Q: Does this make clear or cloudy ice?
A: Clear.
A: Unplug the unit for an hour to allow it to reset. Fill the water reservoir with cold potable water. Plug the unit back in and set it to make ice. If the unit fails to make ice it may be defective. A: There is a float in the bottom of the reservoir and when the water collects and the float comes up to the “stop”, it switches off the machine and the LCD displays E with a flashing power button. The ice maker pours water over the ice collectors and until the water freezes it collects in the reservoir and is pumped back up to the ice collectors. If too much water gets in the reservoir the float will cut off the machine. You can use a small cup to remove water from the reservoir until the float moves down and restores power.
Q: Does the ice stay frozen in the unit?
A: Hey, DJ! The ice on the model you selected will stay frozen for a period of 8 hours. ~Courtney
A: No, using a water bottle and setting it at the top of the unit, like a small water cooler is not an option. The cover is where you pour water into the holding tank where the pump draws water from to make ice. I would recommend using filtered water so as to reduce the amount of deposits that may clog the tubing if you don't regularly clean the unit. There is a maximum fill line inside and adding too much water could damage the unit. Too little water in the tank will cause the unit to stop making ice cubes but shouldn't damage the unit as it will turn itself off. Once you add water again after getting the low water warning you would need to restart the unit.
Q: Display screen is blank. Unit is on and running.
