During operation, this model will produce different noises and sounds depending on what component is being used. For example, today’s high-efficiency compressors may have a high pitched chatter during the cooling cycle. This was the second most expensive a/c that the store had. For the amount that I paid I expected it to cool the room, this is not what happened. Its highest setting is mediocre. I would return this if I could. I do not recommend.

None of them worked! However since it was passed the short return window they refused to do anything.

Fan is loud

Fan runs before compressor kicks on and runs for a while after the compressor shuts down. Have other units bigger than the one I got and they were a lot quitter. Had to take it back. No problem. Hope Frigidaire learns out how to make the fans run quitter.

Posted .Hi, Will! We are sorry to hear that you have found the noise of the fan bothersome! In Cool Mode, the fan will continue to run and cycle the air after the compressor turns off. In Eco Mode, the fan will cycle on occasionally after the compressor has shut off to test the temperature and then turn off. Thank you for your feedback! ~Ashton

Oh, and while it was running it barely kept pace with the 5,000 btu unit this replaced.

We installed it this past Sunday and thus far its doing what it should. I don't think its to loud - its a window unit so we have to deal with some noises but it cools our living/dining/kitchen area quite well...this unit was not on the floor so if you go searching for one - check inventory online and have them check the back warehouse cause they didn't think it was in stock until I showed them it was from my smart phone... God bless - long hot summer ahead :(

For how quickly it cools down our entire downstairs (it's a small, non-open floor plan house, but the living room is a good size), the noise is bearable. Especially since you probably won't need to keep it running consistently. We had a terrible hot and humid summer up here in NE Pennsylvania, and our house holds in heat like it's a priceless diamond. Even then, we only have to keep the AC running for about 15-20 minutes before it actually gets too COLD!
