I was desperate once and bought a no name brand that only seems to make noise, I went to Best Buy and bought a new one for my 95 yr old mother, It has various functions but my favorite is 'auto'.

I was looking for one that wasn't too loud and even though the reviews were mixed, they tended toward it being quiet. The one I have is horribly loud even on low. It is easy to install and does cool down the room, but I can't recommend it because of the noise.

Not too noisy and really worth the money. Also wanted to mention that the Geek Squad did a wonderful job handling delivery and setting up the air conditioner for instant use.

The fit and finish is good and the price was right. The remote control is a nice feature. Surprisingly quiet as well ! If i can get 4 or 5 summers from it then it will be well worth the money.
