Purchase for hubby, training for half marathon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my husband and he loves it! It's easy to sync up, everything from the heart monitor, gps, personal stats, online tools, etc is great. I've read reviews where people are complaining about the battery life, heart monitor not working properly, etc. I think people are not correctly wearing it or have not taken the time to read instructions and properly charge or sync up the watch. My husband has never had an issue. This was a great starter watch for all the features it has to offer. You get what you pay for and this purchase has been a great investment so far

My husband loves his Surge FitBit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great gift for my husband! He really wanted a watch and fitness tracker all-in-one and this met his needs! He never takes it off. He really enjoys all of the features, especially GPS when he runs. The only negative he has about it is that it doesn't hold its charge, he needs to charge about every 1.5-2 days. Overall, great product!

Fitbit Surge activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the best and most durable activity tracker I have owned during the past two years. It does everything I want it to do and "takes a licking and keeps on ticking". It is not "unbreakable" but it is better than several of the others I tried and broke while being active. I need to monitor my heart rate and this does a great job, I like and use the steps and calorie counter as a reminder about my activity level needs for the day. When I get into an activity I can check my heart rate to be sure my heart rate does not get too high. My Fitbit lets me know regarding my sleep patterns which is helpful and it will track my exercising activities for calories. Definitely one of the better products in this category.

Surge to your fitness goals
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fitbit Surge is a pretty good activity tracker. A little bit to big and bulky, but otherwise nicely executed. It gives plenty of options for types of exercises and seams fairly accurate. The app works well on the iphone if you choose to keep up with what you are eating and what you are doing. I am glad you can use other apps too.

Fan of Fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the bluetooth capability to notify me when my phone goes off (especially helpful when in another room and/or ringer is low/off. Message will appear on screen when you touch it so you don't have to dig for the phone too. Needs to be charged every 4-6 days. My first gen fitbit lasted 7+ days all 3 years I had it; this one probably drains the battery more because of the vibrate notification of phone calls, etc. Only reason gets 4 stars and not 5 is b/c I have to constantly take it off and clean the band. Sweat accumulates b/t wrist and product, leaving salt behind when it dries. That salt irritates the skin on my wrist, resulting in basically a salt burn. This is probably b/c band on this is much wider than other fitbits so the sweat moisture doesn't escape as easily. It's ok as long as you clean it regularly - I clean band with an alcohol swab to eliminate the accumulated sweat.

Excellent step up from previous versions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does everything stated. Pros: heart rate feature excellent no strap across the chest. Easy to use touch screen. Cons: battery life more like 4 days and recharge time takes a bit. For me hard to get used to sleeping with a watch on. Jawbone was thin and didn't notice it as much. Top of the line in Tech at this point and for serious athlete or person looking to lose weight . I considered waiting for the apple watch but I don't need to answer my phone on my wrist. Although there is text and phone info with this unit as well. The idea is to get away lol.

Great GPS signal and accurate pedometer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GPS signal picks up quickly. Text and call notifications are handy if all you want to do is see who is calling/texting. You cannot reply, but it's good enough for me so I don't always have to check my phone to see who is trying to reach me. GPS signal locks on pretty quickly in my opinion. I have been a Fitbit Flex user for over a year and just like the Flex, the Surge is a very accurate pedometer!

Love it, but one big flaw
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my tracker. Has all features I need to maintain the visibility I need to keep a healthy lifestyle. Easy to use, although I wish the workout activities it includes were a little expansive. The big flaw is it's ability to deal with water. I have gone through four bands in 6 week, due to water, although Best Buy was fantastic about getting my issue resolved by replacing the band with no problems. You pretty much have to keep it from any water at any time. This is frustrating if you include water related activities in your healthy lifestyle.

Great watch!! Good band!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love that watch. I had the HR Charge at first and it was great but wanted the music sync and better gps. It's easy to use to track runs, lifting, biking, hiking, and really any form of exercise. The music sync feature is beneficial when running and syncs with whatever music is playing on your phone. Battery lasts a long time. I would highly recommend this watch. Only down fall is the band comes in two sizes and I wish they offered more for better fit but overall HIGHLY recommend.

