The fan does cycle on and off. Quietly the unit monitors the room humidity, then will turn fan on, reach preset level by user, then fan will shut off. Got it on sale, 20% off with a 20% coupon and sale was 20% off to start...

The unit has been performing very well and is keeping the 2500 sqft space at 55 percent humidity. I have added the hose for constant drainage this was very useful in the unit running consistently.

Different fan speeds to choose from and hose hooked up to adapter without leaking. Just hope it lasts over 15 years like the previous Whirlpool model we had. And thank you Best Buy for price matching Amazon!

With 70%+ humidity levels indoors, we are having mold issues causing me to have respiratory problems. This unit was plug and go!! It has dropped our humidity levels by 20% and more!! What a relief!! Works great and I highly recommend it!!

Running it at 50% humidity it runs off and on for about 24 hours before having to empty it. Another nice feature is that you can insert a hose adaptor then run the hose to a drain. You never have worry about emptying it.
