You are correct; your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro must be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law. 

Here are step-by-step directions for checking your device's WiFi signal strength: https://ring.com/support/articles/2ki93/Checking-Your-Ring-Device-Wifi-Signal-Strength. If you are getting less than 2Mbps, you can still enjoy the Ring experience, but you may notice lower video or audio quality or potentially delayed notification when using your device.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to share your experience with us! We fully understand the importance of having the motion detection and lights work as intended. They are valuable features that are designed to notify you as to who may be near your home, and deter unwanted visitors. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.

Regarding the Ring Floodlight Cam, the floodlights are divided up into three 90 degree zones that can be independently turned on and the distance adjusted to customize the area that will trigger the lights to turn on. The camera too can have its motion-sensing area customized through the Ring App, and can cover up to three different zones. The combination of these different customizable zones gives you complete control over the area you wish to cover with your Floodlight Cam. It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring Floodlight Cam Pro is an outdoor security camera designed to provide you with the ability to customize your camera's zone coverage, motion settings and light settings in the Ring app. The Ring Floodlight Cam Pro has two 3000° Kelvin lights with an output of 2000 lumens and an in-app brightness adjustment slider. To adjust the brightness of your lights, please follow these steps in the Ring app: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (☰). Tap Devices. Select the camera that you want to adjust. Select Device Settings. Select Light Settings. Select Light Brightness and adjust the slider to make the lights brighter or dimmer.
