Neither In-home Nor Consultative

[2] Gave incorrect advice on tech needs due to not correctly understanding existing setup. [3] Provided no help scheduling second Geek Squad appointment when work could not be completed during first install appointment - did not even respond to follow up call asking for assistance coordinating the return trip. [4] The Geek Squad installers were helpful and knowledgeable. Would rate them 5 Stars. But the in-home consultant was neither in-home nor consultative.

Wrong Recommendation!

It did not! I had to go to the store and find one that would, returning the one he recommended. What a waste of time. And frustrating!

Some speakers don't work; support terrible.

Instructions on operation was lacking as it documentation left behind. Short explanation is that ability to control which speakers are playing is terrible.

Technician failed to call.

Everything worked but they couldn’t get audio from any of the streaming services previously installed on the smart TV. I went to Best Buy to ask about an optical cable substitute or HDMI cable replacement. The two associates that I spoke with in-store were great and recommended a virtual consultation since I didn’t remember the set-up exactly. On the day of the consultation, I traveled 45 minutes to my parents house which changed two family members’ schedules to accommodate. From 3p to 4p, which was the scheduled consultation, I waited but didn’t receive a call from the technician indicated. I left at 4:15 to go back to Best Buy and ask again in person since I had more information on the set-up. One of the same associates was working and once again, she saved the experience for me in what otherwise was a severe dropping of the ball on their end. We were able to narrow the problem down to two solutions and one of them did work. I love the idea of a virtual consultation but there was clearly something systemically broken with the process.

The consultation was a very bad experience...

As a result of the terrible consultation we had to waits weeks with the refrigerator in the middle of the kitchen floor because the consultant took incorrect measurements. We have gone back to the store a couple of times and finally the got the correct measurements and supposedly the fridge is on it was

LG French door Refrigerator

Before the sale he said any questions please call or text. I had a question on the day of delivery and he was no where to be found and as of two weeks later still has not responded to my e-mail.

Speaker installation and TV install

Very professional and efficient at his installation process and for that I would recommend Without reservation!

Television delivery and installation

They cleaned up and took away all the packaging. I was extremely happy with them and I would highly recommend them!

Wasted not only my time but theirs too.

First person from Best Buy was prompt in coming out and looking at the projects, he decided it was to large of a job for him so he wanted someone from Magnolia to bid the job out. So I waited longer then was suppose to have. They finally came out weeks later, unprepared and some seemed confused about what to do. One person was extremely knowledgeable and had a good grasp on what needed to be done. Waited a couple weeks only to get a call from the first person from BB and he was surprised that no one had been in contact with me. He later called back and said someone from Magnolia would call me with an estimate the next day. Week or so went by the first person fro BB called and asked what I decided? Again he was surprised that no one had contacted me, and said he look into it. Later he called back and said next week Magnolia would contact me and would email the proposal. Not a chase never happened. So I told them unless they were going to push me up the list of getting the work done, just to forget it. So I guess you guys wasted me time. If you can’t preform the work you shouldn’t hire companies that can’t either.

Fantastic recommendations and setup

TV does not meet our expectations

WiFi greatly improved after recommendations

The In-Home Consultation measured my current signal in different areas where we needed it. He recommended a mesh router system that now gives us a strong signal everywhere we need it, even in an out building 100' away from the house.

No response, recommendation doesn't fit; waste

Had measurements provided + had tech come out onsite. Recommended equipment did not fit in the space. Spent 1 hour on multiple calls w/ best buy and no one got me any solution or to someone who was local and could help (multiple transfers and could not transfer me to my local store). Tech did not respond to multiples e-mails or phone call/voicemail. After all of that, I got a thank you automated note saying "Enjoying your new tech?" which is silly because clearly I returned the equipment a week prior and had not received any responses. Good news is it gave me a link to write this review to warn others.

He was super helpful in educating me on various options for products and services. It's great, personalized consultant in your home so the consultant can see exactly where the product will be placed and recommend options.
