Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the 70-Pint Dehumidifier's performance, noise level, humidity control, and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness at removing moisture and its quiet operation. However, customers are negative about the small water tank capacity, which requires frequent emptying, and some express concerns regarding the warranty coverage. The price is also mentioned favorably by some users. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments on the water tank and warranty.

Great performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first review of any product. I picked this dehumidifier up yesterday evening and turned it on. This morning (12 hours later) I had a full bin of water. It really works like it says. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to dehumidify an area of their house. I have it in an open area that is open to to the whole house. It's exposed to approx 2,500 square feet and is working wonderfully. When first plugged in the humidity was at 55%. This morning the humidity is at 50%. It isn't very loud. As it works it has warm air blowing out which is nice in the winter. This is part of the process of taking the humidity out of the air. We are extremely happy with this dehumidifier! It performs exactly like it is supposed to so far.

Very poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased this product in 2018. By late 2020 the fault code FO prevented the appliance from working. Fortunately the warranty was 5 year and still in effect. When questioned about the fault, it was only explained as an internal fault and a replacement would be sent. The replacement was a different style and only lasted and a year and a half. The fault code was CE on this model and when i questioned it again it was only explained as an internal fault. Again it was replaced under the original warranty, but I did notice the warranties on the replacements were only one year. Well less then a year the CE fault code came up again and this time after pressing for an answer it was explained to me the appliance has this problem when it is not used for a period of time. So basically on the off season you can not turn it off and store it. No where is this in the manual. My warranty is up and now I have to pay to dispose three dehumidifiers. (I kept them around until the warranty expired). I based my original purchase on reviews and want to insure people get the picture of the long term performance of this product.

Great value for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 months into the use of this dehumidifier and it is working well. I do not perceive it to be any more or less noisy than other similar units. The electronic controls work well and keep the humidity close to the set point. The bucket in this unit is smaller than in other dehumidifiers we have owned in the past. Up to this point, I have not found the more frequent bucket emptying to be an annoyance however. Overall, this dehumidifier seems to be well built, but it is to soon to evaluate long term durability. If it functions well past its 5 year sealed system warranty I will be pleased.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this unit for about 1 year. I keep it set between 45-55% humidity and it has been running since I brought it home. The unit cycles on and off as needed and the tank fills up once a day during dry months and twice a day when it's more damp. It has helped keep the musty smell out of my basement utility room & living space (we are in MO). I would recommend this unit and will look for another Frigidaire when this one wears out.

Great dehumidifier when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used it this summer. Lasted until mid-August when it stopped dehumidify and formed ice on the bottom quarter of the coils. Until then, the dehumidifier worked great! Frigidaire's customer service was great on resolving the problem while Best Buy's (2 stores) were very uncooperative on replacing the unit. Had to take matters in my hands and drive 60 miles to get replacement. Hopefully, the replacement will last more than 1 summer.

Very durable, very functional
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best dehumidifier I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned a bunch) We live in humid North Georgia. Our basement gets very damp with no intervention. I’ve run this dehumidifier at least 20 hours a day for 5 years. Still going strong, still keeping moisture at the level set (50%) I highly recommend

Lowers the humidity of my entire +-1000 sq.ft. hom
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Appearance was a big factor in the selection of this unit. It is being used in my living room so I didn't want a loud ugly looking thing. So far it has met all of my expectations except one. I wish the unit would sample the air with the fan and run the compressor only when needed. It appears to me that the compressor always runs whenever the fan runs which wastes energy. Otherwise, it looks nice, works very well, and it is not too noisy on the high setting. If appearance is not a factor to you there are lower prices out there to choose from. This 70 pint unit drops the humidity of my entire +-1000 sq.ft. home without a problem. At first I was concerned about having the air filter in the back of the unit but surprisingly it works very well. I do however keep it away from walls. On the high setting the unit sounds like a window air conditioner. On low it is comfortable and easily ignored. Keep in mind that it will rise the temperature in the room. In my living room I run either the dehumidifier or the AC but not both. I noticed that the AC struggles to cool the room down when the dehumidifier is creating heat.

Quiet and effective dehumidifier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is it silent running? No. However, it is much more quiet than I expected. The controls are simple. The 70-pint water container is easy to remove and the recessed handle folds out for easy transport to sink or drain. Even better for me is the ease of connecting a hose running to a floor drain for continuous operation. This one is well worth the price.

