This product has very limited warranty coverage. I purchased the extended warranty from Best Buy since the unit is not expected to last beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Get the extended warranty.

We only used this unit for 1 week, and in that time it ran very inconsistently, registered humidity readings ranging between 40-70% at different times each day, sometimes within the same hour (this was during a very dry spell of weather), and kicked out a tremendous amount of heat. The last straw was when, even though we had the hose hooked up to it and directed to our floor drain, we found puddles of water under and around the unit one morning. It had been draining through the hose, so we know that was hooked up correctly. And the water bucket in the unit was bone dry. We were not able to get it back to the store for another week, which was apparently 15 days after our purchase date, and Best Buy would not issue a refund beause it was 1 day past the 14 day return policy for this type of product. We were only offered a gift card for the purchase price. The manager told us we "were lucky they were giving us a gift card" because the agreement they have with a lot of manufacturers is that we would have to deal with them directly for warranty work in this situation. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE for a $200+ item that failed in such a short time after purchase, or was probably defective from the factory. We would've exchanged for a GE, but BB doesn't carry that brand, and the reviews on the other models they do carry were not good. Disappointed in the product, but more so with the lack of customer service from Best Buy.

Also it is a 70L per day humidifier with a 17L container. Have fun emptying that every few hours. Basically I should have done more research before purchasing this unit. It does work quickly, but I need AC not a heater right now.
