Excellent Watch Decent battery Great design and st
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to say first, that this Smartwatch does not have a large battery, but you can spend a day of 10-12 hours. The best: It has a super fast charge. It charges you 100% in one hour. It has a large screen, everything goes smoothly because it has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM. The silicone band is 22cm, a bit long for some; but you can find one more small in the Fossil store or on Amazon. It is a super delicate band in contact with the skin and the Smartwatch is very light. I love your design. Your updates make the Google assistant work very well. Of course, be prepared because between setting up the Smartwatch and downloading updates, it can take a whole night; which means no less than 10 HOURS !!! Yes, it is not a lie, that took my watch to update and configure. I returned the first one, because when I finished downloading the update (4 hours), it showed me "The update cannot be installed"; then bingo! Another 4 hours of download. The same happened to me with the second one. That's why I decided to return it. I put the missing money and bought a Galaxy Watch 46mm Bluetooth. Not a bad smartwatch; but believe me that after you had the Fossil 5 Generation on your wrist; He will miss him very much. it's OS Wear (Android) and Samsung phones run Android; So your Smartwatches run Tizen OS. I don't know what Samsung's future will be with Tizen on their phones; but I am sure of one thing: Between OS Wear and Tizen, I keep OS Wear; although, it has flaws like Tizen; At least it is developed by Android. Syncing with your Android device is great. Tizen has no licensed Google app (Except for exceptions with Spotify, Strava and Uber, which are not from Google). But honestly, who will request an Uber service with their watch, if the phone allows you to do better? Tizen uses Here We Go instead of google maps. It is not bad; but in my case I had problems with navigation. The app breaks every time or freezes and I had to restart my phone, so I decided to uninstall this app. For now, Tizen is not doing well with me. You have to use all the original Samsung apps: Phone, contacts, Samsung Pay and even Samsung Internet. Yes, you read it right: Samsung internet instead of Google Chrome! Honestly, I put on this Galaxy Watch to set up Samsung Health and my heart rate and I left it in its box. I just want to see what happens with your battery; but I miss my Fossil 5 Generation. In every way!

Ok?
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start mentioning that the watch is beautifully finished, and a great size for most people. Now Google Wear OS works OK, kind of slow sometimes, but I love it specially if paired with a Android cellphone. Where it kills itself is with Battery Life, you will be lucky if it lasts 24 Hours...Even if you going into settings and shut off quite a few Apps from notifications. That being said, that's why I gave it 3 Stars, and by the way returned it too. Hopefully all these manufacturers can either use bigger batteries, and also Google Wear OS should be more efficient.

Wear OS is the weakness
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For this item whether I recommend it or not depends heavily on the use. A simple yes or no can not suffice. Nor can the meters for Quality, Ease of Use, and Value. It all depends on your expectations. For example an audiophile will love Martin Logans, while the same person will hate them because they sound aweful after their spouse/partner forces them to be hidden . A first time buyer of a smart watch will not be impressed, while those of us that have had a few and know they kind of all stink will be quite impressed with this model. To clarify my ease of use - watch faces don't show step count out of the box, kind of silly for a device with a heart rate monitor. Nor does it show you your heart rate without digging, again kind of silly for a device that has a heart rate monitor. To clarify value - the lower cost vs the mechanical fruit earn it a Good. Ease of use issues mentioned above keep it from getting Excellent. To clarify Quality - glaring defects in the software that should have been resolved in beta, earns this device an average. The silicone watch band doesn't help. I am not one to expect miracles. I don't want it to do everything the phone can, my phone lasts 1.5 days with a battery 10 times the size of the watch. So obviously a watch that does everything a phone can will only last a couple hours. It shouldn't need WiFi, It shouldn't need direct access to your google accounts, but it does. As such pesky notifications about account actions persist when all I really wanted was a device to relay notifications off of my phone which is already authorized. Said account actions which are near impossible to get rid of on some gsuite accounts. Standard Gmail and a really old gsuite account is fine, but more recent Gsuite accounts just won't fully authorize this watch even when device management is set to basic. Even in large font mode, text is still hard to read. I've found the problem to be worse while in spaces with LED lighting. Bear in mind this watch is 2-3 times further away from your eyeballs than your phone is, you should be able to read it even if you need readers to look at your phone. Which I can still hold my phone and read it without readers. Those looking for a more fitness orientated model should look elsewhere, it's not really a fitness watch out of the box, you have to enable apps which then consume battery to phone home to the mothership. I have a gear fit pro 2 that did everything I needed except staying on my wrist. And lasted at least 2 full days. with a smaller battery. I would prefer downloading updates to my phone and then pushing them to the watch via bluetooth which uses less power due to proximity. But it doesn't work that way, it seems as WiFi needs to be enabled to attain updates. If you walk away from your phone with bluetooth enabled, your battery dies just as fast as if wifi were on. So listening to music directly off the watch while the watch is burning battery trying to connect to your phone really isn't all that practical. All that said if you use custom battery mode; disable WiFi, disable Always On Display, keep your phone close at all times and don't use the direct music, you can get almost 23 hours between charging. Well maybe more, but who in their right mind will set an alarm to put their watch on the charger in the middle of the night. I was down to 20% when I put the watch on the charger till full. About 23 hours between charges. I am not an addict like most, so if you actually use this thing for calls and you look at your watch every time it beeps, plan on carrying a charger with you. If you are a digital addict, I have no doubt that this watch is the best in the current flock for you. According to other reviews other offerings suffer worse battery life. My 3 star rating is simply due to being tired of paying to be a beta tester. A lot of my quirks could have easily been resolved prior to retail launch had a proper beta test been done. I realize this company isn't the only one, it rings true from the cheapest of items all the way to multi million dollar communication platforms. Had the experience after 2 software updates been achieved out of the box, I would have given a 4 star. Silicone is also a stupid material to make watch bands with. (a leather watch band is cheaper than the price difference out of the box, In case you're wondering) It's a base for a common lubricant. As such the darn thing has to be so tight to keep from sliding around that you see indents for several hours after removal. If I decide to keep it, I will be changing bands to something a little less slippery. Yes indents are normal no matter what, but with silicone they are deeper and more constricting.

