Only downside is the ability Criminals can easily jam and/or use high intensity lights to disable(washout) the cameras. This is a major problem for all companies and there systems. Ring has steppes it up to try and counteract this but in of the day it ends on the home owner.

Great Floodlight cameras

The pictures / recordings are clear and vivid. The cameras are easy to interact with. The setup was quick and pretty simple. These cameras were purchased to replace my previous 7 years old ring cameras. Rings camera are pretty dependable and durable.

Installation was very easy with electrician--everyone seems to be very well-versed in this product. The APP makes using the surveillance camera very easy. Our neighborhood had seen a rash of attempted break-ins recently. Before we installed three surveillance cameras and doorbell, only our black labs kept an intruder from entering through our large dog door while we were at a restaurant. The flood light/motion detector had been damaged by the would-be intruder. Then we found out that a few nights later that someone tried to kick in the front door of our next-door neighbor while they sat in the dining room with 8 dinner guests, all visible to street. It was our other next-door neighbor who educated us on Ring, and happened to catch images of the possible intruders on his system. So, now all three neighbors are Ring homes. Lights shine immediately when there is movement. This, plus upgrading our other security systems, seems to give a sense of added protection.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was a nice upgrade from the previous version Ring Floodlight cam that started having issues after 3 years (was not regulating the floodlights properly and daytime video would have a blue or purple hue instead of clear). This is a GREAT camera if you are replacing a single floodlight unit outside. In my case, I deducted a star because my floodlight and coach lights are wired in the same circuit. The previous version allowed the positive to go in the camera and had a secondary positive out that would only turn on the coach lights whenever the floodlights would activate. With this new camera since its only one positive wire, my coach lights stay on during the day time. My only resolve would be to have an electrician rewire this. I kind of wish Ring would have split the positive like in the previous version I had. Still a nice camera and I like the extra features over the previous version.

We have had vandalism and theft in our area and this sends me alerts when someone steps onto my property. I can adjust it to keep nuisance alerts from cars passing by, etc.

Video sound and connectivity is great… 10/10 I would buy again.