Size is important.......
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had about month still working on small size finished basement with no mold issues.. Wanted to keep below 50% to stop mold but unit kept running and didn't want electric to skyrocket and wanted unit to last. Have it set at 55% and it will finally cycle off. Humidistat fairly accurate displaying about 3-4 percentage higher then my humidity control setup with 3 separate monitor gauges. I can live with this. Good dry output when running. Don't rely on just square footage size to choose your recommended pint size cause to stop mold room must be below 50% and this 70ty pinted unit ran constantly. Got 4 yr gap plan. These things never last anyway now a days. No issues with unit so far

Broke in about a year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked well when it worked and was not particularly loud. Like most portable dehumidifiers today, it developed a leak in the cooling system and stopped working in about a year. The automatic setting on these turn off/on too much and the cooling system are made as cheaply as possible, so they tend to break. I'd suggest running it in continuous mode and using an external timer to minimize strain on the compressor.

Error after 15 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like other reviews up there, I received the F0 error code after only 15 months (May 2016 to October 2017). Thankfully, I made it through two summers unlike others. This is still a horrible performance for a $250+ device (when I purchased). To clear the error I must unplug the device and plug it back in. Then it runs for another couple days until it errors again. On the plus side, this unit worked great and flawlessly for the 15 months I could use it. I had my unit setup for continuous drain. Maybe it didn't get enough breaks. Who knows. Either way, I'm quite disappointed in my purchase.

Worked well until about 1 year out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now owned two of these Frigidaire dehumidifiers. Unfortunately, my basement constantly tries to sit around 65-70% humidity. I had the first one for somewhere just over 1 year and it started throwing the F0 code over and over again. The first one was a smaller pint version. After owning the 70 pint version for just around a year now, the dreaded F0 code showed up. Unplug it and plug it back in, same code. It is becoming more frequent. After the first one went, I took it apart and saw that the coils were all rusted at the bottom and the sensor at the bottom right side for the coils was covered in rust. So if you buy this dehumidifer, eventually it will either rust out and lose it's refrigerant, or fail because the sensor is too rusty. At least that's how it seems.

Posted .Yikes! SpencerC, your dehumidifier is covered by a limited one-year warranty and a limited 2-5 year warranty on the sealed system (the compressor, condenser, evaporator and tubing). Please see warranty information on the last page of your Owner’s Manual. So that we are able to gain more insight and research any options, we request that you reconnect with us directly for assistance. We are here for you. *Ruth

Would not recommend this Frigidaire Dehumidifier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Model FFAD7033R1 is my third problematic dehumidifier manufactured by Frigidaire (Electrolux) The previous 2 models quit extracting water after several month use, but the unit was running. The sales person talked me into their brand new model. I am testing it. Here are the problems: 1. very noisy on high speed fan 2. turns on and off constantly if the humidity is preset 3. Set on constantly and high fan speed the water output was measured at exactly 16 ounces = 1 pint in I hour. This is a 70 pint unit and should produce more than 1 pint an hour 4. the humidity setting is way off. I am done with Frigidaire. This one will go back to Best Buy and I will select a completely different manufacturer.

Basement must
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Helps with the dampness in my basement. It does have to be emptied out basically every day though. If you can, connect the hose and stick it in your drain if you have it exposed.

So far so good.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my Amana dehumidifier finally died after 10 years of almost constant use and they stopped making them so I had to look elsewhere. After many false starts on a lot of machines I settled on the Frigidaire due to better reviews and the brand. Was also able to get some good discounts on it at the time as well. So far it's been running almost constantly for 3 months now. Just wish the bucket held more water like the Amana one did, wouldn't have to empty it 3 times a day. Although I have fond some articles on using a pump with it so I don't have to constantly empty it.

Does a great job reducing humidity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living in Arizona you wouldn't expect a lot of humidity. However, it does seem to get a bit stuffy and this helps the AC really do its job. We actually have to empty this everyday. It'll be interesting to see how often we need to empty it when monsoon season hits!

Great Dehumidifier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a lot of reviews before buying the Frigidaire. This looked to be the best I could find for the money. I've had the dehumidifier for about 3 weeks now, and it is working great. Seems to be well built and I am emptying the water collector every morning.

The best in it's class
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best dehumidifier in it's size. I was amazed how much water was in the air in my home, in less than 24 hours I filled the tank twice! It's quite, it shuts off automatically, and of course drys the air very quickly.
