    Don't Buy For GPS

I bought this watch to replace my polar FT7 that I'd had a ton of issues with. I'm relieved that I didn't purchase it for the GPS because the GPS feature sucks. That being said I absolutely love this watch. For me the HR monitor has been pretty dead on. I wear it running and working out at the gym. The only time I have issues with the HR monitor is while doing arm exercises or after an hour of profuse sweating but even then it recovers quickly once I wipe off the sweat. I didn't think I'd use the actual activity monitor but it's actually kind of fun, and makes me want to get up and move more often.

I wanted to know if the Surge is more for men? I want one but I keep seeing pictures of men wearing them so I'm confused.

Got it as a present and had an eye on it for a while. Love the features like heart beat monitor, steps and sleep tracker. I had no idea of the poor quality of my sleep ! The android app is great. Battery lasts for 4 around days. I would definitely recommend this but the price is bit expensive.

I was so excited when the Surge became available at Best Buy. I love it. The only thing I wish I would've done, is try the larger watch on before purchasing the small size.

    Condensation

What real good is a fitness watch that cannot take a little sweat? On the second one with condensation under the glass. All the good things are pointless if the watch cannot be used while exercising. Not swimming...not even in the rain. Just perspiration. Fitbit..you guys need to fix your product.

Good for monitoring my heart rate

It appears to be very accurate for reading my heart rate; however, I do not believe it is accurate on the steps taken. I do like the feature of knowing when someone is calling me on my iPhone.

I was impressed with the features available on this piece, so I bought it for my wife as a birthday present. Charged it for 2 hrs, set it up and then she took it for a 30 minutes run. When she came back the watch was completely dead. it would not reset, charge or anything. Returned it the next day and would wait for Apple watch!!

    Great Fitbit

So far it is a great watch. The only issue is that notifications from my Galaxy S7 isn't working. I did some research and turns out the Surge and S7 are fully compatible but should be soon. Everything else syncs up just fine (steps, calories, etc.) so we are just waiting for the update to allow the other notifications and it'll be complete. Awesome watch!

I decided on this model mostly for the music control feature and call/message notifications. I do have to say that the heart rate monitor is not always accurate. It's a little bulky, but I knew that when I bought it. Overall, it serves its purpose but isn't spectacular.

My first fitbit was the flex and I really liked it. Once my flex died I looked into purchasing a new and came across the reviews for the surge. There are a few things I really like about this watch. I like that I can change my music from the watch (great for walking on cold mornings). I like that I can add different exercise programs via the website. I also really like that I can view text messages and screen my calls when I don't have my phone on my person. Overall this is a great fitness tool!

    Very pleased with this purchase

I owned a regular Fitbit prior to this purchase. I wanted one that nc lauded HR. This does a great job monitoring both resting and active HR. The climbing of steps I've yet to quite understand how it monitors it though. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone. It does have a long battery life.

    Love Hate Relationship

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had a love hate relationship with this product. Now it is just hate. I loved it when I first got it but whenever I was on cardio gym equipment I would cross reference my heart rate and there was a huge difference in heart rate readings. Same thing with steps. I would cross reference steps with my iPhone and again not even in the same ball park. I would also cross reference the sleep tracker with my Sleep Number Sleep IQ and I could not get anything to align. So when I was trying to take my health very seriously all this product did was create doubt for me. Now maybe someone who has more knowledge than me can attest to the accuracy of all these other devices but it was very frustrating. That was the least of my worries though. The bigger problem is that the wrist band broke within the first year. It started by showing signs of cracking and peeling and eventually snapped. Customer service was great and got me out a new one. Hopes were high that maybe with my first one that I just got a bad apple. Nope, within 6 months the same thing happened again. As nice as the customer service was the first time I let the thing sit on my desk for six months. I run my own business and things like this unfortunatley take a back seat. I went online to Fitbit.com today just to let them know about the issue before I wrote this review. I got no where since the watch was out of warranty and they only warranty it from the original purchase date and not the replacement date.

I not really happy with my Fitbit. I've had it under 6months. My first ripped than I returned it and now it won't track my active minutes. It also is digging in to me I have it lose on me and still hurts. I had to write to Fitbit to see what I could do they could do anything. You can't even buy anything Accessories for it at the store only online. I'm going to return it and find something way better.

I have a Charge, but minimal added functionality of HR monitor was not enough to justify the added cost, so I returned the Surge.

Zero stars! I was very excited to start using my new fitbit. I completed the set up and software install and then tried to follow their quick setup guide. But, I wasn't able to do so because the touch screen didn't work. Restarted the fitbit...no good. Contacted customer support and was informed that fitbit was not functional and had to be exchanged. I think I will return it instead. So disappointed.
