What I don’t like is the weird metal/plastic-y taste of the ice… it dramatically ruins the taste of the drink.

Unplug your unit and try flushing your unit several times with a mixture of 10% white vinegar and warm water. Then flush your unit with clear potable water several times to eliminate the vinegar residue.

Frigidaire is a wonderful, reliable company that makes great products. That’s why we were so shocked that our ice maker was not Up to their standards. Water shoots out a diagonal stream in one corner saturating the ice below. Plus all the extra water causes a huge mound of ice to Form and stick to the Cube trays. The only way to get it loose is to shut the machine off & let it mela. We are so afraid it will freeze up & overheat the ice maker, we never leave home without turning it off. This means not much to no ice when we return. We are very disappointed. We took out the insurance on it but not sure if forming ice clumps is a covered item. It is wonderful when it behaves.
