    Test the ac before you set it up!

    This ac unit did not work at all , blew hot air and ac motor never fired up. Total waste of time having to pick it up at the store , set up at home, then return to store. Save yourself some time and get a reliable unit instead of this one.

    Not sure if mines was defective but it bearly cooled my room and the compressor would constantly be off. I got it replaced with an LG and huge difference

    Did not cool the way we needed. We returned and bought a window unit. Sure it looks old school but it works.

    Worked well for 2 months. Now it no longer cools the room at all. Of course it broke 3 days past the return window. Look else where for something reliable.

    A decent portable AC unit, worth giving it a try

    I have become quite the portable air conditioner user. Why? Well it seems our heat pump (which is also an AC unit) seems to break at least once or more per summer. And in addition, we use these units to cool either rooms that get hotter than others due to sun baking the brick like a brick oven, or in rooms that are bigger than others and need additional cooling. Also at night, I sleep with it at the lowest temperature possible, to prevent PTSD nightmares. Being cool seems to help with this. So typically these are used in addition to our heat pump's cooling feature and not in a non-air conditioned room. Until the AC breaks. Anyway, I was impressed with many of the things about this. First of all, it has app connectivity. That is a big plus when the remote gets lost or is on the wife's side table. Or, if I want to pre-cool a room before bed for example. Or to make sure the wife turned off the air conditioner when she came down. The remote control that comes with this reminds me of a remote control for a 1990's TV for size. And that is a good thing. It is backlit (night time is when it mostly used, so a big plus) and it is something that isn't easy to drop when handling it in the middle of the night. I am not a fan of remote controls that are so small they get lost in your hand. It is a full feature remote control, so that is a plus too. Typical stuff on this is the cool mode, fan mode, dehumidify mode, and auto mode. Same with the fan, high, medium, low, and auto. Temperature range is typical and the display/control panel are easy to see and use. Plus, this unit has a mode that allows the louver to move up and down, to help more easily disperse the cold air and it isn't all landing in one spot. This is a great feature to have. That is the swing feature. It works well, and gives a good swing amount. An unusual but appreciated feature is an ionizer built into this. That helps to zap the negative particles of dust in the air, and can be turned off if you are not a fan of these (no pun intended). The hook up for the power is typical household outlet. Just plug it in. It does have a GFI plug so if it shorts out, it throws the little circuit breaker in the plug, to shut it off. As for connectivity to your window, there are options. You can use it with a standard double hung window, or a slider window. It won't make it for a sliding glass door, at least I don't think so based on the size of the adapter. And you probably shouldn't do that anyway, because it would make your house easy to break into. But lots of options here. Typical adapter that goes onto the unit, and then the hose, and the pieces to make it work with your window. It took about 5 minutes to get it from the box to cold air running. No kidding. I am experienced with them, but it isn't rocket science, very easy directions and very easy to do. It produced very cold air, and cooled off the kitchen space which is about 20'x20', with multiple openings, and is part of that brick oven effect whereas the sun beats down on the brick front of the house and makes it feel like a brick oven inside. It lowered the already somewhat cooled area by 5 degrees within 30 minutes or so. Very fast cool down, fan is adequate albeit a bit weaker than I would like, and the swing feature really helped with that fan. As for noise, it is average for a air conditioner like this. Nothing bad or good compared to others. I will say that the fan will go up and down, based on whether it is cooling or not, and it seemed to shut off after awhile, when the range was turned up. A secret I've learned about these over the years is that if you just turn it off in the morning, it'll build up moisture that didn't go out the hose overnight. Mind you, the hot air and the humidity go out the same single big hose. So it sends that outside. No 2nd hose is needed to drain water. BUT, if you routinely just turn it off in the morning, it could be an issue. What I would do is to turn the temp up as high as it would go, and let it run the fan only for a couple of hours, to ensure the unit is dry inside. This unit seems as though putting it on fan mode and letting it run this way is the way to go as the fan won't shut off prematurely. Also note, this unit DOES have a schedule feature of which you can turn it on/off via a predetermined schedule. Handy if you find you need it on for certain periods or to follow your schedule for when you need it most. Overall a decent unit, has wheels to make moving it around much easier, and has handles to grab and lift it if needed. Everything you need is included. Worth a try and worse case if you don't think it is for you, take advantage of the Best Buy return policy. If I were buying one of these, this would be a keeper.

    I’ve had this product for one summer and put it away in the winter. This summer, I bring it out and it stopped blowing cold air. Its Luke warm and I’ve deep cleaned it multiple times.

