This was recommended by a few people that I know from Weight Watchers. It stays clipped on whatever you put it on (usually a pocket in pants) and keeps very accurate counts. You can add your friends on the computer and it can get very competitive which I need some days. When I purchased this it was $49.99, which I think was a great price for this item. A few of my friends have the more expensive Fitbit Flex which also calculates your sleep and it's a bracelet which you can leave on while you shower. I would still like to find something that I could use to calculate calories burned while swimming, but haven't come across anything yet.

This is my first fitness device and I love it. It was easy to set up and even easier to use.. . I carry it everywhere I go and it's a great motivator to get up and get going!

This is great for tracking steps,calories and distant. It virtually can be placed anywhere on the body to track. It requires no charging just have to replace the battery every 6 to 8 months. I love this product so much I have purchased this item as gifts for friends .

The Fitbit is very accurate and works great with a Smart Phone but you don't have any control over what you are viewing on the FitBit. Depends on what you are using it for but it does provide for its purpose.

I would give it a higher rating. However, it has gone through 2 batteries in less than a month, so it must be defective. I'm going to return it for another one and see if it performs according to specs.

My wife has been asking for a Fitbit for a while. I bought her the basic model, since the other features didn't seem something we needed. This small and inexpensive Fitbit does the job. What we really like is that it is small and easy to carry anywhere. The only issue I had is that it does not come with instructions on how to use it. It took us a while to learn it, but we have learned a few tricks. We still don't know how to use all the features.

FitBit is a wonderful motivator. It is also fun to be in a community of users, friends and to track yourself against others. HOWEVER, the quality of these devices has been decreasing. FitBit only gaurantees them for 45 days and this is the third device I have had to buy (i.e., replace). Don't even think about reaching anyone at FitBit to address an issue. They are not staffing up to support the large number of users/units sold. So, buy one, enjoy using it when it works, and keep an eye out for a more reliable product as this self-monitoring space continues to expand.

Great price for a "starter" FitBit. I bought this for my husband who just wanted to know his steps during the day. I have a Fit Bit One and it is easier to see the screen, because it lights up.

It has been great for making sure that I drink enough water. I also enjoy using it to log my food intake & track my calories. It also motivates me to walk more.

I bought this for my wife and she loves it. It was easy to set up right out of the box. She likes that it can clip to her clothes and does not need to be worn on your wrist.

Bought these for my kids as they were really interested in my Fitbit One. These are pretty basic - tracks steps and that's all. I'm not a fan of the tap interface - instead of a button you give the Zip a thwack with your finger. Not elegant but it works. One of the two Zips died within about two weeks. Battery level was fine, it just one day stopped turning on. Doing a hard reset, etc didn't work. Fitbit is sending us a new one and their customer support is great, but still shouldn't happen to a $60 device so quickly. Plus my daughter isn't tracking steps which does not make her happy.

I bought this in hope that it would help my daughter & i be more active, and its working. Its a need tool, fits in your pocket no messing to get it to count proper. It syncs both with yr computer n phone and sends you reminders if you are falling short on your steps. I also like that is syncs with Myfitness Pal where you can log all you eat. It even aids in your competitiveness by allowing you to have friends and you can see who is doing more steps. Very simple to operate since I am not all that slick with gadgets. I definitely recommend this and in future will buy more for other family members.

I love it other than the difficulty I had syncing. But once that was fixed, I love it. Works well and is fairly accurate.

I got this for my father because I got one for xmas. I love mine & he loves his. It doesnt count heart rate or flights of stairs but it counts your steps, distance, calories burned, and when you link it to your phone, your active minutes. Love it!

This little activity tracker is wonderful! I tried the wrist Fit Bit, but I use my hands too much at work, so it was not accurate. This one is perfect for me. It stays securely in the clip-on case that came with it, and stays secure when I clip it on clothing.

Easy to use. Simply tap display to see steps and time, etc. Clip is tight fitting too so no worries about it falling off.

I purchased the Fitbit zip because I did not want to have to always wear on arm - as it is not an attractive piece of jewelry. For the price it does all I need it to do. It was easy to load the app on both my iPhone and PC. Keeps me aware of my steps and water consumption. I normally wear clipped to my bra strap - but also purchased the wrist bands which allow me to wear on arm when I am not dressed up and do not want it to show.

I purchased a new one after I sent my first one through the washer while hooked to a belt loop. I wear it everyday. I sit at a desk all day working on computers. It is an incentive to get out of my chair to walk when time permits. like seeing my numbers rise.

Since this was the cheapest version currently available I grabbed it while I'm waiting for the next version to be released. So far I love what this one does. Gives me good data to know where I need to work harder. Motivates me more to go to the gym at the end of a long day when I've spent to much time at my desk. Can't wait for the waterproof wristband that's being sent out soon that also tracks sleep (an issue I struggle with) so I can get more data to try to combat life long issues.

This device coupled with the Dashboard app have served as prompt and reinforcement for my exercise. This combo has helped me increase my daily average steps from about 2 miles a day to well over a 6 mile average. I love it and am feeling so much better!
