No Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this product and to be fair I haven't been able to use it yet. I have existing flood lights and wanted to replaced them with the Ring Floodlight cam. The problem was that the mounting bracket and screws that attached to the junction box on the house prevent the plastic mounting plate from mounting flat against the junction box. I was on the phone for an hour with Ring with no solution and they had no ability to see what I think were Ring products that would solve the problem. Agent was nice and patient, but she could only refer me to documents I'd read 10x already. Then I chatted with Best Buy geek squad who's response was "Okay, based on what we've found today this will require a store visit. I can schedule a carry-in appointment for you," Both Ring and Best Buy offered no real value from their customer support staff. Sitting here with a camera that's not functioning.

It sounds like there is some concern with installing your device. Your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro must be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box.
Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law.
With the power off at the circuit breaker, remove your existing floodlight from the junction box and disconnect the wires. If there is a metal bracket attached to the junction box, remove that as well. Then you will want to secure the metal mounting bracket with the screws provided.

Doesn't work below zero.

At around 0-deg is doesn't work at all. Basically useless in Minnesota or any other northern state. Ring customer support has no solution to this problem. Ring also needs to design some way to reset their cameras without having to climb a ladder and push a button on the outside unit. Again, basically useless in cold conditions, on frozen slippery ground.

Operating Temperature of the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is -5°F to 120°F(-20°C to 48.5°C). Extreme cold temperatures does have adverse effects on your electrical wiring, causing them to temporarily become brittle and inflexible. In these conditions, some cables will stiffen and even crack if they are installed below recommended temperatures.

It sounds like your device is not working as expected. There are a variety of circumstances that can cause your Ring device to lose its connectivity. These include:
A power surge causes a problem with your Internet router.
You temporarily lose power.
A wire in your router setup temporarily comes loose.
You change your wifi network password.
It's important to understand that most of these circumstances are temporary. In most cases, as soon as the circumstances that caused the disconnect to occur are cleared up, your Ring device should automatically reconnect to the network. Very rarely, though, your device will remain disconnected. That's when you should run through a troubleshooting routine that checks the possible sources of the disconnection.
