You have to expect a little noise . . . it's blowing cooled air. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase. I'm cooling a utility room, on the outside of the house. I'm not sure how well insulated it is but the air conditioner keeps it at a nice 65/66 degrees even when its 87 degrees outside.
