    Great ChromeOS tablet/laptop

If you understand that this runs ChromeOS then it is a great device. The touchscreen is clear, bright, and responsive like a tablet. Flipping the screen to be used as a tablet places it in tablet only mode that disables the keyboard and adds touch features making ChromeOS still easy to use with touch alone. The aluminum shell looks great (the hinge is silver panted plastic), and there is no fan to make noise. The stereo speakers are decent as well. The 2gb version was much cheaper than the 4gb version when I bought, but consider the 4gb depending on your workload. Soon the ChromeOS stable release will have Android play store available, and this is one of the few devices to provide support initially. Very light with long battery life, so I can carry it with me inside and outside the house.

I am the Chromebook King, I can do anything.

I have tried and owned nearly every major Chromebook release from the Asus model run by Nvidia, to the Acer 15.6" 4th Gen Intel i3 model, to the Toshiba Chromebook 2, to the Samsung XE500. And I can only say that if my home was burning to the ground and all the above Chromebooks were inside and I only had time to save one, I would stay outside and let them burn. And then I would run out and buy this Flip badboy again. Its the most versatile, premium feeling, convenient, and feature rich computer of the bunch! And totally affordable. It's the best Chromebook this generation hands down.

I purchased the asus 2 in 1 tablet/laptop hybrid and have been very very happy with my purchase. After six years of owning an asus 16in gaming laptop, i was very skeptical of myself over the idea of sacrificing size and power of my previous laptop for the benefit of having a smaller, more portability laptop with much better battery life. Turns out I greatly favor portability, battery life and smaller size. This laptop hybrid boots up and shuts down within seconds and the internet connection, both upload and download speeds are the faster I've experienced over other devices I've used like galaxy, iphone, ipad, varoius laptops that are only a couple years old at most. Couple things, if you understand what the chrome os as well as the device is, you'll love it. Your not going to be downloading movies or music in the conventional sense nor have the ability to download physical software onto this device. So if you enjoy making music or editing videos or like having massive size library of downloaded content. This device is limited to those things but if you enjoy steaming music or movies, browsing the internet at fast speeds and use excel, word, powerpoint, outlook. Then I highly highly recommend this device to you.. I consider the overall functionality of this device being more of a laptop than a tablet; though, it can do both with success. The keyboard and screen/tablet are relatively matched in weight. Something thats a common issue for some of these other hybrid devices/ tablets with an attachable keyboard. WIth constant updates and improvements streamlined into the device itself as well as a promising rise of new apps and software available through the google store. This product will be solid for years to come. PS: love how the keyboard keys are separated from each other

Great chromebook but know its limits

Was hoping for the chromebook to do what I wanted but sadly I'll have to go to a near $1000 laptop to get what I wanted. Was hoping it would bring up my pictures quickly off of a USB to SD card however it seems sluggish compared to my older desktop actually had it crash a few times trying to load the files online and offline. The chromebook as using just online content however is great just as any tablet but with much nicer screen inputs if needed, Just more options in general. Don't forget the keyboard. I wasn't sure about paying the extra money for the flip and touchscreen but for how much I use web based content and multiple chromecasts in the house I find it very useful. Would like the screen to have less of a boarder but it has an excellent finish and feel. Will have to think about what I would either rather have in its place or just buy a nice laptop. The only other thing I can nit pick at is I wish more chromebooks would have it, Micro USB charging. Very few have the feature but it would eliminate an extra power cable when traveling and isn't something proprietary.

    Excellent until it stopped working

I loved everything about this machine. The style, size, features, speed for price point. It was perfect for what I needed, until it started acting up. The only way to describe it is: erratic. It just goes absolutely nuts. It's completely unpredictable, and while it has it's favorite vices, there's no recognizable pattern. Often times the screen brightness continually dims and webpages are repetitively refreshed (the most annoying!). Sometimes windows move or resize. For a more details and a video, see my support ticket at: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/2bv45v8rDnY Unfortunately this didn't become a problem until after Best Buy's 15 day return policy. That's just how it goes, huh?

    Great alternative to pricier tablet

I own several Apple products, but am not ready to purchase the iPad Pro. I'm also evaluating technology for a new school next year, so purchased the 2-1 Asus as an Open Box item last week. The unit works perfectly accessing the applications I use in my classroom and is a good device for traveling around the house watching Netflix or Amazon Prime. The sound is less than stellar - volume and quality, however for my purposes it is more than adequate. The pictures are clear, I experience no lag in streaming youtube, TED talks, Netflix, or Amazon Prime. I have not tried any flash apps so am not sure how well this unit will handle that, however, for the purposes I've used iPads in my classroom, this device would be a much more economical selection depending on the funds available in the fall. It is lightweight, can be used for Skype. It does not have a forward facing camera; this would be a major issue if I wanted or needed to use it like a phone or iPad camera. Facebook works just fine and I have played multiple games from my Facebook account on this unit. The keyboard is comfortable. The flip feature is great for using the screen as a "TV". The keys are disabled when in flip mode. The unit must be folded back past the vertical to reengage the keyboard. Not a problem, just a comment. All Google apps are useable so documents, spreadsheets, and presentations can be created on this device. I really like the unit for the price and can see using it for personal use on a regular basis.

    This Chromebook changes everything

A Chromebook with a high-quality build and touchscreen changes the utility of a Chromebook. If you have tried and dismissed Chromebooks before you should really try this one. This is the way Chromebooks should have been at the beginning. 12 hour battery life - no kidding, I tested it. Beautiful touch display that responds very well. Insanely loud and clear speakers for a unit this size. The "Flip" design is so handy and the accelerometer almost reads your mind its so quick. One improvement Id like to see next year is a back-lit keyboard and a carrier-supported LTE SIM model. Buy it and try it. Theres a lot to like!
