I went back and forth between ordering an Apple Watch or buying the this watch. Ultimately, for the price point and what you get, I cannot complain. I"m skeptical about the heart rate monitor, but all other functions are perfect. It's actually motivated me to do more cardio because of the fitness tracking and challenges with you friends.

This is the top of the Fitbit products, only thing is that this was a gift for my partner, and he wore it and enjoyed it for a while but eventually it became too much of a burden. The watch itself is bulky, the screen is something you need to care of especially if you do not have warranty on it and if you get it through Best Buy, as it was explained to us, it does not cover physical damage to the actual watch screen. He still uses from time to time but it's not really comfortable to use, and not the most attractive thing either. So unless you are getting this for yourself and don't mind spending a little extra on something you wont wear daily cos of comfort, then this is for you, but for practical use and comfort, I don't recommend it. It still does everything it was built for and the settings and features are good.

I bought this for my boyfriend despite the fact he wanted the Apple Watch. What may not be important to some, the sleep pattern tracking attracted me to the Fitbit's. The only regret I have with his Surge is not purchasing the extended warranty with Best Buy. After 3 months of having it, he got a crack on his screen with his line of work. After upgrading mine, I made sure to get the warranty. Highly recommended!

Excellet Product, with band design flaws

This fitness watch excellent, however I take off one star for the design of the band. It could be better. The actual display as well as part of the band is a solid piece. Another words expect it to fit as a solid piece from the entire width of your wrist not just where the display part is. The downside of this is that if is not snugly secure on your wrist and it twists around slightly it will hurt your wrist bones. Unless you want it to be constantly situated higher up on your arm as Fitbit suggests for maximum HR readings and wearing it tight, loosening it a bit and wearing it where you would normally wear a watch will come into contact with your bones as it moves around a bit. Also the clasp is not all that secure make sure you have the excess tail tucked into the loop and pushed into the holes.

Bought as a gift. Loaded with health monitoring features. They loved it. Took a few days to get used to size, as they had a Fitbit - HR, but now they wear it 24 hours a day.

The Surge does almost everything I wanted. It does not allow for heart rate to be displayed continuously, but that seems to be the only thing I would like that it doesn't do. Other than that, I love it. PS - wish it was swim proof.

Very nice fitness watch that expands on Fitbit's former top of the line product with a larger face, heart rate monitor, and touch screen. The band is a little snug (I bought a L and wish I had an XL), which is why I dock it one star.

I really like how I can see who is calling and read my text messages. I also really like the silent alarm. I also like how I can see the clock and read how many steps I have taken from it. Over all I like this Fitbit Surge

It seems to count steps pretty well. I am not sure about the heartbeat so much. I do like the text/phone call alerts. I can wander around my office area or the house and get the messages so I don't have to carry my phone.

So I have been shopping for a solid wrist HR monitor and GPS in one that has a somewhat pleasant display. I purchased and returned this watch after its first use. Not because its a bad product, but because it didn't meet my standards. I ended up downgrading to the HR Charge and then buying an additional Garmin 920xt forerunner. I am a triathlete and when I am running, I need a decent sized screen that says HEY, YOUR HR is XXX. Cadence is xxx etc... I also need something that syncs with apps that I already use and this does not. If you are a upper level athlete, stick to the Garmin 920xt. If you are looking at these products, I would recommend sticking with the HR Charge instead of shelling out the additional $$$ for the Surge. Its nice to have a wrist HR with a graphical interface, but this one is sub par at best. Pros - Very useful for entry level athletes - accurate heart reading for a wrist HR monitor - accurate gps tracker - syncs with great app that tracks GPS and a whole lot of other interesting data Cons - Expensive for what you get - graphical interface is a lot smaller than portrayed - doesn't sync well with MapMyRun or Strava apps, but does sync. Needs tweaking Just buy the HR Charge and save your money for the Garmin 920xt Forerunner. You will be much happier.

Owned a Fit bit for about 18 months, recently upgraded to the Surge, and love it. The only issue I have is the battery, if you use the GPS on the exercise activity function you will have to charge it daily, otherwise the charge will hold about 2 to 3 days. The HR function is very accurate, I've checked it against other devices and it is within a single heartbeat.. Overall very satisfied.
