Handy for devices and smaller appliances

The Fremo Poratable Power Station (some people call these devices “Power Banks”) is basically an 8 pound portable bank of Lithium-ion batteries within a case with varied power ports and a leather handle, that you can carry when out and about and need power. There are many of these around and Fremo is a relatively new name to the game. Their version is solidly built and attractive with the leather handle, so seems very competitive. So, you charge the Fremo up via an AC outlet if possible with the included brick type adapter. Mine came about 30% charged, and it took a few hours to top it off (NOT a quick charge device), and note, the brick does get quite warm during charging. Optional: You can also charge it up with a car adapter (not included with mine), or if you buy one separately, a 100 watt (or lower) solar panel that comes with adapters of varied sizes so it will plug into the DC-in port on it. Using solar ensures that during longer excursions, or in the event of a longer power outage, you can recharge your Fremo with sunlight outdoors after several hours of exposure. The Fremo body has a variety of power outlets such as two AC outlets for day-to-day appliances up to nearly 300 watts, such as a small LCD Television, lamps, fans, or any other lower-wattage device. You also have four type-A USB ports and one USB-C port, along with a car port (known by some as a “cigarette adapter” and smaller DC port. A built-in LED light/lamp comes in handy and is also on the front and will alternate between continuous light, a S.O.S. blink, or flashing light. A small LCD display will give you readouts on the amount of power that’s incoming, outgoing, and tell you what your remaining battery power is. All of these are on the front, and the sides and back simply have venting to keep the device cool when in use. This particular model is rated to run around 300 watts continuously with 600 watts “peak” (briefly), at 26 amperes. If you load it up to full capacity at the same time, you’ll only get about 1 hour or so of runtime before it’s drained, but most of the time you won’t be doing that. These types and levels of power stations are good to run a small (32 inch or smaller) TV, a lamp or two, radio, charging a laptop or phones a few times, or perhaps a very small mini-fridge or power cooler for a little while. Some models of CPAP machines may however, run for a number of hours with one (check the machine for it’s wattage use, etc). They are not however, rated for full-sized appliances like a home fridge, big screen TV, laundry machines, or heaters. For that type of use, you will need to get a higher wattage rated (and much larger/heavier/more costly) model. As a side-note, the manufacturer recommends you top these off if you don’t use them for 3 months or so. So this is not the type of device that can sit on a shelf for a year and still be nearly fully charged. I plugged in a 32 inch LCD TV with an antenna, and ran a lamp and a small plug-in 10 inch table fan (on high) at the same time. I got about 3 ½ hours using all three simultaneously before the Fremo’s battery got low; your mileage will vary a bit depending on exactly how much wattage each of your devices uses. As an example, a LED TV uses less power than the LCD TV does at the same size. A DC powered fan will use less power than the A/C standard plug-in fan I used, etc. In other words, having specifically rated low wattage devices and/or those that use DC plugs and ports instead of AC, gets the most out of a power bank/station. You can turn on each individual area via their own on button, but in order to turn the unit completely off, you need to press the AC and DC buttons simultaneously (why?). If your primary goal is to keep phones and laptops charged, and to be able to use those fans and lamps or watch a small TV during power outages or when out and about, the Fremo is a great and handy device for that. If you have frequent power outages in your area, investing in a solar panel to keep it charged is worth the investment. These won’t break the bank but will give you at least a basic level of conveniences when power is not available otherwise. Just make sure and understand what they can and cannot do at this level, and you should be happy with it! I recommend this for the purpose it serves.

This is my favorite thing I’ve purchased in a while. I attend a ton of outside sports in Texas for my kids. I can charge my phone, kids tablet, use a fan or plug in my heated blanket. I’ve seen others buy portable fans and heaters but I have one power station for all the things I already own. There’s plenty of different outlets to choose from and the battery life has been more than enough. This has made tournament weekends so much better. It’s not super big or heavy. I normally put it in my wagon with the chairs and bags so it’s not noticeable. Also I’m not worried my car will get broke into because it’s so small and easy to conceal. I wouldn’t leave it in there if it’s too hot outside. It’s not cheap but over time the convenient portability out weighs the cost. My husband wasn’t sure about spending the money for a questionable device but he’s told a few friends about it now so I think he’s definitely on board.

