Mario is fabulous!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mario was a tremendous asset in helping us choose our replacement microwave/oven combo (which was necessitated because the control panel no longer worked). We were very surprised when he volunteered to come to our house to make sure that whatever we chose to replace our malfunctioning unit would fit in the existing space and that it would be the best replacement option available for our needs. He is not only very knowledgeable about the products but, also didn’t try to “oversell” in order to try to talk us into buying anything else we didn’t need.

The Need For In-Home Advisors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Delroy Vassel; In-Home Consultant/Advisor for Best Buy Magnolia Setup & Installation; arrived at my home on 4/27/2021 at 12PM as promised & proceeded to re-evaluate my Denon AVR - X3700H incomplete setup performed on 4/16/2021 by a Best Buy Geek Squad installer & found multiple errors in how my AVR was connected to my speakers & streaming devices. He recommended the best way for all connections to be performed & ordered the proper audio cables to connect devices that were left unconnected. He also recommended a better placement/setup of my speakers so that I would get the true immersive surround sound that the Denon is known to produce & he also set up a re-installation appointment utilizing a Best Buy Geek Squad technician that is familiar with the intricacies of the Denon equipment & would make sure that everything was working correctly before he left. All of Best Buy's high end/Magnolia products should have the expertise of an in-home Advisor available before any home setup/installation is performed so that it is done correctly the first time. All of Best Buy's Geek Squad Technicians should follow the example set by Delroy Vassel.

The Fixer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thank you for sending Jonathan E to configure our home theater system. It turns out the original installers didn't really take the time to configure our equipment correctly hence the reason for the poor quality sound. Our surround sound wasn't turned on and our sound wasn't being transmitted from the receiver to the speakers. After Jonathan completed correcting our setup he took his time to explain in full detail of what was wrong and provided us with a demo as to why our sound quality was so terrible. The before and after demonstrations were like night & day. His after demonstration of choice was Bladerunner 2049 (BlueRay) and during certain scenes he pointed out various sound effects and how the sound was traveling between speakers from the receive an our BlueRay player. After he left we gave him the nickname, "The Fixer" and "The Cleaner" because he was able to fix and clean up the mistakes your installers made. Not to say they did anything wrong, this clearly appears a be an area that they may not be fully familiar with. Our system consist of the Pioneer VSX 834 receiver, 5-Yamaha NS-IC800 in ceiling speakers, Polk Audio PSW10 10" Powered Subwoofer and AT&T UVerse.

Sonos Connect and two Play 1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially stopped at store looking to solve my old stereo equipment and old music collection problem and modernizing it with new technology. Salesperson told me about some options and offered in home consultation in Nashua, NH. Consultation was free. I didn’t know about that service and said yes. I was called same day be scheduler and after a few initial problems scheduling she finally listened and set up a morning appointment for me. David showed up on time for appointment. Seemed like he knew what he was doing. Said he would send me an email with proposal. Didn’t get it for over a week so I followed up. David explained he sent proposal next day but internal system problems created me and some other customers from getting it. He re-sent and I got it. I reduced some of original recommendations and went with Sonos Connect and two Play 1’s. Two Geek Squad installers showed up as scheduled. Installed system and told maybe Connect wasn’t needed but they could work with it. Connected my CD player, Amazon Music, and showed me radio stations. Reminded me that I had Total Tech warranty so to call with any issues. Couldn’t hook up my cassette deck because needed a 3 to 1 connector. Geek Squad rep found one on Amazon for $7 and I ordered it. Now I have it but haven’t been able to hook it up by myself. Also last week lost connection for Sonos. Called tech support and they directed me to Sonos telephone tech support. Woman was helpful troubleshooting problem for me. Told me cordless phone systems Sonos were fighting over the router’s bandwidth. Told Geek Squad could come out again and make sure there are a 2.4 and 5 ghz bandwidth spelled out or something like that. Next step is to have Geek Squad out again to hook up tape deck and see about router bandwidths. A little frustrating that I may not have got exactly what I needed and now I need another appointment for additional problems. Seems like either more product knowledge and/or training could have anticipated these issues in advance. I like the sound of the system.

