Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could rate it 4.5 stars. this is the second flood light from ring that I own. the first one is the older gen and sits above the garage, this newer one I have in the backyard that monitors the swimming pool. motion detection works pretty good just like the first gen, but just like the first gen, no matter how I adjust the lighting features it goes off at random times with little to no motion detected. Being that my bedroom window faces the backyard I can see the light shining on and off most of the night. other than that, it does work well.

Led lights illuminate more area than buld lights. I am able to review all camera locations from my phone. I would purchase again.

We understand how important it is for your device to detect motion consistently and reliably. The Ring Floodlight Cam Pro is designed to detect motion based on your specifications so that you are notified of all motion events that matter to you. We would love the opportunity to work with you to get your device performing optimally for your home's environment.
It sounds like you have some concerns with your device's motion detection. If your device appears to be missing a lot of motion, you may want to check the motion frequency setting. The motion frequency control allows you to reduce alerts from repetitive patterns of motion or increase alerts so you get notified about the motion events that matter to you.
Follow these steps to adjust the motion frequency:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Motion Frequency.
Select Frequently, Regularly or Periodically.
Frequently: Motion detection always stays active. Shortest battery life.
Regularly: Motion detection takes a short break after each Motion Alert. Medium battery life.
Periodically: Motion detection takes a longer break after each alert. Maximum battery life.
Tap Save in the upper-right corner.
