Poor install outcome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had Ed come to my home for a consultation for an electric cooktop. It was determined before the cook top was ordered that the new one would fit. Best buy scheduled the installation and when they came to the house to install it did not fit. Ed assured us it would. The installer said that the granite countertop would have to be modified in order to fit properly. The installer said that Best buy does granite modification. After contacting the 2 granite contractors that best buy uses, 1 did not call me back and the other was charging me $550.00 and I would be responsible for purchasing all the tools saws etc. to complete the job. Now keep in mind the granite needed to be cut 1/4" all around. needless to say, I have returned the cook top and have made arrangements to have someone else provide the cook top and total installation. This by far has been the worst experience I have ever had. In the mean time my kitchen is still torn up and have no cook top or oven. Very disappointing!!

Lack of Leadership
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Several months ago I purchased about $25,000 worth of audio visual products for a new condo I was moving into in January. I purchased everything in advance so it would be avail upon "move in date". Problem was Best Buy sold one of the items I had purchased. Sono's Arc sound bar. Yesterday Best Buy came over to install the Sonos sound bar. Two tech's showed up and mounted the sound bar. The problem was after being here for two hours they told me they had to leave to go to other appointments. They preceded to leave without my soundbar and 8 sonos speakers being reconfigured. SO the system today does not work as it was designed. They asked me to book another appointment for someone to come out to finish the job of reconfiguring the system. (They said the first Best Buy tech did the set-up wrong.) Out of desperation I offered to pay any tech $50 cash if they would just come back within 24 hours and finish the job. I needed the system done because I have several guests coming into town and wanted to be able to play music etc... through my home. I sat on the phone for over an hour yesterday calling your customer service only to get absolutely no where to getting this challenge resolved. Again, Best Buy made their problem my problem by not adjusting their tech's schedule so that they could have stayed on site until the job was finished. I could go on with other things that I was told during my conversation with BB customer service but it was clear to me that my situation was not urgent enough for them to realize they needed to break tradition and resolve this task and get my system up and running before my guests flew in to town today.

Awesome Consultant and trusted friend.

He is a great friend to me and great asset to the company.

Nevertheless, we were appreciative that the original installers were dispatched, and they were able to answer our concern immediately.

In-home consultation cancellation

He felt century link Internet was unable to be improved in my extremely rural area. All I needed was Internet Wi-Fi improvement. Therefore appointment was cancelled.

Disappointed!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because I have an irregular space in which to fit a refrigerator, it was suggested by Best Buy personnel that I have the Home Consultant measure and advise on right size refrigerator. I asked if Consultant would try to sell me on appliances and was told no. On arrival, Consultant immediately began trying to sell me on replacing all kitchen appliances - just like the folks he had just met with had done. While I believe I made it clear that I was not interested, Consultant continued to discuss. In addition, an inappropriate remark was made by Consultant regarding my being budget conscience. I am very disappointed in this experience.

He measured the dishwasher space and the area for the over-the-range microwave - both were empty spaces, void of any appliances at the time. I wanted to be sure the models I liked were correct for the space, etc. It was the first time I was having appliances installed, so I really relied on his expertise. He said everything looked good and was gone in about 5 minutes. He sent over some options and I made the purchase. When the installers came the next week they said they couldn’t do the install because I needed an outlet installed behind the dishwasher and also behind the microwave. What was the purpose of the in-home consultation? Power seems like a pretty basic Step One. It delayed my install substantially. The two giant boxes sat in my living room as a constant reminder of Josh’s incompetence. Totally unacceptable.

After the consultation was completed, i was told i wouls receive a call to schedulw the work. This never happened. I texted the consultant and emailed my assigned coordinator SEVERAL times. in short, never got a response and it was a waste of time.

I was reluctant as I was anxious to buy the TV's and get installed. So the process just delayed the installation (still waiting)... No, i would not use again....even though it is free. Could not buy product after the in home consultation directly with store. Had to wait for the in home consultant to find time for me to order. Had to get store manager involved to prod the consultant to find time for me to order. Would only consider using for a very complex / involved installation.

He had good suggestions but no follow through.

We followed up on three separate occasions asking for the speaker details, costs, etc. but still have never received anything and had to move on. 1. Asked other associates in the store to have him get in touch with us 2. Reached out by phone and asked for costs and ideas for speakers 3. Reached out to him face to face in the store and asked for the same information Also, this is not due to COVID-19. All of this took place well before the Stay At Home order was issued.

Great customer service...above and beyond

Assistance from Nick and Danny was exceptional. Danny agreed to stop by the same day instead of making me wait for my appointment time in order to do an in home consultation to get a TV mounted on my fireplace. Appreciate him showing up on time and giving me all the information I needed to make my purchase. I am extremely satisfied!!!

In home service!

Scott was great, he came to our home and helped us pick out our new tv. He set up the delivery and installation, all from our home. We were very fortunate because I had just had knee replacement surgery and couldn't get to the store.

Lights, security for home use.
