Home consultation with Best Buy was amazing

They visited my house and directed me to the right products that would fit my need and space. I decided on what buying a fridge, dishwasher, microwave and a gas range in an hour with their help. Without them it would have taken me days. They were also kind enough to give me the best deal possible with the available discount. I recommend them to everyone.

Nice guy, did not tell me anything new

Tech does not bring items to test as I was originally told. The suggestion the tech made did not work for me at all. In the end, I posted my needs on Facebook and another homeowner gave me my solution.

Communication breakdown

The consultant gave us an estimate, very timely. When the installation was attempted, the receiver was defective, so another one had to be ordered, and the technician was going to return when the product became available (was on back order). I had to reach out to the sales consultant a number of times re: status of re-order, and was confused about the "Magnolia" vs. Best Buy distinction. The technician told us that one of the products we purchased wasn't necessary but, when I returned to BB, was told I needed to return to a Magnolia store, which required a 2nd trip. Would've appreciated better communication.

Doug Schreiber is the BEST!

He immediately helped me to narrow down my choices and reviewed past orders to ensure I'd have all of the proper equipment. He arranged for the technicians to come out to not just install my new TV but also move my other TVs. Doug kept in touch with me to ensure all was handled to my satisfaction. Doug & the Best Buy Team did a great job!

None Better!

He arrived on time and was totally professional in his appearance, manner of speaking, knowledge of the cameras available, and he was sensitive to our concerns about not being technologically savvy. Two weeks later we have an excellent system that we understand and it works beautifully! Geek Squadies rule.

NOT THE BEST BUY! "WORST BUY"

The installers have been a joke. Dishwasher guys flooded the kitchen twice. Blamed the dishwasher as faulty but in reality hooked up the drain to the motor. Refrigerator was smooth but here it is first week of September and the range is not installed properly. The first pair of installers didn't know how to install a stove with a downdraft. A week later the guys needed a gas line installed but had no idea about the downdraft setup including how the exhaust fan was to be installed. Last Saturday we needed to have the KitchenAid ductless vent kit installed. It was obvious that they had never done it before. They couldn't slide the stove back in because the opening in the counter needed to be widened. Once that was done the stove still will not slide in because of an obstruction. When I looked online I found the video on how to install the Ductless vent kit and realized it was done wrong. I called Best Buy and begged them to send me an install team that was familiar with the brand and model that they sold me . Through all of this the Consultant Allen was unavailable. Still waiting for a proper installation for September 9th. I can safely say this has been the worst purchasing experience that I have EVER had in my 75 years!

Wasn't closely listen to enough

The in home adviser needs to be more knowledgeable about all products, that the homeowner can make an informed decision. I got more info from the manager of the appliance.
