We bought this air conditioner last Fall, and while it does cool well enough, the fan will not continue running after the compressor shuts off, even when in Cool mode. I called Frigidaire Customer Service a month ago, and they agreed that it was defective. They were going to send me a confirmation letter with instructions on how to cut the cord to the unit, then mail them a photo of the air conditioner showing that the cord is cut, as well as a copy of the receipt. After they receive my mail back to them, they would then mail me instructions on replacing the air conditioner. That last process alone could take about 10-14 days. In the meantime, after the cord-cutting, etc. process, we will be in the Texas Gulf Coast with no air conditioner. To date, we have yet to receive any correspondence from Frigidaire. We are still using the air conditioner, but it cuts off in the middle of the night, even though it is not in Eco mode. It is so loud that when it cuts off, the silence wakes us up. We have gotten used to the noise, but this air conditioner is quite a bit louder than the Frigidaire that it replaced. We are now getting into the heat of the season, and waiting for them to process this by mail is ridiculous, even if they sent us the letter when we called in. We've had Frigidaire units before, but their quality has gone downhill from what they used to be.

Recently my a/c unit gave out it was also a Frigidaire i had it for 12 years it was a 10,000Btu unit but was really outdated (using high amount of amps 9.7--925watts/10.8 efficiency the back of the unit got rusty and the aluminum fins got destroyed in the process. so looking at these new units i decided on this 8000 Btu unit for a few reasons #1 it only Pulls 6 amps /#2 its only using around 660watts and the efficiency rating is also higher 12.1. this unit blows just as hard or more than my tired old 10,000 btu unit did. the install was a piece of cake took me about 30 minutes and all is well again with the temperatures in long beach ca getting higher every year i need the a/c in my apartment.there simply is no other 2 ways about it i just cant go without air conditioning these days unless you want to sweat you butt off all the time i like to be comfortable with that being said this was a good purchase and a bargain @239.00 i got the extended warranty also and probably wont need it as i mentioned beforehand my old unit lasted 12 years.

I needed to replace an old 5,050 BTU that came with my apartment, due to it not being able to cool the space off. My apartment is the upstairs of a duplex and it gets hot! We are currently in a heat wave and it has done a decent job at keeping my living room/kitchen space (about 350sqft) at a comfortable temp. It does not freeze the space out, but I am happy with its performance so far.

Purchased the 8,000 as a replacement to my older Frigidaire. Satisfied with the cooling but it is much louder than my older model. Annoying but does the job.

I bought this for my new home to put in my 16x18 bedroom. It works perfectly! The remote is easy to use and is great for when you want to make a change from across the room. The high fan speed setting is loud, but the medium and slower fan speeds are both quiet. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great unit at a good price.

Does not get cold as the temperature shows. Must put to the coldest setting…(even at night) Very disappointing.. Bedroom less then 350 sq foot…

Yes, it cools, but it is so loud!! We use it on the eco mode and it wakes us up all night long. It sounds like a freight train is in our room. Terrible purchase.

This has to be the best window unit I've ever owned. I've had it for 3 years and not an issue.

This unit is lightweight and when running the compressor noise isn't too bad, its when the compressor stops the fan speed is entirely to high even when set to low. Its louder than the 10,000 btu GE it replaced.

I purchased this item as an “open box” purchase for a 300 square foot room. Imagine my frustration when after getting up 3 flights of stairs and installing, the thing did not cool. I ran it for 2 hours, it would alternate between cooling air for 10 min, and hot air for 30 min. I checked ALL settings, it was NOT on eco mode or fan mode. I brought it back to exchange thinking maybe its because it was open box. To my surprise, there were TWO people in front of me returning NEW Frigidaire air conditioners. One was the same BTU as mine, the other was higher. Both customers had the same complaint as I did. There was also a gentleman behind me asking us questions because his stopped working after 1 summer. He was trying to figure out if he could still return it. Glad I saw that, decided to go with a different brand.

Bought this trash AC twice already with the same problem. I can’t use it on high cause it starts making this loud noise like it’s about to explode And the AC stops running! Called Frigidaire customer service and they said it’s better of taking it back to bestbuy cause sending someone to look at it it’s not worth it.

After carefully installing my AC UNIT , it does not work properly. It blows air, but the air is warm not cool. I guess there is something wrong with it ... Please send me another unit, one that works . I do want to write a more appropriate review...
