found several extremely misleading claim between what this product can actually do and what is claimed. The picture on the product packaging and generally distributed show the watch display with date, time and heart rate monitor simultaneously. The watch is not capable of doing this. I called Fitbit to see why mine didn't. I got some kind of double talk non-answer excuse saying it was pictured like this to show the variety of functions available. I also found out that this watch is not capable of syncing with most AT&T cell phones. It seems to like Verizon. Something that Fitbit failed to include in their sales literature. Navigating through the options is not nearly as user friendly as they make it sound either. Therefore I don't or can't use a lot of the bells and whistles I thought I had purchased.

Everything I wanted in a fitness tracker!

I have owned several smart watches, fitness bands and others. I only wanted a fitness tracker that tracked steps, distance, stairs, heart rate, and sleep. I also wanted to have GPS, and notifications from my phone (only text and calls)! The fitbit surge has been almost perfect. I had problems with keeping it hiked up 3 fingers from wrist bone when exercising, I sweat a lot and it kept slipping down my wrist. Easy fix, I now wear a wrist sweatband to keep it in place, and it fixed the problem! If you mainly want a fitness tracker with only text and call notifications, this is the best thing ever!

I hardly take Surge off my wrist. I am an avid walker and Surge faithfully records my miles, heart beat and sleep times. It also shows my text messages and emails.

Pros is it does all it says and pretty well, cons is that the band causes a rash when wet so don't shower in it.. like you may in any other fitness water proof watch and charging port sucks sometimes if not situated just right it won't charge battery life is about 5 days with no GPS use

For what it does, it does it well, but it has obvious limitations. If you're a fitness enthusiast, you probably won't be satisfied. Most of the features can be found with free apps, but having this keep up with your steps helps to motivate you to keep moving. Being able to keep track of goals and nutrition information online keeps you focused as well.

I Love my fit bit Watch. Working 3rd shift and having 4 kids I like the fact that you can keep track of your sleep patterns. I also like the fact that it knows if you going up and down stairs. I also connected it to my fitness pal account so I can keep track of all my calorie intake for the day and it looks at how many calories you burn for the day on your fitbit watch and it keeps you at your goal. I like that it is a nice manly watch also, and easy to read time, and easy to use. The battery life lasts for like 4 to 5 days. It would be nice if eventually they could make it last longer.

I have enjoyed using and wearing this fitness watch. It is user friendly. It tracks my steps, exercise ( hike, eliiptical, workout, and weights) and run (free run and treadmill) In addition, it monitors my heart rate and sleep. I use it to remind myself to go to bed at a reasonable time during the work week. Finally, it sends text messages from my phone. What more could you ask for?
