Worth the time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was offered an in-home consultation, at no charge, while talking to an associate about developing my home theater. It has been a long term project and I am getting close to buying the final pieces (TV and Receiver/Amplifier), so I decided to say yes. I was very pleased with the experience. The consultant, Lindsey, asked lots of questions. She also made some great suggestions. I have received multiple proposals, reflecting multiple solutions, and will be making a decision in the next couple of weeks. Thank you!

Good Consult, poor follow up

When we were ready to actually get the work done, the follow up was slow to non-existent, even from a store manager. We won't have it done on time for Super Bowl, which was Best Buy's fault and frustrating.

Knowledgeable and Friendly staff, but upselling

My only disappointment was being upsold by magnolia and not left with any quote, just two verbal options. I'd would use them again, but with caution.

Good first impressions but bad follow through

However since then I asked for changes to the proposal and then never hear back. I followed up with the 800# and got a new consultant who sent a revised proposal which I signed and returned. Then no response from the consultant. He called after 2 weeks and asked for my credit card over the phone and sounded like he was calling from China so I was nervous and didn’t give my credit card number. I figured I would give the payment when they showed up to do the work. They failed to show up on the agreed date. So at this point thinking I need to get another vendor.

Excellent Geek Squad took care of everything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adam Colvin and his helpful team set up a wonderful Sonos system in the whole house, plus a TV surround sound in family room, iRobot, a mounted TV on swivel, and did some extra minor trouble-shooting. I am very pleased. I also had to call the main Geek Squad phone number once for a minor problem and the fellow helped me fix it by phone.

All Work Not Performed as Promised

Knowledgeable

We got a small discount on a couple of items, but most things were quoted at retail.

I am thinking about returning all 10k of A/V gear

First, my experience with Donnie has not been the best. He came out twice and did not provide the level of support that I needed. I asked him to update the order a few times with changes that I wanted to make regarding equipment that was suggested to me and he never followed up. I went into the Towson store and got the level of assistance that I needed from James & Tyler whom have never been to my home but provided better insight and options that I believe Donnie did. I asked Tyler to set me up with another in home appointment with someone other than Donnie, which he did. That appointment was cancelled because "Donnie had already been to my home previously." The technician also told me that Donnie's team now handle all of the consultations. I went into the store and spoke to a manager and they told me that was incorrect. I rescheduled with an installer to come out after waiting 2 more weeks, this appointment was cancelled due to COVID-19. My projector (I ordered a month ago) was scheduled to be delivered on March 24th. Then I was notified that it had been delayed, and may not arrive until the end of April. I spent $10,000 on home Audio Visual equipment and even decided to let you guys do the install. This has been an awful experience, if it wasn't for James & Tyler I would've already returned all of my equipment and would've purchased it through a different vendor like gramaphone.

Thorough Consultation

People want good deals especially if they are high end items. OK service but could be a good service if discounts available.

Disappointing service

But, after we ordered all my equipment and scheduled the installers, they arrived and decided they couldn't do the job! So, I had to find someone else to do the work!

Suggestions were OK but the delivery was Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Suggestions were OK but the delivery was an absolute nightmare They came to my house under a total renovation and said they could supply me with all the appliances in addition to the surround system and 65 inch TV. When in fact I had to call the store in Another state to place the order for a range six weeks later we are waiting for delivery and they notified me they could not make this sale I lost money on a free appliance promotion and had to start the process with a different company and wait another six weeks. The other appliances showed in stock and I had a delivery date set up and was notified two days prior that they could not make that date. Everyone at Best Buy blamed it on someone else Pacific sales blame it on the in-home consultant the in-home consult and blamed it on the store the store blamed it on the distribution center it was an absolute joke and a run around. I would’ve been better just going into the store and purchasing and never using the in-home consultant, I feel that the middleman was the problem. They’re not really associated with a store so you never know where to complain. The only part that had anything to do with the coronavirus was the in-home installation which set back all tech support. Additionally most of my products are not being removed from the box so I don’t damage but it looks like the return deadline is well before I will get anything installed from the tech-support that I paid for.

Rushed appointment

Washer/dryer did not fit above pedalstals and below cabinets. Washer/dryer now sitting directly on the floor. This is making transferring of clothing difficult.

