Not so portable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The installation for this is not as easy as it is made to seem. Nothing about this unit is portable. The window part has to be screwed into the window sockets and for someone like me who has metal ones, this doesn't work. We had to use tons of tape and glue to hold it in place and the exhaust hose still comes out of the window piece at times.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the hose does not align with the window opening piece that it comes with and tends to pop out if you move the ac.

This one seems to be built much better. The remote also has a small screen on it to see what the AC is set to

I think portable ones are not as effective as window air conditioners. I live on the top floor. The air conditioner that is supposed to handle 350 sq ft couldn't handle 250 sq ft. Disappointing.

We recommend that portable models sit where the length of the hose will be shortest, to limit any heat redistribution from the exhaust. I used it in my bedroom and it works well but after sometime I began hearing a rattling noise coming from the fan. I was confused because I used this product very lightly, maybe 3-4 per week. It goes to show that this product is not too quaility in its durablilty. I would recommend spending more for a product that will last longer than a month and a half before malfunctioning.
