Unreliable Service and Poor Overall Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We needed some ceiling speakers and a TV mounted, surround and other media devices installed at a new house. We were told to go with a custom services engagement. It took a couple of weeks to get the onsite estimate scheduled, and then a statement of work was sent 4 or 5 days later. They require payment up front in order to schedule the work, but when trying to pay for it with a Best Buy card, for a Best Buy service, on a Best Buy pay portal website, Best Buy credit kept flagging the purchase as a Casino charge and denying it. Best Buy credit told me they didnt know why and after 2 hours on the phone with them they finally told me there was no way to fix it and id have to drive the 40 minutes back the store to pay in person. With that done, I waited about 2 weeks to get a call to schedule, and never heard from anyone, so went back to Magnolia center at that store (another 40 minute drive) and talked to someone in person again and was told the scheduler had gone on vacation without setting the service up. A scheduler from another store called me soon after to set up the service, with the earliest time about 3 weeks out. Service install went well, guys were great, everything looked good, but after a couple of days of watching tv through the Roku, i noticed that the resolution looked off. Very grainy, lots of artifacts and watching anything like sports, was really difficult. This was a really nice TV and it definitely looked better at our previous house, so i compared it to a much less expensive TCL TV i had just bought for another room and the TCL looked much better than the TV that was 3.5x more expensive and OLED technology. After trying unsuccessfully trying to figure it out myself, I went back the store because i was having trouble reaching someone by phone (another 40 minute drive) and they put in a request to have someone come out and resolve the issue by checking settings, cables etc., then...nothing. Over a week went by and no one called. The original person who did the estimate reached out on Dec. 1st to ask if it had been resolved and promised to fast track it when i said it had not. It is now December 12th, almost 2 weeks later and no one has called, nor answered my texts directly. It seems they are in a rush to get your money, however once they do, service goes into a blackhole. We're now over 2 months since I first initiated this process and although I have paid in full, service is still not complete. I would categorize them as unorganized and relatively unreliable as a whole, and you have to be continually diligent to get them to do whats supposed to be done. Even though its still expensive, their only saving grace was they were still cheaper than some other services I looked into, so if you are willing to deal with the hassle and frustration of poor scheduling, incomplete service, and constantly having to track down whats going on, you can save a few bucks here. If you value customer service, work done well and timely, spend the extra money on a real service provider and the job done right.

Horrible Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.One month ago, Paul Ellis, the In-Home Advisor came to my home measured everything and sent me a proposal to replace my built-in oven, microwave, dishwasher, cooktop, and the hood. The very same day I went to the store and ordered the products that he recommended. The hood that he recommended has only one motor and sucks the air only on that side. I also have a problem with the built in oven. The door is not closing properly because Paul failed to measure it properly and the installer just pushed it in so now one side is protruding and not closing properly. I think that BestBuy uses not well qualified outside contractors for the installation. The one that installed my oven did not even bring it to my attention. I discovered it when I had to bake something for the first time. They also did not show up at one all for one of the appointments. I wasted 2 working days and 2 Saturdays and my appliances are still not working properly. Not to mention the hours and hours spent on the phone calls sometimes waiting for more than 20 minutes to talk to someone. I personally came to the store at least 3 times trying to resolve it. This has been an extremely stressful experience and I don't think that I will ever order from BestBuy again.

Washing machine nightmare
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brought an amana washing machine and had to return because there was standing water under the tub got a replacement the same issue with the replacement. i would not recommend you buy this machine and oh on another note the geek squad is a joke.they use third-party companies there useless.

USELESS CONSULT; NO PROPOSAL, NO HELP, NO FOLLOWUP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is the 3rd request for a review regarding an in-home consultation I had requested in May, 2021. I do not know what happened to the results of the first 2 reviews I completed, I will again repeat that after the consultation, no proposal was ever completed for me and I was never contacted again, or had any kind of follow-up from the "Home Expert". I was interested in "cutting the cord" and had printed out some of the devices suggested on the website. Besides already choosing some products to discuss, I was concerned about getting the most for a visually impaired family member. There was lots of discussion, but after promising a proposal, nothing ever happened. No return call, and when I wen t to the store itself, there was no record of a proposal being put together for me. What else can I say? Absolutely nothing was accomplished after wasting my time with the in-home consultation. No proposal, no list of components, no follow-ups, no help.

