In order to minimize air leaks between the room air conditioner and the window opening, suitable weather stripping (trim the provided weather stripping into suitable size) should be applied in case of any gaps found at the location. Installed the unit fairly easily and quickly; not really much difficulty. I live in an old farmhouse so I don't have "standard" windows. Unit came with sufficient hardware but I made additional brackets to insure unit was securely attached from 2nd story window. Powers on and remote works well so far. Only used a few hours.

Not Quiet, Not Great Cooling

It is neither quiet nor efficient at cooling, even though our square footage is less than that specified. Now, it's already installed (by us) and don't think it's worth uninstalling and lugging it somewhere for return. Not a great buy.

It is normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air, gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all normal. For more information of normal sounds during operation, please refer to page 4 in your Owner’s Manual. Verify that the original installation procedures have been followed properly. Pay special attention to any gaskets. If improperly installed, even a high quality, low-noise unit can rattle mercilessly. Ensure the remote control is within 20 feet & 120° radius of the front of the unit–and free from any obstructions –preferably in the same room as the unit.
