I typically don’t pay or use Apple TV outside of when there is a promotion. It’s mostly due to already having other streaming services that have an array of tv shows and movies. Most things on Apple TV you have to pay add ons just to watch them anyway. If there’s a show I really want to see I’d get it, but 9/10 it’s on something else. I’ve mostly gone on Apple TV to watch Billie eilish’s documentary type movie a couple times.

Where it shines is the ability to both rent/buy titles, pairing of other select streaming services into the Apple TV platform, and integration of a smart-home hub much like Amazons various platforms. At its core the service boasts a smooth, high-quality streaming experience, supporting 4K HDR/Dolby Vision and impressive audio features. Apple TV does its job and it’s ad free. But in comparison to its competitor it doesn’t quite stand tall. Especially when considering its current $12.99 price point at of October 2025, vs Amazon video (with their extensive and solid catalogue but trade out is there’s ads) for $8.99 or a fully inclusive Prime Membership (which has Amazon video ad free + same-2 day free shipping on prime orders) for $14.99. If you’re unsure, you can acquire a 3-month trial with the purchase of different electronics products/accessories through Best Buy or Apple which comes in handy for those with buyers hesitation. Keep in mind that Apple is this services developer meaning you should expect to run into ecosystem-lock. While improving, there’s much weaker support and awkward experiences on non-Apple devices. Primarily seen on consoles where the app/interface is less polished with buggy UI systems. Many of its benefits are most useful if you are already in Apple’s ecosystem. If you’re an Android, Console, or Windows-only user the advantages feel less strong.

I LOVE APPLE TV’s ORIGINALS!!! From Sci-Fi to Comedy to Thrillers… Apple TV has it all!! My personal favorite shows include Silo, Bad Monkey, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Bad Sisters. Every show on Apple is captivating, extremely well-written, and well-casted. I also enjoy the UI on Apple TV. I use it on my Roku, my laptop and my iPad and it is consistent across platforms. I am always able to find what I’m looking for. I love how when I am searching for a new show to watch, I can watch a trailer for just about everything. I am an Apple girl through & through (currently typing this on an iPhone 15) — all of my devices are Apple and I choose Apple Music & Apple TV for entertainment. I recently ditched my Netflix subscription because I find myself more on Apple TV than anything else. I love that with a purchase of a new Apple product, I also receive a few months of Apple TV free. This one surprised me, and I can not overstate that enough. Let me start by saying I've never bought into the iPhone and Mac fan club. That being said, Apple TV truly does kick butt in ways that most other streaming services are lacking in. Their library of original series like Silo, and Dark Matter are truly original, and vell produced. Their original movies are equally impressive, if you want an example you need look no further than the movie "The Gorge." It was a breath of fresh air in the wake of seeing so many remakes, reboots, prequels, sequels, and played out ideas of the past. Great acting, phenomenal directing and production, and a completely original story. Apple is doing at least one thing right with Apple TV+

I am writing to say how impressed I am with my entire Apple product purchase at Best Buy. I was thinking I needed to go to the GENIUS Bar but found the assistance at Best Buy just as good or even better! The Apple iPad I purchased was 10th generation at a great price and shipped to my home immediately. I then made an appointment on-line for the GEEK squad and was welcomed the next day by a professional and efficient young man who transferred my data from the old Apple device to the new iPad effortlessly - I don’t remember his name but he was a delight to work with - very patient and helpful to this senior! Best Buy has always been my go to store for electronics but this experience exceeded my expectations - from price, shipping and assistance from the Geek squad was outstanding. And to top it all off, BEST BUY gave me Free Apple TV for 3 months to try their streaming service! AppleTV is an easy to use service and I can’t thank you enough for providing a free trial (especially in today’s retail climate!) I have thoroughly enjoyed my Apple purchase from Best Buy and give 5 stars for the entire experience from start to finish…..excellent service! Thank you!

Apple TV is a great streaming device — sleek design, super easy to set up, and the interface is smooth and intuitive. Picture quality is excellent, and the remote is much better than older versions. My only gripe (and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) is that the price feels a little high compared to other streaming options. Still, if you’re in the Apple ecosystem, it’s hard to beat.