In home consultant took measurements

I can't tell you how disappointed I was however I loved my refrigerator and I found a new spot for it but that was super disappointing.

Time to reprogram!

SERVICE after the sale!

Courteous, knowledgeable but no follow up

I believe he is covering too much territory for the company and the follow up from our consultation just hasn’t been there. I have reached out 4 times only get he was working on something but it’s been 2 weeks and I needed to have this locked as I expressed when he was onsite.

vetting for problem needs work

When i made the appointment someone should have been able to tell me they couldn't unlock the phone and saved me a trip. They apparently don't get enough information to let you know then if its something they can do. While the guy was polite after I got there it was quite inconvenient for me to run around in bad weather.

A total waste of time

Mario omitted key pieces of information regarding the install of the range hood although we discussed it ad nauseum for no less than 30 minutes. He should have told me that all Geek Squad wants to do is twist the three wires together and put some screws in the wall. Mario never explained that I would need to hire my own electrician and he never mentioned that I would need to purchase an additional filter for the recirculating vent, even though we had told him that we were not going to vent it through the roof. I now need to reschedule the install for a third time because the same Geek Squad guy keeps showing up to my house just to tell me he still can't install it. Couple this with the fact that it took 3 different attempts to install my dishwasher (due to the incompetency of 2 other Geek Squad members, David and Lewis) and you will find one angry and annoyed customer who spent over $6,000 for nothing but frustration. I now know better... I will forever and always avoid anything with the Geek Squad moniker attached to it. Geek Squad.... what a joke and what a terrible name! I would be ashamed to wake up every day and put that shirt on. Never again!

Awful Experience

I ignored their concerns, and decided to buy two major kitchen appliances, a big screen TV and a few Sonos speakers. The in-home consultant came to my house to look everything, he assured me it would be a seamless process. He was very attentive and followed up with me the next day. Once I made the purchase, that all stopped. There was constant issue the delivery of items. The install Geek Squad techs told me I ordered the wrong accessories. When I tried to reach my in-home consultant, he never got back to me. I have had to miss 3 full days of work to be here for late and rescheduled installs. My TV was not installed correctly the first time, not I am waiting for a second visit, which was rescheduled without notifying me. I would do anything if I could go back in time and make my purchases at ABT Electronics (or any else). I will never buy anything from BestBuy again.

This was a game changer. From beginning to end this has cost me hundreds of dollars as a result of your guys screw ups. It is unacceptaple. Once my tech support is up, I will not renew and will share with my network this awful mess.

Would you be happy??

Refrigerator still hasn’t been installed. Our credit Card hasn’t been credited back the amount from the insurance we decided to cancel a few day after this was paid in full . Nor other credit to our Credit card . Would you be happy???

Great job helping me decide on TV & sound system

He is a great salesman, but the only reason I didn’t rate him excellent, he’s a fast talker and sometimes went overboard with product sales that I wasn’t interested purchasing. Also, I wish Best Buy offered some type of pre-wiring program for homes under construction.

Started promising then it fizzled

The initial meeting was very promising. The consultant came out to the house to discuss what I wanted in a system. I mentioned I wanted to go with an 85" Samsung and Sonos entertainment system. He quoted everything with installation. However, I did not hear back from him after numerous attempts. I go to the Pembroke Pines location and the Magnolia rep that was there had the worst sales skills i've ever seen. I wanted to buy an $8000 entertainment system and I was getting the help. At the end I found out that everything quoted was also out of stock. Why would they quote me items that weren't available for purchase? At the end I bought the Samsung 85' at Brandsmart and the Sonos entertainment system with 2 additional move speakers online. I also had a professional tv mounting company come and setup the system. Very poor experience with the folks at this Best buy.