    Our central A/C died last month on the very first day of our summer heat wave in the Deep South, & every single HVAC company in our area was booked solid for the next 2 days. By 2pm it was 94 degrees outside & 91 degrees in my upstairs office. I was MISERABLE! How I wish we’d had this unit already. Even after the A/C was repaired, we noticed it was unable to keep up every afternoon & into the evening. We would set the thermostat at 75 in the morning to give the A/C a running start each day, but by early afternoon the indoor temp would begin creeping upwards to 77-78-79. Enter the Frigidaire 3-in-1 Portable Room A/C unit which is now providing relief during the dogdays of August. This unit is easy to set up & can be used for a temporary fix or a long-term solution. Since our HOA forbids window units, and it’s too soon to upgrade the inadequate contractor-grade HVAC system that the builder installed when the house was new, this portable upright unit (on rollers) is the perfect solution for our supplemental cooling needs on hot summer afternoons. It’s about the size of a large upright living room air purifier or a large 58L kitchen trash can. The only thing you can see from the street is the small opening for the heat exhaust. When fall arrives, we can easily pull the hose from the window & roll it into a closet until next season. We currently have it set up in an open area that covers the dining room, family room & kitchen (approx. 500 sq. ft.). When we turn on the unit in the afternoon, we usually keep it at the default room temperature setting of 72 degrees with the fan on “high.” The effect is pronounced and quick with a temperature drop of 3 degrees in about 30 minutes. The unit has a pleasant fan noise, not shrill like some appliances. No “warm up” time is required; so, as soon as the unit turns on, it beings blowing cold air instantaneously. Once the inside temp reaches 72, we turn the fan down to a nice quiet “white noise” level that’s on par with the soft indoor airflow sound of our central A/C system. We’re using it on the “Cool” setting which doesn’t cause any drainage, but it can be switched to the “Dry” mode which will pull the moisture from the air. In Dry mode, you’ll need to attach the drain hose (included) & add a drip pan. This unit also comes with a remote (batteries included). The remote shows your current settings & allows you to change modes, temp settings, & fan speeds as well as set the timer. The only negative is the flimsy heat exhaust hose which too easily disconnects from the plastic window connector if you bump it in the least. That needs a redesign to something sturdier/more substantial.

    Purchased/Installed: 3/31/2023 Died: 5/30/2023 (no longer cools). When it worked it struggled to keep a 10 x 24 room with 8’ ceilings comfortable. On a positive note I did enjoy the app and ability to monitor status remotely.

    We used this for 2 weeks during the summer when our air conditioner went out. We tried using it yesterday to cool off the living room that was overheated and it wouldn’t cool. I’m glad we found out before next summer. What a waste of money.

    I've had the air conditioner for exactly 15 days and it has stopped working. The reset button on the cord does not stay in. The return period at Best Buy is 14 days. Extremely disappointed.

    This Frigidaire three in one portable air conditioner is one of the best I have put to use in my home yet. I traditionally buy window units when they go bad every few years, this is a welcome replacement. The biggest advantage to using this portable setup is I can leave the screen in the windows, so NO BUGS!! My wife and I have 4 daughters and they are wimps when it comes to bugs, oh, who am I kidding, so is my wife. This setup keeps all those critters outside and keeps your area cooler due to having less issues with leaking as well due to this design. The 3 in one setup is great especially with the "Dehumidifying Dry Mode", this is a HUGE plus living in a high humidity area. The Dry Mode feature helps with making the room more comfortable by removing the excess humidity in the air when cooling so you do not have that heavy air and moisture that makes you sweat when the heat rises on super hot days. The Ion Air Purifier is a great addition as well with our actual purifier, I have noticed our expensive purifier actually runs less now showing the air conditioner is actually working. The is also an air filter that is for collecting dust to help keep the unit cleaner for many more years of service and your home as well. The air filter is washable, this is a plus, no ongoing maintenance costs which is a huge positive for all consumers.\ The included remote works great but the Alexa and Google Assistant are 10 times better in my opinion. I was able to setup schedules with my Google Assistant to turn it on 30 minutes before I get home so I can walk into a cool living room to take a 10 minute break after a hot shop all day. I can also tell it when I want it turned off and it takes care of it, this is one more step of home automation right here. The power of this unit is rated at 12k BTU with a 550 sq ft space of cooling power. My downstairs living room, dining room and kitchen are 727 sq ft and it keeps it all cooled at 75 degrees on a 90 degree day without issue, so the rating is well under what it can actually do and that is with 9 ft ceilings. Also, all this cooling power with the sound of a hair dryer next door, it is very quiet compared to a window unit, no issues with sleeping, napping or watching TV with this unit. Frigidaire knocked it out of the park with this unit, I cannot speak about how long it will last but I am very pleased so far.

    he Frigidaire 3 in 1 portable air conditioner is a very nice unit. It has the ability to be used as an AC Unit, Dehumidifier, or Fan for air circulation. The unit is quite heavy, but it has coaster wheels that make it easy to roll to the room or area where you’d like to unit to be in use. The unit was well packaged. When you remove the tie straps, it allows you to slide the shell of the box up. This keeps you from having to pick the the unit up out of the box. The bottom of the box has a Styrofoam base. This one area in the packaging that could use some improvement. The weight of the unit caused the Styrofoam base to break. This caused small pieces of Styrofoam to be stuck in crevices at the bottom of the unit. I had to turn the unit on its side and use a vacuum cleaner to remove all of the many Styrofoam pieces. After unpacking the unit I was looking for the manual and thought they forgot to include it. I later found it inside the vent tube. I would have rather them placed the manual on top or somewhere on the side of the unit. In order for them to place the manual in the vent tube, they had to roll the manual in a cone shape. While reading the manual it was difficult trying to keep it flat because it kept wanting to roll back up. As for the unit itself, it was very easy to operate and the touch sensitive buttons work well. It includes a remote which allows you to operate the unit from across the room. It would have been nice if the unit had a storage compartment for the remote for those times when the unit is not being used. The unit has WiFi built in for connecting to your home’s WiFi network. The Frigidaire app was easy to install and setup on my mobile device. It allows me to turn on and off the unit, control the temp, and other useful features.I was able to setup the Frigidaire skills app with Amazon Alexa. After setting it up with Amazon Alexa it has a long name which includes the serial number in its name. I renamed it to a shorter and more manageable name. The unit is also rather quiet and blows very good air. Overall, I’m happy with the Frigidaire portable AC and hope to get years of service from it.

    It was not at all clear from the website information how the unit needed to be connected. I did not want to add a special breaker or adapt a crank out type window to handle the unit. I will be returning it.