After a recent hurricane, I realized I had a lot of "prep" stuff in my house, but one of my biggest fears was not having a fan if the power was out and there was no A/C. I have small desk fans that run on batteries (some with rechargeable batteries, some without). I really wanted something more substantial than a couple of portable batteries for backup, so I chose this model. While it didn't have the largest capacity for backup batteries in this class and price range, I appreciated the multiple plug types and the display to monitor usage. It took about 2.5 hours to fully charge upon arrival (which was at about 30%), so I'm guessing closer to 3.5 from near zero. I fortunately haven't had an emergency need for it, but I feel much better having it available. The handle feels very secure and the unit is a bit lighter than I expected and very compact, so it's easy to store. I'm grateful that I could run a full-size tower fan from this during a power failure, as well as keeping my phone charged. The light on the front is quite bright as well, so should server well if the power fails in the dark. I can definitely recommend this battery if you want a simple device to operate with multiple plug types.

Fremo - Portable Power Station The Fremo Portable Power Station is the first device of this type for me. I ordered it with anticipation that it would be convenient for powering items during a power outage and it seems to fit the bill for certain items - cell phones, laptops and (hopefully routers - not tested). The power station arrived and after unboxing it and plugging it the power indication was at 30 percent. 4 hours later, it was fully charged. My iPhone 12 Pro was connected to the power station at about 36 percent. I came back around an hour to check and it was fully charged with the power station sitting at 82 percent. The power station itself is a well crafted device that seems to fulfill its purpose as an auxiliary charging device. I thought is might be heavier but with a sturdy handle on the top, it made carrying the device very easy to carry. The ports on the device include 2 electric plugins, 1 USB-C port, 4 USB ports. a DC-In ports and a powerful little light that comes on solid or blinking (great thing to have for roadside emergencies). There is also an input and output wattage indicator. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this power station. I must admit I will find uses in time for it that I haven't discovered yet.

Bought one of these to trial run use on a boat to power phone chargers and a starlink mini. Works flawlessly and the LCD screen is great to take a peak at what wattage you are drawing and how much battery is left on the unit. Using a starlink mini I can run it for about 9 hours at full power draw until it dies so this was absolutely worth the money. So much so I bought a second one to keep at home for other purposes. Totally recommend these over a jackery for the price to performance. Not to mention these have lifepo4 batteries and jackery does not! Excellent purchase

This was perfect for our impromptu camping trip my family and I took. Kept our phones charged and portable fans running all weekend doesn’t take up a lot of space. Plenty of ports. Could maybe use another UsB-C port but other than that no complaints

Amazing entry-level power generator. To be honest, might be the only one I will ever need. Bought it strictly to have power while camping but have so far used it to power my air fryer, mini fridge, charged mine and my familys phones all while the power went out. I love this little thing. If you're on the fence, just get it. Youll love it and use it more than you would have thought.

I wanted to love this thing. It is great, small, and i like he digital display. HOwever, i plugged a warming tray at a tailgate in at 100% and 30 min later was at 21%. Huh? ALso, only one USB-C port. that is a mistake also...so while I liked this....it just doesnt actually supply enough power.

I bought this a few years ago to have as a back up in power outages. It has worked great and hold charge a long time . I like the display that shows you how much power you are consuming and the amount of outlets available to use. I would recommend this to supply power to small household items in a pinch

Got this not long ago. So far, so good. Powered my phones, speakers, tablets & laptops when & where there's no regular power, either home or away. Gives light as well. Easy to recharge with mains. I just acquired a solar panel to power it. Even though i haven't used it, i hope all will be perfect. I like it very much, it is serbing a good purpose.
