Love my Samsung 82” tv

Friendly, But Ineffective and a Hassle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I requested an in-home consultation to assess which camera and door lock, bell system to use. My appointment was scheduled on my day off from work between 8-10 AM, The consultant showed up at 11 AM, an hour late. The assessment took about an hour which basically consumed half the day being finished at noon. Upon assessment of my smart home setup, using Google Home, Google WiFi mesh, and Nest thermostat, the consultant recommended Ring for cameras and doorbell. I asked if it is compatible with Google Home (Assistant), and was told it was. Also, Best Buy advertises that it does as well on the store display specs. I purchased the entire ring system for $950, including cameras, spotlights, doorbell cam, etc. I scheduled to leave work early for Geek Squad to come out and install the cameras. After 2 hours to setup, I found out that it's not compatible with Google Home and only works with Amazon's Alexa instead. I had to uninstall everything and return it. Then I purchased the Nest equipment which was compatible with Google Home. I opted to pay $400 for a technician to come back out and install them after losing confidence in Best Buy's knowledge of the equipment and compatibility. The consultant and store reps were very friendly however, which is the only positive from my otherwise exhausting, costly, and time-wasting experience.

It truly sounds like this experience didn’t go the way we would hope and I know I would also be a disheartened if my products didn’t work out as planned. An In-Home Advisor and In-Home Consultation is meant to assist you in figuring out what is possible with a personalized plan for your home. While I am glad to hear that you were able to work with the store and installation teams so that you now have equipment that works with your existing Google Home Assistant, if there was confusion about compatibility with your existing smart-home devises, I am deeply apologetic for the inconvenience you faced. I hope that you give us another opportunity to better serve you in the future.
