A: Hi Rick, That is a good point. I experienced the same thing in our bathroom unit -- it got to about 130 degrees on the hose temperature. Yes, this is common with all portable AC units. If you use a cool aide insulator on the exhaust hose, it takes care of the heat and brings the unit hose to room temperature.
Q: Is this unit self evaporating or will I have to constantly drain it?
A: Hi Steve! The water does evaporate. However, if for any reason the bottom tray gets full, you will possibly receive a “P1” message on your display. Which will alert you to drain the tray.Hope this helps! -Thanks!-
Q: Will the unit still work if it you have to lay it on its side during transit to your home?
A: It will, but like any other refrigeration unit, it should be returned to the upright position for several hours prior to turning it on. This allows the oil in the compressor to return to its proper location.
Q: specs list cord as 6.6 inches. hoping thats a typo ?
A: You're right! The power cord is 6'(feet).
Q: Will this unit operate with an extension cord? Or does it haveto be plug directly into an outlet
A: Rob, we do not recommend the use of extension cords. Units that have a “Single Circuit” label should not be plugged into outlets, extension cords, surge protectors or circuits with other appliances. This can damage the unit and overload the circuit. Operating a unit at the wrong voltage is dangerous. ~Maggie
Q: What if the filter restart button turn on
A: clean the filter
Q: How do you clean the filter?
A: will water
A: Yes, the automatic evaporative technology is integral to the unit. The integrated dehumidifier drains water from the unit using a drain hose.