85" TV DELIVERY, MOUNTING AND PROGRAMMING

Their installation process has vastly improved during the last two years. Timely delivery, mounting and programming according to schedule. A purchased, but unused mount was returned and my account was promptly credited. Likewise with the purchased programming of a universal remote that we decided not to have done onsite. Much follow up before and after the sale. I went from being hesitant for the Geek Squad to perform this work because of the earlier, terrible experience, to being completely satisfied with their work. Answered all of our questions before leaving. Good job!

Great machine- stressful install process!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Our old washer was on its last legs and new models have swelled in size and would not fit into our vertical stacked cabinet space. We found the LG Washtower to be the only product now on the market that fit as well as having a much needed 4.5 cu ft capacity. Its a great design and reviews were good. The experience at Best Buy was great and the machine arrived earlier than we expected. The only negative in the process was the delivery and install team. When they got to the house and removed the old stacked machines the vent connection in the wall was cracked and they would not touch it- and just left the machine in our back yard. It took several more days for a return by them- during which I had to install a new elbow connection. When they returned to install it they said that no vent hose came with the machine so they couldn’t install it. I had to beg them to come back in 30 minutes so I could run to the hardware store to buy the hose and clamps needed. I checked my invoice and it clearly shows a vent hose was included. I think Robert should have alerted me to the potential issues I should anticipate happening and told me to buy my own flex hose. I’ll be returning to best buy for a refund on the hose I was supposed to get with my order. All in all, the machine works great and finally was installed- earlier than expected.

Super sound consult!

I had much trouble hearing the dialogue from my Sony TV. David Williams came by and evaluated my needs. He was most gracious even though I forgot my appointment time and therefore wasted his time (as a medical professional, this is something that I detest doing). David's determination of my specific needs was spot-on. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to finding the right system for a customer. When I had issues with the install date, he responded immediately to remedy the mistake. When I needed a fine tuning of the speakers, he came by the next day even though I offered to just have him instruct me how to do so over the phone. The sign of someone who truly cares about customer service! David recommended a Yamaha receiver for its quality and ease of use. And he was correct...much easier to use than my previous Onkyo. In short, I highly recommend Best Buy and specifically David for sound systems.

He came to my home, which admittedly I was a bit skeptical about at first, but the approach was great. He suggested multiple products for my needs, measured everything out, and made the vision come true. I also did my research on a different tv and brought it up to him, and he gave a really thorough review and comparison of it to the other tv he suggested right on the spot. He helped give me information I needed to make my decision exactly what I needed. Thanks Tanay! Hope to work together again in the future.

While shopping at our Best Buy Store in Joplin MO, one of the sales reps told us of a program they offer where a Home Specialist will come to your home and show you the different products via computer. They will measure the space you have to work with and present you with all the options plus you get guaranteed best pricing. Along with all that, they will schedule a date and time to deliver and install the new appliances and discard the old ones. When the workers leave your home they clean up any debris or boxes. A worry free process.

We've bought major appliances from her, and each time we did, we felt completely at ease as if we knew her a long time and she "got us". She got what we wanted, what we needed, and she made great suggestions and advice. We've been very happy with the appliances she recommended, and she basically hit the target each time.

Great experience working with Best Buy.

Steven, a tech working out of the Grand Rapids store covering the Kalamazoo area, met with us for an in store in Grand Rapids for a consult and then met with us for an in-home consult in Kalamazoo and was great in getting us pointed in the right direction for what we wanted in an entertainment system. The techs that installed the system went above and beyond to work with us. When we were not satisfied with the TV that we had, they were able to swap it out for an upgrade the same day. And finally, when I had an issue with a subwoofer (no fault of the subwoofer), the Geek Squad at the Kalamazoo store really took care of me. Really appreciate everyone that worked with us at Best Buy!
