    Unresponsive Touch Screen

    Posted .

Fitbit's quality control must be REALLY bad, as mine came out of the box with a touch screen that is not responsive. Although this may not sound like a big deal, it is. One cannot perform most functions without that functionality. So, back it goes. Save your money, folks, until Fitbit solves this problem.

This is my second watch of this same type. I love it's features and solid construction but the previous watch stopped syncing with my phone. I recommend getting the replacement plan.

Loved this product. Wore it everywhere. It is by far the best product for working out. The band wasn't the most comfortable though, as it left me with a small abrasion.

    Won't sync, User manual useless

Though the product performs all the fitness functions it claims the connectivity is a major problem. We struggled for a week trying to get the device to consistently sync with a Surface Pro 3. After searching their support site and all over the web and finding LOTS of reviews stating the same problem I'm returning it to BB to get a Garmin.

    Love my Fitbit Surge

I didn't shop for my fitness watch until I had determined the exact features I wanted. This one has everything I wanted except the automatic reminder to get up and move around. To fix that, I set repeating alarms for 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday. That seems to be working quite well. Love it!

Do to Android update to 5.0, Fitbit is unable to support syncing and has not updated their software. They also have problems with ios although they don't want to discuss it. Tech support is terrible.

Plain and simple! Don't buy this product! I developed a rash from wearing this watch with pictures to prove and after speaking with a representative; they never sent me the information so that I could have returned the product. They never offered any compensation or discount! They just told me to cut everything up and send it back to them...its been aft least 9 months and the return address and packing information still hasn't arrived! I'm glad I never cut everything up!

The band is screwed and glued to watch. The band lasted around two months and started to rip around watch. Fitbit replaced everything. That failed, Replaced again. That failed, ect, ect... Warranty expired, Fitbit will no longer support last watch they sent. $250 for something that lasts for 2 months? No thank you. Search Google for "fitbit surge band ripping".

I was impressed at first. Then that changed quickly. watch started getting condensation under glass ? Made the touch screen not work and lock up. Fitbit solution : put it in rice for 24 hours. While I understand the absorption properties of dry rice, if they consider this a solution for just perspiration exposure for a fitness watch...NO ! The Fitbit community message board has many complaints about this issue. The watch has not even been caught in the rain yet and is only 3 months old. Fitbit better step up and honor the warranty. Buy a Garmin. Too much money spent to except this type of quality from Fitbit

The device does what it's supposed to, but I had to have mine replaced less than 9 months into it because the band started breaking. I contacted FitBit and they sent me a new watch, but less than 3 months into it, one of the buttons doesn't work anymore. Poor quality for the price.

Died after 1 week of use....literally

For the week that I owned this, it was awesome. It felt a little bulky initially but that subsided after the first day of wear. I, of course, had to return it because it stopped working after one week. I'm going back to the Polar M400, which was very reliable for a couple of years.

The concept of this tracker is good and as long as you are active on beautiful days and don't sweat very much then it may last. Otherwise it will be rendered useless quickly. The actual device is sealed by the band and not self contained so water accumulates under the screen and it is quits responding to touch commands and you cannot see the screen. Check out the Fitbit website to confirm just how bad this problem is and I am on my third one in nine months. Fitbit has the best interface in my opinion so it is a shame their top of the line device is so flawed and that they still offer it for sale.

Don't Buy It (for one reason)

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A wristwatch is meant to be worn on the wrist. This watch's wristband has a widespread defect whereby the rubber connection's glue fails and the band separates from the body. I've had my watch replaced on warranty for this reason (painless process), but then the replacement has done the exact same thing just over a year from the original purchase, so now they'll only offer me a 25% discount on purchase of a new one. Apparently, Fitbit has decided to send out replacements until the 365 day period from original purchase runs out. Then you're stuck with an electronic gadget that you have to tuck into a pocket or maybe repair with duct tape? Other fitbit models have replaceable watchbands, but not this one. It's a common issue and Fitbit hasn't found a resolution other than attrition.
