I was an Apple Watch guy for awhile then I decided to switch to Fitbit. after the versa came out I decided to give a try. The watch is nice and good for work out but it has few flaws, like the screen won’t come one some times when I raise my hand up and also the Bestbuy employee didn’t tell me that there is a special version of this watch where it has more features.

I initially wanted the rose gold/purple FitBit, but it was sold out and my bank, this awesome, isn’t kind of “late to the party” to get with the new tech so they don’t support NFC. I got the rose gold/peach and it is a pretty watch. I love the sleekness of it and the functionality of it. It’s definitely a smart watch I’ve been waiting for. A few things though. It took a long time to update the software on high speed internet. I also don’t like that you can’t save clock faces. So for example instead of downloading a few to switch out, it only saves the current one and you have to download a new one again. On the Apple Watch, I had multiple clock faces and they saved and I switched them out often. The screen is also too sensitive. The slightest bump or tap and the screen turns on. I’ve turned off quickview (which stops the face turning on when I pick up my wrist) but quickview isn’t perfect. The band is comfortable, which it great, but it’s extremely difficult to remove and put back on. I also love that I can sync my info with Weight Watchers and the Apple Health app on my iPhone. I did have to swap it out because my first one straight out the box had a dent in the rose gold and though it may seem picky, this isn’t a cheap watch. The new one is perfect and I have a clear TPU rubber case for it. This will definitely get 5 stars if a few software tweaks are done. Happy with my purchase.

Overall, a nice watch with a few caveats...

This is a great watch. The only thing is the fact that the surface of the screen is openly exposed. I scratched my screen on a wall within days of opening it. Moving forward, I’d probably prefer a watch with raised edges that would help to prevent easily scratching the screen. Functionality is good. There are other watches that offer better syncing features but for what I use it for (tracking steps and text notifications), it does the job.

I purchased the unit to track my runs, get sleep tracking, and have some smart notifications. The connected GPS feature it has never worked and it required my phone to be in proximity to work too. The sleep tracking seemed to be accurate. I didn't like that the screen wasn't always on though. I ended up purchasing the Garmin Vivoactive 3. It is more customizable for workouts and has built in gps. It doesn't track sleep as well and the Garmin's screen isn't as good, but I love that the screen is always on and it looks like a normal watch too.

Very rarely the screen will freeze, but still will send updates from my phone. Regularly it will lose connection to get phone alerts, which is an easy fix of resetting bluetooth on my phone. Not sure if that issue is the Versa's or my phone though. Outside of those two issues I haven't had any problems with this smartwatch.

I wanted to like the Fitbit Versa, I have enjoyed their other fitness trackers and thought this would be on the same level while providing more functionality with my iPhone. I was wrong. The fitness tracking was fine with this as were all the fitness-related functions. I liked the extended battery life and easy setup (although taking over an hour) in the Fitbit app. What I didn't like were the design and smartphone integration. The Versa's physical size is larger than the 44mm Apple Watch yet the screen is smaller. The buttons don't feel premium and there plastic backing feels cheap. I wouldn't trust this watch in the pool despite being water resistant. The display quality is also pretty poor. Viewing angles are slim and I can easily see where the display ends and huge bezels begin. The display isn't in the center of the watch either. The bottom bezel is larger so Fitbit can put their brand under the display. It's an overall pretty poor design, something I would expect from a $100 Android Wear watch from a no-name company but not Fitbit. Also, the integration with my iPhone was poor. I could get notifications about missed calls, texts, and e-mails but accessing and dismissing the notifications wasn't intuitive. I also couldn't take any of the phone calls, fully read and respond to the texts, or anything else like that. It was only viewing the notifications. I knew I would have some limitations since I'm on an iPhone but I have used Android Wear and Samsung Gear watches with my iPhone that let me do more. I ended up returning this for a Series 4 Apple Watch. Yes, it's more expensive but the phone integration is much better and it has most of the same fitness capabilities.

I was enjoying my watch when I first got it for about 3 days but one day the screen went black and wouldn't come back on. Thankfully it has a year warranty so I reached out to fitbit and they are sending a new one. Hopefully the new one wont have that issue and I will get to enjoy all the features.

I was returning my charge 2 because the band kept breaking. They were all out of it because the charge 3 was soon to be released. I upgraded to a Versa. Bad choice. I love the features but even with a screen protector, the screen cracked within two days. You are no longer allowed to buy the protection for Fitbit at Best Buy. And Fitbit does not warrantee the screen. Until they can remedy the problem of the screen cracking so easily I would not recommend this product.

    Poor Quality for Price

Worst purchase ever. The strap kept ripping. Fitbit was good about sending new straps and supporting for the year that was in warranty, but they refused to do anything even a day outside warranty. Thus, I would suggest either purchasing extended warranty or looking for a different brand. Their screens are also terrible regardless of which watch you choose. My coworker had the smaller one and I had the Versa. Both of our screens kept messing up with lines showing like black pixels. Shortly after the warranty my screen just came undone: it fell off the watch and something disconnected so I could not fix it. Not worth the time and money spent. I know I'm late leaving feedback, but better late than never.

I was very excited to try this new Versa. I got it home to learn that Fitbit has been having issues with installing firmware, and you just have to wait. So after hours of unstalling/reinstalling the app and restarting the firmware installation process, I thought I was finally able to start checking out the functions, only to see that the screen is cracked! At this point I was livid, but I still wanted to at least look at the functions I had wasted so much time trying to load. Guess what!? The app still can't find the versa, and the firmware is still not installed! What an incredibly frustrating terrible experience. At this point I'm done with wearable tech altogether!

I was so excited to finally get the FitBit Versa! Literally two weeks into wearing it and the screen went all pixelated. I went online to the fitbit site as well as other reviews and apparently this is an issue with the Versa. Enough technology to take care of without worrying that this thing is going to break again. I returned it!

    CRACKED GLASS

I liked this watch at first and loved the overall look and function of it. We really enjoyed it for our runs and workouts. I bought a versa for both my husband and I for Christmas. The glass cracked on his watch within 3 months. Mine cracked within 4 months.... I used a fitness watch from Samsung for 3+ years before this one and NEVER cracked the glass once on that one. Versa couldn't even make it 6 months so pretty PO about that. Spend the extra money and buy a better quality watch! These are a waste of money.