Lack of communication ruined my experience

Our consultant came out on 7/2 and explained everything and was extremely helpful. He informed us that he could give us a proposal for the costs of a new tv, speakers, receiver, and mesh WiFi system prior to him going on vacation. He told us that he would put us in contact with his colleague while he was on vacation so that our process to get our new equipment would not be delayed. We paid for our equipment on 7/7 and had an installation date of 7/15. I took off work on the day of installation in order to ensure I would be at home for everything to be done. Our arrival window was 7am-1pm. I sat at home all day on 7/15 and no one arrived or called. I called Total Tech Support and they weren’t helpful. I went to the Best Buy store and was finally told that our tv, receiver, and speakers had not arrived on the most recent shipment. No one thought to call me to inform me that my installation would be delayed. Apparently a few people dropped the ball and because of lack of communication, I missed a full day of work, and my items were not installed until almost two weeks later when the items arrived in store. After spending over $7k for services, I was very disappointed in the quality of care that I received from Best Buy.

Are you going out of business?

Items shipped to my old address instead of the address of the consultation. Lack of follow up communication or information, having to go to the store just to get a manager to help clarify things and get in touch of salesperson. Text and calls from corporate telling me to set up an install date even know my consultant said not to worry but I got them every day for two weeks. And telephone customersupport unable to help because it was an in-home consultation. Installers unable to install the equipment and items initially ordered and very little follow up after, ordering the wrong part based on what I assumed I wanted instead of informing me of backorders. Pretty reasonable but after two months I give up I’m returning everything and order what I want direct from the company itself, at a discount at that. Maybe there’s some personal issues or personal issues like to location is peiying carroll weather someone buying something for $100 or a few more.

Terrible service on orders and installation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy consistently delayed our new house project by not holding their delivery dates, and canceling or no-showing at the last minute. Antonio did a good job when he was in charge, but it seems like corporate has taken over installations and it's a disaster. Today I waited all day for my 7am-7pm appointment, and no one arrived. I spent 45 mins on the phone trying to talk to a competent person, and talked to nothing but morons. They acknowledged they didn't notify me of the cancellation, but had to reschedule because the Sonos outdoor system I paid for 4 months ago is still not in stock. I'm done with this company. They are the WORST!

Home consultations the worst

Both having to do with home theater type systems and component replacements in 2 different locations, WA and HI. The WA Best Buy person went on vacation and didn't advise so waited weeks to hear from him and when finally got a response I was told to quickly make a decision as was going back on vacation. He did not ever communicate again and I was told when in store buying some of the parts tat he was around, Terrible followup up and ultimately lost about $5000 worth of business. In Hi the individual that came out was quite helpful and thus I increased the amount of equipment I was considering, However the individual never followed up, With both individuals i folowed up with emails multiple times over several months This would have been $5-$8,000 if obtaining all that was discussed. Not only did Best Buy lose this business but possibly the contact of a new owner as sold the property and told them to consider Best Buy as that was who helped with the initial home theater set up but also mentioned about the very poor follow-up, So Best Buy lost a little biz from me but more so in the future as just bought 4 homes of which there will be AV set up requirements. Over the yrs I have installed home theaters in 3 homes and used Best Buy for most of the components. You have lost a good customer even though I'm generally still a fan of Best Buy in general. As long as not the home consultation aspect of your business as will not do that again.

Needs Alot of Improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a large amount of products such as a high end Sony TV, Soundbar system and alot more and was informed about the In-Home Service by the store. They raved about it. The guy arrived and was professional but there wasn't anything that was impressive at all. The follow-up was no there either. I didn't hear from him for over a month. Ridiculous... I purchased a Sony Soundbar and it was defective after 3 months and I contacted the In-Home Rep as the store stated and he informed me that he couldn't do anything and I needed to contact Sony directly. So the service is useless and he didn't even ask if I needed assistance with any of the other electronics I purchased.

He additionally recommended improvements to our internet service. He was professional, never pressuring us to purchase unnecessary items. I would recommend him to anybody that wanted an honest evaluation and recommendation for improving their existing system.

Also he following up on send me proposals with measurements and ensure helping me order and assist in delivery timing. I would highly recommend it Extremely efficient.
