Note: this review has to do with Best Buy, not the product itself. Be careful when buying an Open Box item. I bought this AC as an Open Box Excellent - so the product was supposed to look new and work perfectly fine. When it arrived though, it was a nightmare. Best Buy clearly did not do their due diligence in ensuring this product was in excellent condition. The front panel was absolutely covered in scuff marks, a wheel was broken, the front panel has a chip in it and was coming disconnected from the sides, and the prongs on the plug itself were very bent. Now this might have been damaged in shipping except for the fact that there was a USPS 8 x 11 return box addressed to someone who was not me. If they had properly inspected the AC, they would have seen that box and removed it. To make matters worse, I call Best Buy and they said to return it in store and I can get an replacement free of charge. Only to drive out to the store and have they say they can't do that, they can only refund me my order. After all that hassle, when I called Best Buy again to try to get a replacement for their mistake in quality control, they said they can't do that and I'll have to pay the current price for an Open Box Excellent which was $40 more. Bottom Line: Be careful when buying used products from Best Buy. They clearly don't inspect the products before setting a price and all it'll do it waste your time and money making you run around while receiving conflicting information. I am definitely taking my business elsewhere.

This unit is very user friendly. It is easy enough to install and has helped mitigate the temperature on hotter days. After the last freestanding AC unit we bought 2 summers ago stopped working and we couldn't find anyone to service it in time for a heat wave (or after), we bought this one as a replacement. Unfortunately, unlike our older device (very similar design/functionality, but a Black & Decker), it does not seem to adequately cool the square footage to the extent that it claims, so while it helps, it's definitely not a cure-all for our space. Part of this is just that our house is older and in a climate experiencing more heat extremes than originally expected when it was built, as well as the fact that the layout makes the unit's distribution of cool air more challenging. It's also not the best design for efficiency, as heat comes off of the tube that hooks up to the window, which counteracts the purpose of the device. Ultimately, if it is possible for you, I would recommend a window-unit over these for that reason. I would have done that had the option.

effective but a little loud, the window kit might require you to saw off some of the window attachment to fit in a smaller window, which i would have like to have known about before purchasing this

I recently acquired the Frigidaire 3-in-1 Portable Room Air Conditioner and I'm impressed especially since a "portable". First off ... the unit was packaged really well; nothing moved in the box during shipment and nothing was broken. I really liked the laminated card that accompanied the shipment showing al the parts and unpacking guide. It was very handy when verifying everything in the box, and I was glad to see that there weren't dozens of parts! The top-mounted control panel was easy to read and understand; there was no doubt on how to operate the A/C unit. The A/C was easy to setup, The windown kit was easy to mount and it seems very secure in the window; I guess over time we'll see if it is also good "security" so no one can climb in the window! In operation I was really quite surprised at how much "cold air" the unit generated! I've had portable units in the past and they were always too loud and had a neglible amount of cold air disbursed into the room. This Frigidaire unit is definitely an exception. I also liked the "night time" operation ... where it started out a bit louder and lots of cold air, and they every 2 hours it ""reduced" the noise and output. Very good feature! Having a remote is a good feature! It was easy to use and it and unit were very responsive to one another. It remains to be seen how good the unit operates in the long term, since I've only been using a couple of weeks in low humidity heat. I can't wait to move the unit to another house in an adjacent state that is near the beach with a lot of humidity. I think the only thing I didn't like about the unit was that you couldn't put against the wall nor in front of drapes/curtains. Not only is the exhaust line out the back but also the intake, so it can gobble up your drapes/curtains. you want to make sure you get FRESH air into the unit ... but watch out for dusty areas. I haven't used the unit enough to require cleaning ... I'm hoping its a simple process. Overall, I really like this unit. If it works as good as I hope in the higher humidity house, then I'll definitely purchase another unit for a different location in the house.

This cools my 92 year old Mother in law’s bedroom. It’s quite, cools too about 2 degrees of the setting. Great little unit.

I absolutely Love this thing! Living in the Dessert Part of California out summers get pretty darn hot Especially since we live in an old apartment building. I ordered this to help with the temperature in the bedroom at night. I keep it set at 72 and run it for 5 hours at night and it keeps the room feeling perfect and we can still sleep with the comforter on. Absolutely amazing.

So like lots of others across the US, we have been experiencing more hot weather this summer than in years past. Living in the PNW, no one really has central AC in homes or apartments, as there was no need for so long. Seems as that is changing. Last few summers have had heat wave spells of varying lengths. Hard to sleep or even wind down in the evening if it is stifling hot inside. We had purchased a cheaper model online a couple of years ago, but apparently the life span of the cheaper units is, well you get what you pay for. This unit isn't top of the line, but does have some great features above others and remains affordable. Easy to set up right out of box. Its a portable AC unit. Not too difficult to navigate. Has a remote and a timer setting, neither of which we really use, as once its on it stays on until we wake up in the morning. Like to be comfy all night to get a good nights sleep. It is definitely quieter than the last one we were using which also helps with a good sleep! Our old one was one speed fan and did not have the dehumidifier options, which we didn't miss since we din't have them. I will say the dehumidifier option is not something to overlook or skimp on when shopping for AC. Again, goes back to comfort. When the air is already humid and thick, this helps dry out the room while it cools. Just remember to empty the water tank and clean the filter often or it will not work at optimum performance and will eventually shut off until they are cleaned. I am glad we upgraded to this model. Better service and comfort and the price did not break the bank. Hope to not have to use it too much longer this year!

The air conditioner works very good but the kit does not come with a kit to install to a sliding glass door that will have to be purchased seperately and the right size. other problems.

Excellent AC it’s cooling all room and also it not noisy

I have owned three portable air conditioners, but this one is by far, the best! It cools my apartment quickly. I especially love that the air blows upwards and the swing mechanism keeps the flow moving. Not as quiet as I would like, but I can live with that better than the heat.

Works well. Not too loud. Best buy for the money. Would buy again

After seven years without an A/C I finally broke down and purchased one since we have reached highs of 100 for over two weeks straight. I conducted extensive research to ensure I wasn't buying a bad product due to the price, and I knew I didn't want a window unit because they are so bulky. This portable room air conditioner takes the cake! Let me start by saying - I have a cat with a LOT of fur and a dog that sheds like crazy. The purifier/filter thing on this works so well that when I sweep now, there is barely any hair around. Not to mention the filter itself is easy to remove and clean. My allergies have improved noticeably since getting this! This unit keeps my home cool, and it has a remote that is easy to use. My favorite function is the "swing" which causes the vent to move up and down to better disperse the cool air. It may seem a bit pricey, but truly I have no complaints!

Great product but the window kit was too big for the window I had to cut it.

It kept the living room cool the week we had to use it. It was more expensive than some chimpanzees.

First one came broken but bestbuy made it right. Ac works great i use it at night in my room. Perfect for what i need

It’s cold as ice but it’s a freight train. It was so loud it kept me from hearing the calls where I work from home. (I got it for my home office. Ended up returning it.)
