This was a Christmas Gift and it was missing the part I needed to charge the fitbit. So I spent several hours trying to find another one, but everyone was sold out.

    Good watch, but short battery

I and happy with my purchase of the fitbit surge watch. My only problems with it is that it is unnecessarily large and that the battery life is not very long. I hope that in the future Fitbit addresses those things, but it is still a solid fitness watch.

The watch has a very nice look. However, the screen is black and white. The touch screen is very easy to use and the watch is easy to navigate. It has various exercises which you can enter to count calories burned. The heart rate monitor is excellent. No problems with it. The watch is so light it barely feels like you're wearing it. Charging is easy, and syncing it to a phone or computer is simple! Easy setup, easy use, VERY PRACTICAL!!!.

Could not complete the set up process on the computer to start it. No tech support was available to help me with that, so I returned it to Best Buy.

    Very Good Fitness Watch

I have tried the Fuel band and the Microsoft fitness band and found this one works he best for me. The Microsoft was great but too thick and the tightener would loosen a lot. The fuel did not have enough metrics. It took a week to get the Bluetooth to sync to classic on my iPhone. The screen is bigger than the other Fitbits but not as bright with the dim backlight. The workout tracking is more accurate than the Microsoft band. Sometimes it registers pulling my coat off as a finger swipe which is annoying. The arm buzz on incoming calls could be a couple more buzzes like reaching the fitness goal. It handles texts well on the screen well but if you don't immediately get the text you have to go to the main menu instead of the push button. With some improvements it could be great. $50 less at $199 like the Microsoft band would be a better price.

I bought this to help monitor and correct my sleep patterns and it has worked. Also an accurate step counter, flights climber, and pulse rate. The GPS chip is also accurate and a big plus.

I love this watch, I had the charge hr and upgraded to the Surge! I have no regrets, the gps feature is nice! The activity mode selector is really great you can select if you are doing weights, yoga, runnng etc, this makes it really nice to see your workout summary! The big screen on the watch is easy to read. The fitbit dashboard is the best out on the market, you can enter challenges with other ppl who have fitbits!

I originally purchased a similar watch that only had GPS, and I immediately returned when I heard about the Surge. Now that I have worn it for 10 days, I am very pleased with the accuracy and performance of the watch.

The Fitbit Surge is comfortable to wear and it has a decent screen, the screen is just big enough to see at a glance. The battery life is pretty good, I use it everyday and I have to charge it every 5 days. The GPS works really well and the heart rate monitor is fairly accurate. The Fitbit software is what really makes this product standout, I had a Garmin before and the Fitbit software is a whole better and I like having a Fitbit community that has group challenges.

    So far so good

I just bought this item yesterday however I ran it through a few tests last night and am happy with it. -Used it on the exercise bike -Ran around the block a couple times -Went up and down a few flights of stairs -Walked around during the day with it on The heart rate sensor seems to far more accurate than my last fitness watch (basis b1) It seemed to count my calories burned to my liking. For example, it did not show some outrageous # of calories burned nor did it show that after 45 minutes of cardio I had only burned like 12 or something. The swipe feature works fine, the buttons do what they say they should, it is really comfortable to wear. I think the watch band is nice (its not heavy and seems to be made of good material, while being thin and lightweight) I can not really think of anything I do not like about it. I know I have only had it a day (which is why I am giving it a 4* not a 5) but so far I'm not seeing any of the issues some of the reviewers say they have unfortunately had. IF I find something that is not working as it should be, or something fails I will be sure to update this review.

This watch was highly anticipated, and it met my expectations. I do not like large watches at all, but this one has been very comfortable for me. The gps, heart rate tracker, sleep tracker, are top-notch and work very well. For those whom are visual people, and like items that are colorful and pretty, wait for the Apple Watch. For those whom like functionality, trackability, and a longer battery life, get this watch.

GPS works great, tracks well, band design flawed

I bought the Surge because of the GPS capability as I cycle and ride motorcycles. Overall, it functions as expected for tracking steps/exercise/GPS/HR/etc. The music control function is helpful when working out in my gym and it's nice to be able to add workout shortcuts. The pace display during runs is very helpful with improving run times. My first Surge lasted about 2 months or so before the band broke completely. I figured since there were screws in the band that it was replaceable - I was wrong. I contacted Fitbit and they did replace my Surge for free but that let me know that my time with the Surge was limited. My second one has lasted longer but I'm at the 6 month mark and it is beginning to tear again. I believe that Garmin took all the complaints from the Surge and eliminated those issues with their new Vivoactive HR which will likely be replacing this Surge once it completely breaks.

I bought the Surge as a step up from the One. So far, enjoying the added features of the Surge over the One. One downside i wanted to point out, that doesn't effect this review, is the exercise tracking from the Surge syncing with MFP doesn't work. MFP will only push data rather than pull. Other that the use of this device with a calorie tracker like MFP, the product works just as expected. Receiving notifications of texts and calls works very well and is helpful throughout the day.

Liked some of the features but not the size

I purchased this tracker. I purchased a small because I am a woman of 5'4". This tracker worked great for tracking steps and heart rate. I was disappointed that I had to tell it I was exercising on a stairstepper. To track the activity on the stepper I had to tell it that was the exercise I was doing then click on button to start a stop watch feature. I loved the heart rate and step tracking but did not like the size of the item on my arm, not only was the tracker very wide it also stood up from my wrist way too far. It was comparable to wearing a really bulky men's sport watch. I could not see myself wearing this tracker all the time because of it's size and the way it tracked the exercise I was wanting to use it for was a deal breaker for me. Also in order for me to wear the tracker like it suggested I was using the 2nd to last hole on the band, this did not leave enough of the holes left on the band to put under the little strap that keeps the left over part of the band flat. I returned this tracker because for the few features I liked it was not worth the money I paid.
