Nice upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My prior tracker was a Fitbit Blaze. Decided to get the Versa for a few reasons - ability to add aps, Fitbit pay, and updated style. Overall I'm happy with the Fitbit Versa. Pros: Lightweight. and comfortable to wear Bright easy to read display Fitbit pay (yes financial institutions available are limited, but the ones I use were available). Battery life - been going 4 to 4.5 days between charges. Waterproof Cons Bands are difficult to change. Not a deal breaker for me as I don't plan to change bands very often. Limited number of apps.

Great watch with one unforgivable flaw...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very solid fitness watch (not to be confused with a smart watch). The fitbit app and dashboard is solid and very insightful where you can gleam as little or as much exercise information as you want. The watch itself (I got the SE version) and band is very lightweight and comfortable. I did not try any music or extra apps as frankly the screen is so small, it's much less painful to run these apps via my iphone. So as far as monitoring and reporting exercise parameters (it would auto recognize when I did walking, running and elliptical exercises), the watch worked as expected but there was a fatal flaw that myself and from viewing their Versa support page, many others have experienced. When you leave the Versa on the charger overnight, you will sometimes wake up in the morning to find you have accumulated several thousand unaccounted for mystery steps during the night. Mine gave me 9,000 plus one night, 10,000 plus another but was fine (0 steps) on another. There was no external vibrating sources to account for the steps and indeed when viewing the step graph, they are unaccounted for but are there just the same. I might be able to accept some limitations but this type of failure on a core function is unacceptable and regretfully I had to return the watch. Perhaps in the future they will fix this failure that myself and many other's have experienced and I can try the watch again but for now, I cannot recommend the watch.

first one was a dud, second one is the real deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi, the first one of these I bought (yesterday) was a nightmare, it was awful to set up, it wouldn't connect, once it was finally set up it only worked for about 6 hours and then it would never sync again. I followed all of the troubleshooting guides online and in the fitbit forums. I was going to just return it and get something different, but then I decided to give the watch one more chance and exchanged it for a new one. What a difference, this one had an easy setup, everything worked the first time. It syncs, the apps all work, it even sends me texts (which the other one never did). Amazing how I can go from a 1-star review to a 5-star review. Everything I do with this one just works, the first one everything was a struggle. So, I recommend trying a different one if you have issues the first time you buy one. I am so glad I am not stuck with the other one!

Inaccurate readings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Positives: great battery life, it charges quickly, waterproof is handy and the sleep tracting is my favorite feature. It doesn't swallow up my small wrist like the other watches and it doesn't catch on things. It's also not terribly uncomfortable to sleep in. I like the weekly reports and the bar code scanner for tracking food works really well. Negatives: the sensor is not reading accurately which calls into question the effectiveness of the entire watch. When I take my watch off and set it on my nightstand the watch will continue to take heart rate readings that fluctuate as if it is actually on a wrist. It doesnt do this for a second and then show it's getting no readings. It gave me readings fluctuating +/- 20 bpm of my normal heart rate for over 10 mins of sitting on the side table. It also does not correctly register the flights of stairs I'm going up and down. Which makes me question if it's correctly counting my steps. I am very disappointed that the watch is not getting correct readings because it has such great reviews. I am hoping if I return and get another one that maybe this is a fluke.

I wanted to love it, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smart watch is not so smart. My Samsung GearFit Pro 2 had issues so after seeing this was coming out I was excited to try something new. I had high hopes for this watch but almost as soon as I got it I found that it was one disappointment after another. It's a beautiful watch, with the limited edition band and the eye catching design. It was one of the biggest things that appealed to me since I have struggled to find a functioning Android watch that wasn't too masculine. However, it felt cheap and plastic once you got your hands on it. The woven limited edition band is a pain to put on and while not uncomfortable, it's not the best material on your skin. As far as a smartwatch, it fails at everything else. It didn't want to sync correctly and after fighting with pairing for a while my notifications didn't work. Unsyncing and syncing it again worked but then I got 2 notifications instead of 1. I had to start all over again to get it to notify me correctly. You can't accept/reject calls, you can't send quick texts, it doesn't pair up with your alarms to allow you to dismiss or snooze them from your wrist. It is very limited in what banks it uses for Fitbit pay, even though I paid $30 more for the LE to have that feature and it basically was for nothing. The watch faces are super limited and you can only download 1 at a time, unlike having options to switch around like on my GearFit. The notifications (once they finally worked right) were a disaster. They were hard to really understand and follow correctly as they notifications panel was all thrown together with no real order or user friendly panel. If you got a text with a picture attached then you could't view the picture, just that an "image" had been sent. What this watch does well, when it syncs like it's supposed to, is track your health. The steps are mostly accurate and there are tons of great apps to help you keep up with all of your health tracking needs. That's it. Since I have a Note 8 I didn't have access to the app that does personalized workouts for you which was also a cool selling point that was a total fail for me. I read there were updates coming, and I totally understand a new device has it's bugs and issues, but there were way too many to count and who knows when those updates are coming out and what they will and will not fix. For $230 I expected WAY more than what I got. It seems like the people who were happy with it were coming from fitness trackers and not smartwatches. I can see the appeal there if you don't know any better, but my GearFit, which is supposedly way inferior to the Versa is leaps and bounds ahead of this disaster. On day 3 I realized I used it as a watch only for the entire day. There was no excitement in me anymore to explore the watch or it's features, only frustration and disappointment. It was then I knew I had to return it. Overall, I hated the Versa, and that is really hard for me to say since I was so excited for it. The design of the watch was literally the ONLY thing I liked about it, but even that felt cheap and not worth the the money I forked out. It was returned and I went back to a different Samsung device that I am so much happier with. Hopefully Fitbit will get it together with this thing, but I don't have high hopes.

A great start to a letdown
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely loved this watch when I first bought it. I'm a runner so I wanted to upgrade my alta to keep better track of my workouts. I bought the special edition, like I said loved it. I used it pretty much for only fitness not really for the smart watch aspect. Worked perfect for 2 months and a day I literally bought it April 17 and it started acting up June 18. Problems first started with the touchscreen only the 1 4 7 wanted to work then the whole screen wouldn't recognize any touch which is a problem when you have the device lock because of it having my credit card info on it. I couldn't even turn off the device lock on my phone because it wouldn't sync to my phone and kept saying it was having bluetooth issues. I went to best buy to see if geeksquad could look at it at least since it wasn't very old at all and they wouldn't even do anything more than look at my information on the computer to tell me I didnt buy the added protection plan or accept it for a return. I called the fitbit company itself hoping they'd have an idea to help or would let me send it in to be fixed, they had me send an email with a video and came number written in the video to verify authenticity and I still haven't received any indication that they've even started working on a solution. Well needless to say after the initial problem the versa locked up completely, wouldn't charge, and is sitting in the box it came in because its completely worthless now and I'm back to wearing my alta. Needless to say the first fitbit I'm really disappointed in and disappointed with best buy and fitbit to not make it right at all considering how much the watch itself costs.