Better smart watches available in the market
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The watch looks very stylish and is a good one for office use. However the battery life with all the functions in use is not great, 12 h at max.

Really nice watch - but outdated and weak smarts
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The physical watch itself is quite nice, but the software and Android experience on the watch is not too great. The battery life is weak and forces you to play with settings to get it to last. The software is pretty dry and outdated. Better to go with Samsung or Apple.

Smartish watch
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price point, its not a bad smart watch but it did not do what we wanted it to do. Wear OS doesn't hold up to the Samsung or Apple smart wear apps. I loved the feel of the fossil but the battery life was terrible (required charging daily, if you made it through the day). Sound quality was worthless.

Battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this watch with a price match from Amazon for 139.99. I really liked the watch. The only downside was battery life. Even on battery saver mode, I would be lucky to have the watch last me an entire day. It was be 5 stars for me if battery issue was not present

Battery life is horrendous
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Daily setting lasted me 6 1/2 hours. Extended setting barely made it to 8 hours but I changed the setting half day to allow gps to count steps. The quality of the watch is nice and all but I can't even use it as a step counter/ heart rate monitor with battery life constantly at the back of my mind. My Samsung gear sport from can last me almost 3 days on a single charge without me having to tinker with all the settings. We shall see how much more tinkering I got to do for it to last me an actual day. If not, this might just end up being a secondary watch for me. I wouldn't recommend this watch at full price.

Wear OS could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a nice looking watch but wear OS still isn't exactly nice to use. Battery life on this watch could be better as well; not getting a full day of use.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is an interesting watch, my first android wear OS and I am kinda disappointed. charging dock is really a joke. it looks like they use the cheapest material to make it. other all specks are works well definitely fast and smooth.

Save your money
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wear OS is dead in my eye. Fossil is trying it's best to keep it going, but when Google doesn't care anymore then why bother? It has sleep tracking, but my watch is at 20% by the time it go to bed. I wrote about this on Twitter and Wear OS's response was to turn off features I didn't need. Well, I bought this watch because I kinda needed those features.

Decent Buy if On Sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a bad watch. Not a great watch, either. My biggest issue so far is battery life. On Daily Use mode, it lasts about 12hrs or so. On Extended Use mode, which I use regularly, it lasts almost 48hrs. The Wear OS pedometer is pretty good, but doesn't seem to work very well while on a treadmill. If I didn't buy this while On Sale, I'd exchange it for a Samsung Galaxy watch.

Work in progress.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the watch for five months now and although it pairs with iOS it still lacks the essential reply to messages and emails. We are still missing some cross platform compatibility. As far as looks and wrist band option, this is much more compatible. dropped price after purchasing, now wishing there was a better offer to buy the apple watch.

The battery life is too short
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like everything except for the battery life. If you don't use Wear OS to detect your workout, then the battery can last for around 8 to 10 hours. However, if you go to workout after work then the battery is definitely not enough.

Not what i expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is not what a expected. The battery barely even last a day. The delay on syncing and using the watch with my phone is just horrible. I wish i had a chance to return it before the 15 days was up so now it just sits in my desk not being used anymore. The worst purchase I've made so far !!!

Could be better for the value
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch was okay. It has a good amount of choices for the watch face, but the battery just doesn't last. For Fossil I think it could be better considering its not cheap. The value dropped very quickly in it by what I've seen online.

Nice watch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this watch and all of its features. Two weeks ago the clasp just let go and it won't stay closed. That would fall within Best Buy's 14 day return policy. The problem is, I don't live nextdoor to a Best Buy and it took me some time to get back to one. Now I'm being told that the only thing I can do with a $250 watch that is less than a month old is pay an additional $60 for a new protection plan on it's replacement. I'm trying to figure out how a defective product is somehow my fault. I only say that because the $60 feels like a punishment. It could be a great watch, if I can keep it on my arm.

Nice watch limited by Wear OS.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most of my gripes with this watch are with Wear OS. It is so limited in what it can do that right now. If you just want some notifications on your wrist you’ll be fine, anything above that and you might be disappointed. The watch itself is a quality piece outside of the watch band. The band is thin and feels extremely cheap. The screen in nice and bright and it looks nice on the wrist. Not near enough watch faces available, but there are enough to change it up depending on your use case. Unless you catch this on a REALY good sale I’d steer clear, especially with new watches around the corner from Fossil.