A fitness watch that's actually a watch! Almost...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a long time looking for a fitness watch that was an acceptable watch so it could replace my actual watch, and I wouldn't have to wear two bands. This one fits the requirements, and looks great! Pros: -Measures things I want measured (steps, HR, calories) -Is moderately subtle. Can pass for a normal watch. -Has a vibrate alarm. -The soft band is actually rather comfortable. -Has GPS to measure hiking, running, etc... -The battery life is pretty darn good. I charge it for about 5 minutes, twice a day, while I brush my teeth and get ready in the morning and night, and other than that only have to give it a real dedicated charging about once every 6 weeks. -You don't have to tell it when you go to sleep. It just "knows". Though it doesn't pick up naps. -Looks great! Cons/Weaknesses/Dislikes: -Step count can be wildly inaccurate. Today at work I checked the step count, walked about twenty or thirty steps from the kitchen to my cubicle, and checked to find that it hadn't counted any of them. Sad. But it normally SEEMS to do ok. I wonder how accurate it actually is... -The HR monitor can be wildly inaccurate. I'm in pretty decent shape, but when I'm working out, and huffing and puffing, it usually reads a HR between 70 and 90. I highly doubt it. And it NEVER reads over 140. The highest I ever saw was 142. But it will frequently go to " - -". Sad. -You cannot set the alarm from the watch itself. It has to be set through a phone (or computer?). This is silly. There's no reason for it. -The phone has to be connected to the internet to sync using bluetooth with the watch. This I don't understand. -The bluetooth connectivity with a phone is spotty and inconsistent, even when the phone is within 6 inches. -There's no countdown timer in the watch. -There's no dedicated stopwatch in the watch. You have to use a workout. -It doesn't know how to gauge cycling. -There's no "inactivity warning or reminders" -Can get a little itchy/uncomfortable. I swap wrists while I sleep to give my left a break, and it seems to help.

Solid performance workout and everyday watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch will track hikes and runs with accuracy. You can use an app to display the route taken over program like google maps which can be kept in a personal log or an online blog. The only draw back is the power settings which need adjusting as to nit drain the battery from the watch and connecting phone.

Excellent fitness tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the fitbit Surge. I can track virtually anything exercise related, get daily and weekly results, can customize my own fitness activities, and with the GPS track my hikes. I love that it gives me notifications of when I'm approaching my goal, and especially when I've reached my goal. Battery life is excellent. Love it. Great motivational item.

Glad to have it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wonder what would have happened if I did ask the Geek guy to sync it with my phone, as it turned out the battery was dead. It took me most of a day to figure that out and get it charged. Now, 1month later, there are many pros and a few cons. It needs charged about once a week (no problem) as I keep it monitoring my heart 24x7. Being an older person with erratic sleep habits, I love seeing the chart showing how often I was restless or awake in the night. The software is very useful, but not perfect. If your a privacy nut, this isn't for you as it syncs online and Fitbit even e-mails you when it needs charged. I go into the app frequently throughout the day and it reminds me to drink water and as I try to enter my food consumed (which the app makes quite easy), it also encourages me to go for a walk, especially if I've indulged a bit too much. One can't get hung up on the calorie counter though because it's projecting to the end of the day: you eat a nice meal and you're in the red, but then you don't eat awhile or go for a walk and you end up under (yellow) frequently. Still, it's a good reminder. I'm still learning to switch it to exercise, especially 'workout' even for doing work around the house or yard, as it's amazing to see heart rate changes (I'm on blood pressure and high cholesterol meds), and the way Fitbit enters all the information into the app. I got the Surge for it's standalone GPS for bike riding, hikes, walks... and I love it and the maps produced in the app. I hope Fitbit or a compatible app eventually breaks down food consumed not just by calories but by fiber, protein, etc. This watch has significantly improved my ability to monitor and manage my health.

Picked the perfect fitness watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking at so many options I decided to go with the Fitbit Surge. I love this thing. Monitors my steps, all my exercises, my sleep, I can input food. Absolutely amazing. I find myself just walking around the house or stairs if I'm a few short of the daily goal. I could get addicted to this watch.

Wonderful Fitness watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and i recent upgraded our fitness trackers - me from a Fitbit Flex and she from a Fitbit One. We have found the surges to be wonderful devices to track exercise, sleep, steps, floors calories and heart rate. My wife has also enabled the Bluetooth messaging with her smartphone and gets her texts sent to the phone as a convenience.

My husband loves it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He loves it and all of its features. It tracks his heart rate well and is very handy during his workouts. He also likes and is motivated by the badges he earns with his steps. He has also mentioned liking the text notification feature, ability to change the clock face type, and sleep monitoring capability. One thing that would be nice is if it was more than water resistant. He's afraid to get it wet washing dishes and in the shower since it was pricey.

Does the job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only thing bad I would say about the FitBit is the battery. If you use most of features the battery will drain fast. To charge it over night takes away from the sleep tracker. It needs a battery and it needs charging. I would still recommend this to anyone looking for a tracker w/GPS.

Works well, but there are things I would add
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fitbit Surge works well as a fitness tracker. It has a step counter, altimeter for counting flights of stairs, heart rate monitor, and GPS for more precise tracking if you're out for a run. It does seem a bit sensitive though, and sometimes I'll wind up with steps or Active Minutes when I'm not really doing anything. I'm told that I can back these activities out using the Fitbit website, but I'd prefer to not have to do that. This isn't about the device itself, but I was surprised at how basic Fitbit's website is. Back when Nike+ was the big new thing, they had public challenges where users could sign up and form teams based on their age group, zodiac sign, favorite sitcom, or whatever, and then compete to see which team could put in the most miles. It's ten years later and Fitbit's website has fewer features than Nike+ had.
