Posted .Vypermajik, thank you for choosing Frigidaire for your appliance needs. A unit too small for the area to be cooled will run continually without cooling effectively. The room remains too warm and too humid. A unit that is too large for the space to be cooled will actually be less effective than one that's the correct size. Humidity is extracted from the air as it is drawn over and around the cool evaporator coils of the air conditioner. Some friendly tips to keep in mind to get the best cooling performance for your home comfort appliance. * Try installing the room air conditioner on the shady side of your home/room. A window that faces north is best because it is shaded most of the day. * try keeping blinds and drapes in other windows closed during the sunniest part of the day * External house shading with trees, plants or awnings will help reduce the air conditioner’s workload.

Attempting to cool off an area within the dimensions design for this model has been quite unsuccessful attempts . Even the connection to the window has caused me to break a sweat even with me in front of this working machine.. I will definitely be returning this as my fan and air purifier provide more refreshing air than this disappointing 60 lbs + unit..

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Item advertised to work in both horizontal sliding and vertical windows, however the exhaust kit was not designed for a slider that opens from right to left that has some depth on the inside of the window. The adapter does not attach straight on and therefore impacts the drywall on the inside of the window. Called Frigidaire customer service to see if they offered a mirrored version of the exhaust kit, but they do not.

We bought it to a/c our garage for our band practices; however, this unit is not practical for the garage because we have to leave the garage door partially open to do so. Cool air escapes even with putting materials to block the opening.

In order to cool a space, a portable air conditioner needs to be able to exhaust the hot air that is produced during the cooling process. It is recommended to exhaust out a window so that the seal will be airtight. A garage door would not be recommended for proper installation. We are happy to take your feedback! ~Ashton

This unit sucks all the air from the room creating a negative pressure and exhausts it ouside. I have a 10 x 20 room and does not perform well after running for 5 hours on a 85 degree day only dropped the temp. 2 degrees.

It doesn't set up as the instructions say it should. I wish I could say more but I wasn't ever able to set it up so I can't review the performance of it. I will stick to the old fashioned windows units.
